A Question of Proportion

I'd like to wear this top and skirt today but am wondering if the top is too long to wear out with a skirt.
1. Top (Nautica, consignment) with NYDJ white denim skirt, Aerosoles flats.
2. Top scrunched up a bit
3. Top tucked, thrifted belt from Savers
Which way looks best to your eye? Or should I wear a different top?

ETA: I can't add photos here, probably because I posted with the phone ap, but below I added photos of a half tuck attempt. It seems off though as this top is fitted, not draped.

WIW: Blue Lantern with Mama's Beads

This weekend the EF lantern dress went to Mass, to a reception, and to dinner with friends. Each time I pulled out necklaces of my mother's. Yesterday would have been my parents 70th anniversary.
1/2: with Bobeau cardi and Mom's glass beads, Aerosole gold sandals
3/4: with bronze flats (looking at the photo, the gold sandals would have been a better choice), Elliot Lucca clutch, Mom's gold tone necklace.
5-8: with consignment EF chocolate cardi, thrifted belt and sandals, Mom's gold and pearl necklace. Do you like this best with or without the belt?
I nearly always wear the gold chains with tiny pendants. Friends may not recognize me without one, but I probably should have removed them here.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed.
Do you remember someone when you wear certain jewelry?

WIW: joining the column of white group with kimono-esque jacket

I saw Rae, Shannon, Suz, MaryK and others looking so great in white that I went for it too. Not having a print jacket that I liked with white, I tried two of my kimono- esque to stand in for a jacket.
Jeans are white Diana skinnies that are freshly washed and haven't yet reached full slouch.
EF (old) white linen shell over Target tank
Both jackets are Citron brand from Nordstrom
Both bags are thrifted nice leather in unused condition
The belt reminds me of Ceit's Canadian Tire belt. It is leather and thrifted. (T.i.l.t. Made in USA)
1/2. Taupe linen top
3/4. Floral on white cotton, buttoned and open
Is any of this working? Jeans rolled to best level? Any improvements you would suggest? I welcome your thoughts.

Inspired by Annagybe's vision of citron, grey and sky blue

Anna saw a color combo on So You Think You Can Dance that she thought someone should try.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....or-someone
Here are a couple of attempts this morning.
1. Basic citron and grey worn around the house.
2. Different shoes and I used the aqua bag in #3 with this to run errands.
3. Showing various versions of what I could find for the blue...light wash denim jacket, aqua sandals, aqua bag.
4. Another option with Taylor aqua cropped cardi.
Anna, I'm not sure what shade of grey or if I have the right blue, but this was fun. I will try other versions as I find them. Does any of this work?
Shirt: Pleione dove silk
Belt: Calvin Klein Jeans distressed silver leather
Jeans: Target
Grey athletic flats: DKNY; grey wedges: MeToo; aqua sandals: no brand Italian leather (thrifted)
Bag: Consignment

K/R: picking the best fruit ( warning: picture heavy)

You may have seen my post on the Eileen Fisher lantern dress. I liked the deep blue so much that I ordered two more sale versions to try and then saw one at the Rack. I need to decide if I should keep any of these and, if so, which one. The first is rhubarb, which is a cherry red, which Debbie got.
Second is another red, strawberry. It is a coral red. Third is sweet plum, which is not pastel but a rich midtone. All are rich saturated colors. Included are some toppers I am also trying for a tone-on-tone but I have other toppers I can use.
1/2. The dress I kept in Sapphire.
3/4. The Sapphire dress with sleeveless top in same color. Does this add anything? I'm thinking of returning this top.
5/6. The dress Debbie has in Rhubarb.
7/8. The dress in Strawberry ( a bit more coral than Rhubarb)
9/10. Only other piece I could find in this color, a long sleeved top in same color and fabric as the dress. Is this too much worn over the dress for cool weather?
11-13. Dress in Sweet Plum.
14. Same dress with open weave linen blend boxy sweater
15/16 same dress with diagonal sleeve tee in same color and fabric for different look
17: dress with belt
(Hidden photos were duplicates)
I would love your thoughts and brutally honest opinions on any of these dresses and possible additions. I think the colors are pretty accurate, at least on my screen. What should I return? The only thing I'm keeping for sure is the dress in blue. It has already been worn several times.

