WIW: Easter in July

Today the morning was cool so I pulled out a suit I keep especially because it is usually the perfect weight for Easter and the pale green of tiny new spring leaves.
1. Ann Taylor skirt (consignment), EF silk shell (thrifted), Bandalino snake sandals (consignment), necklace (DIY)
2. Same with Ann Taylor suit jacket.
3/4. Jacket sleeves scrunched
5. Twisted view of skirt pleat detail, wrinkled after sitting in this all morning.
6. With Halogen blush jacket. Does this work?
Is this outfit too pale? Too dated? Please be honest.
I was talked into the sandals when I bought the suit but know they are not very modern. Are they too frumpy? Any suggestions for improvement and other ways to wear the suit? Your thoughts on what is working? The matching jacket is heavier and warmer than the blush blazer.

WIW: MaryK Copycat Casualized

When I saw this outfit on MaryK: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....s-all-over, I knew I wanted to try to copy it because I have that color pencil skirt and a blouse with similar colors that had only been worn with white bottoms.
1. Halogen seamed pencil skirt
Blouse: Ralph Lauren silk that is not a flattering style but has survived edits because it's open breezy style and fabric are wonderful on hot summer days
Belt: thrifted
Sandals: MeToo
2. Rafaella thrifted white blazer standing in until I find the perfect white blazer.
I then casualized the outfit for my day after spying the bluish-green skirt in the closet.
3. NYDJ skirt, thrifted utility belt
4. Added AE white denim jacket. I may add white Cons later but plan to wear #3 out shopping this morning.
Mary, thank you for the inspiration. I plan to wear 1/2 out to eat this evening. Both skirt and blouse will probably get new life because of you.
I welcome comments and suggestions for improvements. The blouse, white blazer and cobalt bag have been edging toward the donation bag yet fill a hole. Should I make replacements of any or all a higher priority? Is the white belt too high contrast?

WIW: Summer Frocking with Dr. Scholls

Some recent hot weather outfits featuring frocks.
1/2: EF dress and cardi, Dr Scholls pewter flats, old belt from SteinMart. I wore this to a local production of Les Miserables. This cardi is not working, is it? I took it for AC but didn't actually need to wear it.
3. Old denim pencil skirt (Z Cavaricci from Marshall's), AT blouse (thank you, San!), same flats, MK watch, old belt from Marshall's. high happiness factor. I wore this shopping and lunch with friends. Does the tucking look ok?
4. NYDJ jean skirt just like my white one, Charter Club shell, same flats, turquoise and silver beads were a gift. Worn to a book discussion. Too Christmasy? Too plain? The top is too big but I love the color. Should it be tucked?
If a 5th photo shows up, ignore the duplicate. I've yet to figure out how to remove them but will try an edit.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed!

WIW: in the heat

It's been a hot summer week. These are pieces I have shown you before, I hope remixed some.
1. I paired brown with citron this time. The leopard top is Michael Kors over Target tank and jeans. The cheetah Fossil bag and Antonio Melanie sandals are thrifted.
2. This is the Halogen seamed pencil skirt with the hem let out, Sandra Ingrish blouse, Target belt and Dr Scholls flats.
3. San, if you see this, these are the Boden shorts you sent me. Dog graphic top and belt are thrifted; Aerosoles sandals.
4. Classics Entiere silk top with Citron brand silk capris, rolled up; Alex Marie sandals, MK watch and consignment bangle
5. Liz Claiborne denim skirt with Trove oversized silky tee, Dr. Scholls flats, belt from Dillard's. This skirt is up for edit. It is cool and breezy and casual for hot weather but feels too full and maybe too young. I have a denim pencil skirt. Should I let this one go?
I appreciate you comments and suggestions, especially about anything that you like or is not working and alternative styling ideas.

WIW: MOTG skirt outfits and a super casual

1. Angie's post today reminded me that, while I don't have a stretchy striped midi skirt (yet), I do have a stretchy woven denim midi. Here it is today with an Express drapey banded top, old Aerosole casual sandals and Target clutch. The skirt is years old from Marshall's.
2. One of my go-to coolest outfits for heat. It's all nylon mesh lined with nylon mesh. Top is Sweet Pea. The skirt was thrifted and a maxi that I just cut off shorter. My DH hates maxi skirts and I trip on them on stairs. Sandals are Cole Haan.
3. This outfit is an attempt at Angie's full printed shirt outfit. The skirt is consignment or thrifted vintage. It is the shortest skirt I own. Is it too short for an older woman? In fact, does this outfit look too young?
4-5. A new black EF pencil skirt of heavy knit. BR top from last year. I think the white belt that I bought for jeans is too long worn at the waist. MeToo shoes.
6. The super casual outfit. I'm dressed for dog walking.
How can I improve these? What works and what doesn't?

Ask Angie: K/R: Tory Burch navy leather jacket

I found this jacket at the Rack and need your wisdom as to whether or not to keep it. I can get very sidetracked by the 85% off price.
I took some quick photos with various other things. The color shown is pretty accurate. It is a dark navy but has some contrast with black. I can think of lots of things that I could wear with it and the butter soft leather could be worn almost year round as an indoor jacket.
However, even at it's much reduced price ($119 from $800), it is pricey for me. As for need, I was hoping to replace a wool navy blazer this year and I think this piece could fill that spot.
The fit feels good but my eye is not good at knowing. I could not layer anything bulky under it. Can this be worn with pants, dresses and skirts? How is the fit? Is the length good? It is collarless but my shoulders are pretty broad and neck is average length. I don't want to keep this if it is not a 10. I want it to be but am easily swayed by a bargain.

WIW: black and white

Here are a few recent outfits for your opinion.
1-4 This is mostly old and thrifted.
Dress: Talbots pull on (thrifted)
Belt: Nordstroms
Jacket: thrifted lace of cotton/nylon
Sandals: Cole Haan
Bag: black snake clutch given to me in my teens (vintage!)
This is an easy washable dress to pack and change up with accessories but should I be looking for a better version? Is the lace jacket ok or dated?
5. Very casual outfit worn at home of voluminous rayon and spandex oversized top over Nautica striped tank.
Kut Diana's worn sized up. Thrifted belt. Cole Haan flats
Too sloppy?
6. I wore this on July 4th to a parade and fireworks.
Clams: AT
Tee: thrifted Talbots linen and viscose oversized stripe
Belt: Target
Flats: Aerosoles
Does this work?
Comments and suggestions welcomed.

WIW: Red. white and Blue-ish

Here are some recent outfits with a loose take on red, white and blue.
1/2. Well, pink and coral are in the red color family and the top is a bluish grey? This is the first time I've tried rolling these jeans and I think it may be a miss. I tried again with a lower, wider roll in #2. Does this work?
3. I think these are the Kut Catherine Boyfriends, EF tank, Nine West cardi, Calvin Klein belt, Dr Scholls flats.
4-6. VC cold shoulder top over white tank, Kut Diana skinny jeans, VC blazer, belt from The Rack, bag thrifted or consignment, Cole Haan flats
7. For Lantana, the striped Nautical tank with clams (rolled Kut Diana's). Thank you for the suggestion!
8/9. Tahari navy dress, Cole Haan sandals, Ambition blazer
I'd love your suggestions and comments for what is working, or not so much.
