Neutral Spring Drape 3 ways

Inspired by Angie's blog post, I wore a couple versions of neutral spring drape. The white and navy version was for a warmer day. The black sweater was for a cold morning. I wore a leather coat with this about the color of the booties. Are these too high contrast for me?
There was a third version on Saturday morning that did not get photographed that used my color block poncho. I will try to recreate it and get a photo. ETA: close to Saturday version except I used an animal print blouse as a top rather than the striped tee.

Are These Dated?

I found these still hanging around my closet, probably because
1: they are ink, not black
2: they are a high heel for me but very comfortable.
Are these on trend for spring or just too dated? Not only the wide heel to consider, but the rounded square toe shape. What do you think? I'd love a pair of navy pumps to wear this spring but now to your wisdom.

Should I wear this?

The nubby poncho was a gift and I need to figure out some ways to wear it. Does this white out version work? Are light tights/stockings too much? Pearls? Earrings? I need your thoughts and ideas.

Help needed to style a sweater dress

Angie's blog article on creating a cozy holiday look with a sweater dress sent me to the closet. This post is based on a medium grey Calvin Klein dress I've had for a few years. The toppers are all from my closet. Do you like any of these? I'd appreciate your opinions and suggestions for how to make this basic dress more festive.
1. is the basic dress with a simple scarf. I have other scarves. The other photos show other possible stylings. Thoughts?

Breaking Out : Trying Cocoon Cardigan on the Cheap

I am rediscovering cardigans, preferring the structure of jackets. This cardigan with its cocoon style and near match for the BR cream jeans that many of us bought last year, jumped into my cart at Target. Is it overwhelming? This is a medium. The fabric is cotton and acrylic, so may pill in time, but it is cosy and machine washable for under $17 this week. There were also a rich burgundy and a mid grey at my store ( on line it is called black)
The tassel necklace is also trying a trend on the cheap. This from the Rack. Please excuse the slippers. I am awaiting a fashion rut..SE Petty booties, this time in "bone". I have them in "putty" and "snake", so a rut but a comfortable one.

One More Seasons and Nature Outfit or the Big Bird Outfit

Another outfit that is to warm to wear yet but I couldn't resist showing you this vest recently passed on to me by a niece. The faux fur reminded me of feathers. All the other pieces are old. I wish the photos were better, but hope you can see the inspiration of the bird.

Seasons and Nature Challenge: Take 4

Before leaving on a trip, I put a quick outfit together inspired by Diane's nature photo with the lovely autumn colors. This outfit is too warm to wear now, but includes some new pieces that I could get to and seemed to be the right colors. I would not wear the scarf as seen but wanted to show the dappled pattern and colors and mimic the throw draped over the chair.
The booties are a K/R. Do they look like keepers ? I wanted some this color but had a hard time finding narrow tops. These are SE.
The jeans are also new. I was attracted by the color, an oxblood or warmer version of burgundy. These are coated so have some sheen to add texture.

Seasons and Nature Challenge Day 3

Probably not a flattering outfit but here I was inspired to use the colors, shapes and textures in the photo. It doesn't show well but the cardigan of linen and silk has a nubby texture. The shoes were also chosen for texture as well as color. The hat remixed me a little of the pod's shape. It was too hot for the cardigan. What do you think?

Seasons and Nature Challenge 2

This interpretation was better in my mind than it worked out. The black/grey on top sides and white snow at the bottom with a center vertical line caught my attention. I tried to replicate with white denim bottoms and stone-colored top under a linen kimono jacket that reminded me a little of the trees at the sides. I forgot a belt but went with a grey/pewter one. I am off with proportions and too much white at the bottom.
It is still warm and even this unlined linen jacket was too warm, but I am trying to do the challenge with summer weight clothing. How did I do?
Do the new Joe's jeans look ok? I needed to replace my several seasons old AT white denim clam diggers.

August Challenge 4: make some hot fall capsules

This last week of August I find that I desperately need to build some capsules for the hot Autumn days of September and even October. Yesterday I carved out an olive and orange capsule to which I can add white or other neutrals. There are other pieces I can add, such as my orange blazer and white denim jacket and white and olive jeans, when it gets cooler.
These combinations seem to work in my head but may not hold up when actually worn.
Comments and suggestions are welcomed. What else do I need to add? What doesn't belong?
