Stripes, Dots, Giraffe, Plaid for Halloween

I really don't intend this to look like a costume, but wanted to play with Angie's Friday ensemble today. The pieces are mostly in my Finds below except that the tee under the orange blazer is an orange and light orange stripe. I could easily sub in leopard flats or shirt. Too much?

Trying tall boots and skirt. Pass or Fail?

I know that this is not the look Angie was blogging about. The shirt is too narrow and heavy, the boots are too short and leave a gap. But I would like your opinion...which boots look best, the brown or black? The color of the leather skirt is "burgundy stem", rather dark, more chocolate than wine. Since I am shorter than most people, few would see that there is a gap between hem and boot from looking down. The last photo is of new Munroe flats in wine and dark reddish brown leathers. Better? The black Aquatalia boots are the tallest. The brown ones are old ECCOs. The last photo is s close up of the color of the skirt

WIW: wine on ice 3 ways

Wednesday I wore something close to teach and managed to snap some photos. The print jacket (1-3) was not warm enough so exchanged it for the EF wine cardigan. (4) I ended up wearing the wine ballet flats (7) that I bought last year to wear as slippers/house only shoes. The necklace (3) was a gift and is Native American inspired.
Today I am wearing the darker wine jeans, old EF thrifted cardigan (6),burgundy short boots (8) that reminded me of the Sweeties. The necklace (5) was made by my niece and the stone beads are beautiful, but heavy.
I did not like the fit of the jacket from seeing it in the photos so it will be cleaned and donated. Underlayer on top in both outfits is a silk EF shell...2 different ones. The first is more aqua, the second is more midtone blue than icy.
