WIW: Citron column with grey and white

Angie's ensemble and column of color blog posts and inspired this outfit. I am wearing a citron tank under the grey top that just peeks out.
Jeans, tank, belt and grey layer are all from Target. Wilson's Leather moto jacket; SE Python Petty booties.
Too much bulk? I'm not sure how I feel in this outfit yet, but wearing citron today is a happy thought.
I welcome your suggestions and comments.

WI(Might)W: pointy toes with leather pants?

I'd like your opinion of this outfit and especially the pointy toe Impos with it before wearing them outside, so nonreturnable.
Gap light grey pullover
Older silk bow blouse (should I remove the bow?)
Thrifted 99cent black leather trousers
Too much black with black pants and booties or long leg line?
I will probably wear a black puffer over this outfit for needed warmth. At least that black will be a different texture.
Yay= looks ok, wear it; Nay= change

Ask Angie: K/R Boots Galore and sandals too. (Picture heavy)

I've been trying for a couple of years without success to find some black boots that I can wear with skirts, that are on the dressy side, and fit my skinny calves as well as possible. Other qualifiers are:
- a low, refined heel
- at least 4 hours of comfort shoes that I can walk and stand in
- not too expensive as I don't live in a climate that calls for boots more than a few months, but when I need them, I really want them.
- not a square toe.
- less than 15.5" tall
I picked out a few possibilities to show you, all on sale right now, and really need your brutally honest opinion. Should I keep any of these or keep looking?
1-4: These are very close to what I think I want. They are AGL Italian leather boots that I found at the Rack. These photos show you what a size 38 or 7.5 looks like with a 14" opening in the shaft. Many boot descriptions say they have a 14" circumference, but that is usually for a size 6. Larger sizes have larger openings. My legs are 12 inches at their widest part. As you can see, even 14" boot shafts are quite roomy. Are they too roomy to look sleek?
Pros: as close as I've come so far to what I want and at a price I'm willing to pay for the right boots. Big enough for light socks and for tucking if I want to. Comfortable enough to be eight hour footwear.
Cons- Even on sale these are still pricey, so I only want to keep them if they are 10s. Do the proportions look right on me? I don't want to buy these and still be looking for my boots.

I'm also considering a bootie instead of a tall boot to wear with tights with a skirt.
The next 2 fit this category:
5-7: Aquatalia by Marvin K., "Versus" lined soft suede leather pull on.
Pros- very comfortable and warm and fit pretty well at the ankle; waterproof; well made
Cons- still expensive; wonder if pulling them on and off will stretch the opening over time; do they look ok on me with skirts or do they look off proportionally?
8-12: (sorry for so many photos but wanted to show several angles). These are Impo "Novice" of all man made materials.
Pros- maybe most fashion forward of the bunch with the pointy toes; dressy; comfortable; ankle fit isn't too bad, less than $60
Cons: not leather, probably won't last more than a few seasons
13 and 15 show Bare Trap shooties that I already own. Will they work as well as any of the others under consideration for now?

Some Sam Edelman "Sutton" sandals on clearance at The Rack. At first I thought that they were "Okalas". Please overlook my non pedicured feet. I don't do polish in the winter in order to let nails have a rest. Are these worth keeping? I like the black with cream snake and could use some black summer footwear, but these are pretty open. They seem very comfortable but need more house testing if they pass your scrutiny. Are they 10s?
I'm really not sure what to do about any of these. What do you think is working, if anything? I am willing to keep looking if that is the best move. I could finish out the winter with what I have and see what next fall or NAS offers. I have a pair of black riding boots with buckles down the side that still have life in them, besides some brown riding boots. As for the sandals, if these are not 10s, I can wait.
Thank you for looking and for any advice you can give me.

WIW: can you stand another pastel outfit from me?

I've been hunting down any pastels in my closet that may work in this cold weather. Today's outfit consists of several wardrobe orphans and even orphaned pink lipstick.
Jeans: These are orphans because they are a bit too short. Does wearing them with these new booties help or make it worse? NYDJ with a pearly coating (I love the color).
Lavender tank: today layered over silk underwear. This is an orphan because the color is hard to pair with much of my closet and it fits best with a padded bra. I bought it when I weighed more. I like the color on me, and it's hand washable fabric of silk/cotton/spandex has a lovely weight and sheen. By Karen Kane several years ago.
Light blue denim jacket: I wanted this light denim blue color jeans last spring and never found them so picked up this little cropped BP Nordstrom's jacket instead. Then it turned too hot to wear it and when cooler, the color didn't seem fallish enough, so it's seen very little wear.
The last photo is of the Karen Kane lavender shell with its matching cardi with sparkly edging. Is it too matchy to wear together?
Blush pink MK belt and DV metallic wedge booties...both fairly new.
What do you think? Does this work? I'd love to have your suggestions and honest opinions on the outfit and individual pieces.

