WIW: Not quite Toffee, Tomato, White and Burgundy

I borrowed Angie's ensemble idea for Monday's outfit but my red top was a deeper red than tomato and the brown woven belt and pointy loafers were not toffee, but I enjoyed the combination anyway.
I started out with photo 1, the white blazer ( thrifted. I need to replace with something better but rarely use a white jacket other than my jean jacket). Temperatures rose to the mid 80's and the jacket became too warm. To keep the white, the denim vest was subbed.
Red sleeveless shell: EF
Burgundy skinny jeans: H&M
Denim vest: Old Navy
Blazer and loafers: thrifted
Belt: DH's
I wasn't completely happy with this outfit and would have preferred tomato and toffee pieces but thought it wasn't too bad. The top is redder than it looks on my screen, and the jeans not quite as dark. I'd love your comments on what works, what doesn't and what could/should be tweaked or changed.

Class Reunion Help: Part Three for the dinner and photos

For this event I wanted to wear a dress or skirt but not be really dressed up. For your consideration are 3 EF dresses that are not black and a Halogen seamed pencil skirt. I am not trying to impress, just to look good and approachable. It's been 50 years since I saw most of my classmates and I probably won't see them again! Please tell me what you think of these options. I will not be wearing my fitbit on my arm and will wear makeup and comb my hair.
1: EF sapphire blue lantern dress
2: EF midnight blue high back V-neck dress
3: EF firefly cowl neck assymetrical hem dress
4: Halogen skirt with dark navy silk top
Please be totally honest and if you think that you have seen me in better choices tell me about it :)

Class Reunion outfit help: Part 2

These are outfits I'm considering for Saturday day of my reunion. This is an Old Settlers Day type event with parade that I may be riding in. I based these on my black Kut Diana skinny jeans and DV ankle strap flats for comfort. It should be a warm sunny day. The first 1/2 feature a crossover top (Pleione ) and the 3/4 a silk DVF tee. I have other choices and if you have seen me in other casual outfits that you like better, let me know. I need total honesty. I'm not trying to impress, just try to look my best for meeting up with old friends.

Help needed for outfits for class reunion: Casual Friday night ( picture heavy)

I will soon be attending a highschool class reunion and want to look my best without looking overdressed or like I'm trying too hard. This is billed as casual and is in a very small city on the wind-swept plains. The weather is supposed to be dry with highs in the 80's, lows in the 60's.
Below are some outfits I'm for the first evening of an informal dinner, visiting and possible float building. The first are inspired by gorgeous Karen's summer sweatshirt look. Each include a pair of Aeropostale faded jeans worn rolled as probably my most flattering jeans and DV black ankle strap flats that are very comfy.
1/2: closest to Karen's outfit. Top is a Talbots oversized striped top.
3/4: Target plaid sweatshirt. I usually layer a shirt under this sweatshirt.
5/6: another Target mixed media sweatshirt. I could layer a button down under this one too.
7-10: dark red H&M jeans with possible toppers if it is colder than expected.
11-14 various white out possibilities with BR ivory skinny jeans sized up
Do any of these look especially good?
Someone suggested that I wear school colors. Maroon ( burgundy ) is scarce in my closet. If the weather is cooler Friday night or Saturday morning, I could wear burgundy H&M sized up skinny jeans. Do any of these toppers work? I have on a BR chambray button-down and Me Too Adam Tucker loafers but would probably wear short black or brown boots not yet brought out for the season as it's still too hot. Do any of the outfits with the dark red jeans look good to you?
I would really appreciate your input and your eye. Please give me your honest opinions. Tell me if you think I should go back to square one if none of these look right. I have plenty of other options and can shop tomorrow if needed.
I will post more possible outfits for other events in there own theads.

WIW: Blatantly trying for an Angie copy (ETA: better photos, shoes and jean jacket

I saw today's blog before dressing for a day at the zoo and had to use my white Kut Catherine BFs, and new blue plaid shirt. I needed very comfortable walking shoes so went with chocolate rather than cognac for belt and footwear. The shoes are probably the oldest pair that I own..Ecco bowling shoes, I think they were called. I usually wear them covered mostly with with trousers but today rolled the jeans to let them show. Too dated? Do I dare wear the shirt completely tucked like this again? Too warm for a topper. But I would have used a faded denim jean jacket, slightly over sized.

WIW: mixed bag from the last few weeks

The last month or so has been hectic with visitors and trips. I found some outfit photos that I don't think I've posted yet and am posting them now for your opinions on what works ( or not) and suggestions.
1: Plaid Target sweatshirt that I picked up to wear to the a Highland Games near Estes Park. I think it may be sized up too much but I wanted to wear it over a shirt as sweatshirts necks feel too big and open on me. I think it fits better now that it has been in the dryer. Here I'm wearing it with a black/ white check shirt and black Ponte jeans. Very casual.
2/3: A JCrew leopard shirt from a consignment sale with Jolie silk track pants and SE sandals. The shirt is semi tucked in the second photo. Is this better or should I not wear this shirt and track pant combo?
4/5: Tahari dress with and without Wilson leather jacket. Kate Spade convert able crossbody/clutch bag. Old pair of dove patent wedges.
6: Lace bomber with black Target tank and Rich and Skinny coated grey jeans.
7/8: Citron linen topper with white Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans, EF tank and with black dress.
9/10: Each side of a favorite summer reversible dress worn lots in hot weather. Is it too short for me?
I appreciate your comments and suggestions as I try to improve my style. As the first 3photos show, I am struggling with more fluid tops. Do these look sloppy?

WIW: hopeful update for an old favorite denim pencil

After seeing Angie's denim skirt post, I tried to update mine with plaid, cognac-like accessories and pointy toed loafers. I didn't have a bomber that worked so used a twill moto jacket. Does this work? Would booties with a bit of a heel be better than the flats? Yes, I need to shop for a shorter belt!
The pieces are all several years old except for the plaid shirt (Target). Does it look ok for a casual day? Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated!

More EF vest styling and a related K/R question

I am hanging onto the XS vest from my last post http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....hite-vests
for now and tried some more styling today.
1: vest with a Joie mixed woven and knit long sleeved top in an off white. This top still has tags on and is more fluid than it looks in the photo, but I wonder if it looks too snug. Jeans are the ivory BRs from last spring.
2: vest with old sleeveless Express draped top
3: vest with EF tube skirt and DVF silk tee. Do these short sleeves work with the vest?
The rest of the photos show an EF shell that was on clearance. It is also bone like the vest and of the same fabric. I wonder how it is to be worn. It's ok under the vest but is a bit wider than normal with enormous arm holes. Is it to be worn with something under it (more than a bra)? Is it worth having the arm holes taken in? ( I still haven't used my Nordstroms free alterations for this year).
I seem to be having trouble loading the photos. What do you think of these stylings? Does anything work?
