K/R: EF Espadrilles

I found these perforated EF espadrilles at The Rack a while back and thought they would make a good addition to my summer footwear...cool in the heat yet not open. They are a half size up but very flat, so there is room for a cushy insert or to allow for foot swelling. It has been too cold and snowy to wear them and they can still be returned. What do you think? I'm not even sure if they qualify as espadrilles. K/R? Are they modern enough to update my outfits?

WIW: a casual version of black, white, and light blue

Inspired by Angie's latest ensemble post and Suz today, here is my version today of the black/white/pastel blue look. The blue is more midtone
Jeans: KUT Diana skinnies, sized up
Shell and cardi: old EF
Scarf: gift
Old junior brand
Bracelets: from the Rack
Belt: Target
I feel good in this outfit today. I've worn the blue with black jeans in the past but like lightening up with white.
Comments and ideas appreciated

Picasso: The Acrobat

I hope you can get a general idea from these very poor photos of my plan for interpreting this painting. From my travel wardrobe:
Jeans: BR
Tee and sweater: Gap
Sneakers: Born
I had planned to wear Cole Haan stone athletic flats w/o socks but it is too cold this morning. I had no lavendar with me or around this rental.
Suggestions and comments welcomed. Had a haircut this week.
Angie, thank you for this challenge. I still hope to try more of the paintings.
It has been especially a treat to see everyone's ideas for outfits. I hope that you have not worn out your hand/wrists trying to comment.

Picasso Challenge #1: The Charnel House

With my travel wardrobe, this painting was easiert with it's shades of grey. For the straight lInes in parts of the painting I used a dove grey Halogen pencil skirt. With the Target polkadot top and swirled lines of the scarf, I hoped to recall the organic lines and shapes. There is no full length mirror where we are staying, but legs are bare and feet encased in dove grey flats.
The mid-grey knit jacket was added for warmth and with it and the black bag I hoped to address the darker tones of the painting. I wore this outfit to Mass yesterday.
Comments and suggestions for improvement or variations are welcomed on the outfit and separate pieces. I have a haircut scheduled for tomorrow :)
New to me stylist, so I hope it will be ok.

Thank You, Angie!

Over a month ago I posted an "already missing my wardrobe thread", bemoaning that i would be away from my closet for 2 months. I took the advice some of you gave and threw in some extra stuff. It has been over a month now with several feet of snow and lots of winter. It still is. That has limited my choices, especially footwear and coats.
I want to especially thank Angie for her capsule posts. I have learned so much from trying to follow them and how varying color, pattern and silhouette can keep it from getting boring. Someone linked to a capsule template from another site, but it doesn't go into enough detail. For example it allows for 6 (or more) tops, but following Angie's casual fall capsule I learned that varying them...buttondown, knits, graphic tee, print, stripes, etc...is what really makes this work. A huge thank you to Angie that I am not bored out of my mind by now because I remembered to include variety for both winter and spring.
I have tried to write this several times, always getting called away before hitting Submit, thus losing it. So I'm submitting now.
