I got a couple of wonderful alpaca sweater dresses from Nancylee through the Style Exchange, thinking of giving at least one to DDIL who loves Peruvian Connection. One is black and one is taupe. Both are just a bit short on me to wear without leggings (as are nearly all sweater dresses I've tried)
I'd like your opinion on the taupe one today. It is so soft and warm that I don't want to take it off.
Pictured are various stylings with and without belt, scarf, etc., the collar in different positions. I have other toppers that could work on really cold days and other footwear.
The first and last photos are the sweater dress I'm thinking of replacing, although it is still in good shape. It is an ombre taupe to dark brown.
What are your thoughts? Keep the PC dress ( photos 3-7) or give to DDIL? (she is in her mid 20's and could use it for work and w/o leggings). It does fit her boho leaning style.
Yay, keep it. Nay, give to DDIL.

Today's boxy sweatshirt over a buttondown
A Post-and-Run. Does this work? The shirt was too short to show under the sweatshirt. Would booties be a better choice for footwear?
Sweatshirt: Target
Shirt: old thrifted AT
Jeans: Kut Diana Skinnies
Oxfords: Miz Mooz

Styling a pleated skirt
Last weekend I bought a pleated look knit woolish skirt for a change from pencil skirts. It feels warm and so soft and comfortable. The fabric is actually not pleated but is knit to look that way. It had a 3-day return which I missed so I'm keeping it and think it will be a good addition.
Unless you set me straight.
1. Worn with old EF cashmere open cardi and matching silk shell, scarf from San, black fishnets layered over nude stockings, old Munro ankle boots.
2. Same but with a black silk shell layered under the blue one. No scarf.
3. Same but with added narrow zebra belt.
4. Close up of skirt.
Is this working? What styling has the best proportions? Too matchy?
Is the skirt too short on me, especially for fishnets?
I welcome your thoughts and ideas for styling. Please be honest. If I should not wear this skirt, I know much younger women who will use it.
I welcome your thoughts.

WIW for Valentine's Day
Inspired by the colors in Angie's blog ensemble, but limited by cold and snow.
My metallic wedge suede booties would look better but these old laceless oxfords were chosen for their light color and that I wouldn't mind so much if I have to walk through slush and snow. I get my hair trimmed today.
The last photo includes my blush pink wool coat and dark red bag.
Comments and suggestions welcomed.

Wearing white to blend in with the snow
I thought I'd try to link to Angie's post today with my WIW because it inspired me to pull out the cream jeans. This for a very cold day with lots of snow on the ground.
Jeans: BR
Pullover: Gap
Vest: Cache (thrifted)
Boots: SE pythons over cream Smart Wool socks
Scarf: Target cashmere
Belt: Nordstrom Rack
Is this too OTT? Is the hoody puffer vest too young for a senior citizen? This is this year's Gap sweater. Does it look too short here? I welcome your opinions and suggestions for improvement.
1/2 with scarf; 3 is without. I ended up needing it indoors for warmth.

WIW: playing with columns of color in the cold
Inspired by Angie's post on creating a column of color, I tried some from my closet recently.
1/2: a column of denim two ways
3. A column of citron ( posted before)
4. A column of chocolate
5/6 a column of grey two ways
7. A column of black
Most of these had to get me through a bitter cold day and footwear was sometimes determined by the necessity walking in snow.
I think all could be improved but I was ok with them. I think the last one needs a longer top but the cardigan was ice and warm.
I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. I'd love to know if any are worth repeating.

WIW: Shannon Inspired ETA San's leather jacket
When I saw Shannon's Easy Peasy outfit last week, I was inspired to copy knowing I had very similar trousers.
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....easy-peasy
It's perfect for today. Except for the booties, everything is a few years old. In fact the trousers are thrifted and I have no idea how old they are! Are they too short for PPP with these booties? Too much black for me? Do I need a scarf to cover neck wrinkles and lighten things up?
1: trying to copy Shannon's pose while holding my phone/camera.
2: this and the first photo show using the bag as a clutch. I found that the strap can disappear into an outside pocket.
3: bag as crossbody
Trousers: AT Signature lined wool Glen plaid
Pull over sweater: Dillard's house brand cashmere from several years ago.
Belt: black thrifted Talbots leather with gold buckle
Bag: black Kooba with gold hardware.
Booties: Impo black pointy toe with low heel
Watch MK gold tone
Comments and suggestions welcomed for improvement. A big hug and thank you to Shannon for posting her outfit!
ETA: I was still cold and added a leather jacket for more warmth, a gorgeous gift from San. It's gold hardware feels right with everything else. Added 2 photos.
