Angie’s Challenge: Day 4: graphic tee on senior citizen

This outfit is me because the dog on the thrifted tee looks like our dog and my favorite way to wear a tee is with a jacket. This jacket is a nice warm thrifted EF felted wool. It has self fabric covered front buttons!
The jeans are Paige Hoxton ankle and almost reach my naval. They feel great on.
Forgive my slippers and wet stringy hair. Later I added a lucite necklace of big rings, gold hoop earrings and gold watch, black booties because it was cold out and they can accommodate thick wool socks. I used a light grey bag with ostrich skin texture.
My day was doing chores at home and teaching a class of children. They liked the necklace and wondered if it was glass.
How did I do? Are the jeans fitting ok? Is the jacket too big? I would have worn a scarf but did not want to cover up the dog.

Angie Challenge Day 3

Days 1/2 were filling a thread, so I started this new one for the rest of the challenge.
Our weather is cold with an icy fog. Today’s activities include shopping and a chocolate social tonight.
1. This outfit is me because it is s bit dressy with the heavy silk DVF skirt. I was the dressiest there.
2. High low with EF silk top, Aquatilia booties, and long jacket ( inspired by Griffin), also Kate Spade bag. Low because the skirt and scarf are thrifted.
3. Lots of silk
4. Feet felt warm and stable on refrozen ice.
5. Surprise statement bling earrings.
6. Pattern mix of scarf and skirt.
Is the jacket too long for me at 5’3”? Does the pattern mix work? I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. Please ignore the hair which was washed but not yet tamed.

Angie Challenge: 2/25, 2/26 (added, scroll down)

Today, Monday is starting out cold with some snow and ice on the ground but sunny skies. It is supposed to reach about 47 F this afternoon then go below freezing tonight.
I am a retired elementary school teacher and DH is retired, so casual.
DH likes for us to go someplace each day. Often watching the grandchildren who are toddlers is another daily activity. This all means I need to be ready to go at a moments notice and be ready and able to crawl on the floor. Today we will probably go to a medical lecture on heart valve replacement.
Despite a casual life, I like a dressy style.
Other clothing rules are no sandals or heels and easy, quick access to my stomach for insulin injections 4 times a day. I also need a bag big enough to tote medical supplies and emergency food, a shopping bag ( area stores expect you to bring your own), and the usual purse stuff. I try to be minimal but usually need at least a satchel.
I am 72 years old, grey hair, and 5’3” tall,
small boned, a rectangle with definite apple tendencies.
Today’s outfit is quite “me” because I like to mix in thrift, consignment, and low end with pricier items. Here the jacket and trousers are thrifted, the tee is Ted Baker and I used my red Kate Spade bag. The trousers are probably the only pair I have, are wool, lined, and side zip Dana Bucanan... a brand from the past. I wore red coral dangly earrings Do you have any ideas for improving the outfit? Your thoughts and comments are welcomed. I will add outfits to this thread this week.

WIWCC-Valentines (3 days)

To continue the Color Challenge:
Tuesday ( 1/2): is an outfit I wore to meetings, red- orange EF dress, taupe jacket, booties and bag
Wednesday (3/4): worn to teach. Pink and white. Pink floral top under a thrifted merino pink hoodie, white EF jeans, pink socks and added my white booties.
Thursday: I started out with 5 and did not like it (red pants, red graphic sports hoodie under tweedy jacket).
I changed into a more tomato red outfit of pants, turtleneck, quilted vest, white booties. (6) I felt like too much red so added white and grey scarf not styled here. (7)
I am curious to know what you think works and what does not.

WIW: CC for today and Sunday

Since I don’t think I’ll be able to participate, I decided to pull from my Cold Spring capsule for a few days at least.
Sunday, cream/grey tweedy sweater dress. I wore OTK light taupe suede boots and carried a taupe bag. My topper was a white puffer. This worn to see Oscar Animated Shorts and dinner at a lovely tea house.
Today I went all out blush with an oversized blush chunky sweater, blush jeans, tan suede loafers and light tan socks as it is snowy and cold. Do these colors work together? Does the sweater overwhelm?
Last photos are an outfit last week, an early stab at the no dark neutrals. Light greys and white. Is the hat silly?
I welcome your suggestions and comments.

WIW: Black pants outfit based on #1

Based on Angies blog ideas of ways to wear black pants for business, I tried this one (#1) casually with black jeans. I used a black and white dotty scarf for the blouse, snake booties and clutch bag. Maybe not for business, but does this work?

WIW: Turquoise and white booties

I tried a couple of turquoise pieces together today, mostly to see if they worked together... the EF jeans and JC checked shirt. With some snow and ice still on the ground, I opted for the white booties rather than the turquoise loafers. What do you think? Too springy for early February? Do you think the colors clash? The colors in the photos are pretty true. How about the fit of the jeans? They have a 9-10 inch rise in front but still hit at least 3 inches below my navel. Too low rise?
