Here are a few recent outfits which tried to be festive this week before Christmas. I did not get photos of them all, and some have been posted before. Ian putting them together to have a record. I welcome your comments and ideas for styling.
1/2; blue and white silky plaid shirt with blue metallic jeans and black booties
3/4: silver top pieces with white jeans using styling idea from Aida.
5/6: red wool suit with black ribbon belt. First photo shows floral scarf, which I ended up not wearing.
7/8: red sequined sweater and scarf with plaid jeans. Worn to Zoo Lights shown in 8. 10/11: mixed plaids posted before and inspired by Angie's plaidX2 blog post. Finds shows other pieces worn recently. I enjoyed meeting a friend casually with the red vest and black jeans and white with black dots shirt, black and white flats. The black/ white sweater was worn with the black jeans, pearls and black booties.

WIW: Plaid X 4
This is not very dressy but inspired by Angie's double plaid. The plaid pants are a little dark to see so I added the last photo, trying to show all the plaids.
The shirt is cotton but not flannel, the scarf has mixed 2 plaids with green. Too much?

Holiday Capsule in Action
I posted most of my special-to-the-holidays items here: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ay-capsule
Here are some in action mixed with other wardrobe pieces;
1-4: "Silver bells". A rather casual day outfit of grey jeans and silver pieces. I got some compliments on the outfit. Worn out with a silvery grey puffer jacket for a topper.
5: Wassail bowl outfit based on Angie's orange pants ensemble and featured in another post.
6/7: red and green ( olive with pimento) and metallic gold ultra-casual with olive jeans and tee, red puffer best and bag, gold clutch and added gold sneakers for dog walking.
8/9: beaded skirt worn to a performance of The Messiah with black turtleneck, scarf with blues and teals, hopefully dressy kitten heeled ankle boots.
10/11: ultra-casual tee and jeans for tree trimming party, pewter booties, red bag, snowflake earrings.
I will try to add some finds from my iPad. Any suggestions are helpful. What works and what needs improvement?

WIW: Orange top, Burgundy bottom: The Wassail Bowl festive outfit
I don't have orange pants, so reversed Angie's ensemble to try to create a casually festive outfit that I call wassail bowl, hot punch of burgundy wine (pants and other bits of deep wine color), blood oranges with juice (sweater and bag), a bit of whiskey (belt and boots) and studded with some cloves (brown of bag trim).
Does this work? Comments and suggestions are welcomed.

My Holiday Capsule
Below are the key pieces from my winter holiday capsule. I would mix these in with neutral essentials and jewelry. I forgot to include pearls...necklaces, earrings and a ring.
Do you have any suggestions? I know that I could use some sparkly booties but don't think I would get enough wear out of them. I would like to add just a few pieces of green but have not found the right ones.
A Quick Kitchen Sink: 2 Ways
I had to try the kitchen sink outfit. I have 2 pleated skirts... A plain black and a crazy print that represents the kitchen sink on it's own with several colors and different prints combined.
1-3 are the black skirt with black Paige Hoxton released hem jeans, the closest thing I have to leggings. Are the released hems too much?
4 is the crazy skirt with a graphic tee and Hoxtons. This version needs more work, I think. Shoes for both are Me Too black patent kitten heels. Your comments and suggestions are welcomed! I did get a hair cut after these were taken. It was getting long enough to flip up on the ends!