WIW: warm and humid has arrived

Here is a hodge lodge of recents that I managed to get photos of. We have had guests staying in the spare bedroom where I take photos so many outfits are missing but most are duplicates of what you have seen. Some of these may be too
1. -3. I've worn this dress quite a bit. Shown with Hinge denim vest, alone and Denim jacket; Born silver sandals and MeToo dove patent peep toes.
4. Blush jeans, Classiques Entiere silk top, MeToo Adam Tucker flats.
5. Paige capris from San, ancient oversized silk tee (Carole Little), leopard Franco Sarto sandals, thrifted leather belt. Is this tee too old. Does it look ok? It has survived editing because I live in "The Sunflower State" and occasionally need something like this, but maybe it's time to let it go.
Your thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

WIW: Dress Challenge

I welcomed Ingunn's dress challenge this week because I had just pulled out summer dresses. Unfortunately the weather was cool. Anyway here's what I wore, some keep or toss.
1. This is actually almost ankle length that I temporary shortened using belts, so it is a bit heavier in the middle than it should be. I'm trying to decide if it's worth shortening. It's an Eileen Fisher linen pull on shift dress. I had the cashmere cardi in the same color. The linen is soft but does wrinkle. What do you think?
2. Worn to Mass, an old Calvin Klein sheath dress with the black lace bomber jacket. The belt came with the dress but I'm not liking it here. It may be time to start searching for a black sheath upgrade.
3. This thrifted cotton Target dress is cream on navy. It keeps surviving editing out because it fits so well and is a good length, something I don't often find. It's very well made completely lined in cotton. Is the pattern too much on me. Shall I keep it or let it go?
4. A skirt rather than a dress..from consignment a couple of years ago, heavy 100% silk by DVF. EF black silk shell, AE denim jacket. I usually have a high happiness factor with this but felt bloated and fat, probably due to some new meds. Depressing
5. You saw this, the new EF sapphire dress and cardi and new Sofft sandals. I wore this to a meeting and was glad for the warmth of the cardi.
I'd love your thoughts on any of this.. .what works and what needs to be tossed...what can be improved. I need to hear it
Ingunn, thank you for suggesting this challenge. It was timed right for me to use spring/summer dresses

Help: The blue EF dress with toppers. What works?

Last week posted the Eileen Fisher lantern dress from the HYS at Nordstroms and its same color cardi. (1&2). Some suggested I try kimono and other toppers. Here are some items from my closet and I'd love to see through your eyes what is working or what isn't and what I should look for if needed.
I'm in trouble as I have 3 more of these dresses all in different colors in the closet waiting a decision as to which one, if any, will be kept. But that's another post, although toppers figure into it.
3. Cropped black EF cardi.
4. White denim jacket
5. AT navy cropped cardi
6. Silk floral
7. Short kimono-like jacket
8. Long kimono
9. Bobeau cascading cardi

WIW: some recent outfits

Some recents
1-2 Hudson jeans, Classiques Entiere silk shell, Citron linen kimono-esque jacket, MeToo flats. Worn to an art faire.
3.& 6. VC orange blazer, Halogen pencil skirt, silk shell, Franco Sarto loafers. Worn to Mass and out for brunch
4-5. Pleione top worn over BP tank, Paige capris ( thank you, San), unknown brand flats and bag. Worn for errands and shopping.
I felt comfortable and pretty happy with each of these, but wonder if I should try to get the attached ties removed from the shell in #2. They are attached at the side seams and are probably meant to be tied in back over a bit of gathering there. The Pleione top fits oddly when buttoned up but makes a light weight layer on a hot day. We may be nearing the end of our relationship.
Comments and suggestions welcomed