WIW: pastel and light neutrals play

I'm searching my closet for light colors with which to thumb my nose at the cold weather. I'd like your opinions and suggestions on these pieces.
Coat : JCrew via consignment
Trousers: thrifted wool lined BR light camel. These barely made the cut last year but seem to fit well. They need some heel at this length.
Tee: Target
Jacket: Halogen, last year
Belt: Calvin Klein, bought long for jeans
Scarf: Oscar de la Renta via consignment
Booties: DV taupe metallic wedges
1. Trousers w/ coat over tee
2. Tee, belt and trousers. ( I see that my belt shortening is at a bad angle)!
3. Tee worn untucked with scarf
4. Trying Angie's casual layering formula of long tee and scarf worn loose under a jacket, but with the trousers rather than jeans. (Just realized I need a shirt too for the formula). http://youlookfab.com/2013/12/.....al-layers/
5. Halogen blush jacket, scarf and belt. Is it too much? This was the way I planned to wear the outfit later but am now doubting this choice. Ideas?

WIW: My Winter Version of Lavender/ Grey/ Black

Angie's blog post this morning inspired me to try the color scheme although I've no cold weather lavender.
1/2: Grey NYDJs with a black merino pullover that DS had left behind (Men's BR sweater). Boots are Ecco with buckles cinched to fit.
3/4: Same jeans and sweater with the "lavender" of my JCrew coat and Rack scarf. Now I have on Bare Traps booties with a bit of a heel.
Are the skinny jeans too skinny for a senior citizen? Boots or booties? I could have worn the new wedge booties but wanted to use black footwear today. Was that a mistake? I didn't get a photo but carried a pewter metallic satchel and wore black leather gloves. I 'd love your suggestions and comments for what works and what can be improved.

WIW: 1-15 black and navy

Nothing new or special here. I wore 1/2 for a class.
Only Mine cashmere navy cable knit over a Brooks Brothers white shirt, Gap Really Skinny pants, MizMooz oxfords, MK watch, and a medley of pendants that were gifts from students.
3: what I wore to go workout, so super casual. Bob Dylan tee from Target, olive H&M skinny jeans, Halogen merino wool cardigan, Merrell sneakers.
Happiness factor and comfort were high for the black and navy outfit. I felt like the black and white shoes finished the outfit, but do you think that they were too much? I know the pendant grouping is a bit fussy but the students like to see them worn. Should I have stopped at one? Would a more oversized sweater be better? Your comments and suggestions are welcomed!

WIW: playing with peach, navy and chocolate

Today is a casual errands day and a warm enough to pull out a dark peachy Foxcroft buttondown. I used dark denim CofH jeans for most of the navy and leopard Target belt and Saffees leopard booties.
1/2: the combination with an old thrifted navy talbots blazer.
3: brown Caslon leather moto jacket
4/5: with chocolate boyfriend cardigan
6: shirt without a topper.
Which, if any, do you like best? The belt and booties are the only things less than 3 years old. Should anything be edited out? Should I wear peach or stick to blush? ideas and comments are welcomed.
ETA: photo 7 is close to the color of the shirt. It really is more peach than pink, and close up of the leopard booties

WIW: whiteout with grey clouds

Yesterday I tried another version of whiteout with the new DV booties for class and a ladies' evening meeting. This time the compliments flowed for the booties and whole outfit. I ended up not wearing the jacket in 3, but my warmer pink JCrew wool coat, and carried a grey/cream snake tote to class and Elliot Lucca grey snake clutch to the meeting. The open weave pullover has a 3/4 sleeve light grey Target tee under it. Your suggestions and comments are appreciated.

Knee high boots with boyfriend jeans?

Reviewing my winter wear this weekend I had an"ah ha" moment. I've very seldom worn jeans tucked into tall boots, even though it has been cold and we've had snow and slush. I will wear tall boots with a dress or skirt, so what's the problem? I found that I don't really own skinny jeans. Those that say they are skinny have been sized up to fit more loosely, too loose to look good tucked...Lots of volume above the boot. Does anyone else find that they struggle with this?
