I 'm posting this early for my 30x30 WIWs because the jacket reminds me of Angie's blog post today, although not a kimono. Yesterday I wore an old and well-loved Oriental style silk jacket over an EF shift dress for church, both in my 30x30. I wear this jacket with pencil skirts and jeans with black, chambray blue or aqua top under it. Now I want to wear it with my black wide crops. It has a button front and can be buttoned up to be worn as a blouse. Perfect for travel and layering.
My question is do you like the outfit best with or without the belt? A different style belt? I'd love any suggestions for styling and comments you have. I included 3/4 so you could see the shape of the dress. Does the jacket work with this dress? Better with a more fitted dress like a sheath?

30x30: outfits so far this week
So far I have stuck to the items pulled for this challenge.
1-2: Monday. 1 is for the Botanic Gardens and 2 for an evening meeting. I did not like the shortness of the striped top in 1 but though I would remove it as a topper. It was cool out so it stayed on. I have a cotton layering tank underneath. Got the evening I added the black button down linen dress as a duster.
Tuesday: 3/4 black EF skinny Ponte pants (rolled) with black EF assemmetrical top. This was for running errands and grabbing a bite to eat at a brew pub. I liked this column of black.
Wednesday 5/6: a hospital procedure for DH, errands and dinner out. The top is an old one that I was advised to have altered to remove the tie but have not done it yet. I included this in the capsule for July 4th, but will need to wear it.
Thursday: 7. I decided on this print top ( butterflies) instead of the similar floral because ruffles. Here worn with cropped jeans for sandbox and play on the floor with DGS. Worked out fine.
Friday: 8. EF linen blend skirt and white tee( decorated with stickers by DGS), EF cardigan. It is quite cool today. Errands.
I will return later to add musings from the week. Dog wants to be walked NOW.

Some Recent Casual Dresses over White Jeans plus a Summer Scarf
Inspired by Angie's post, recently I tried some summer dresses over cropped white jeans. I'm still not sure about this look on myself and welcome your suggestions and comments. I added summer scarves, although the first is just silly, a top used as a scarf.?

Wide pants; cropped top
Inspired by Angie's post. These are already about 3 inches above my ankle bone. The photo angle makes them look longer. Should I shorten them?

RedCroppedChinos for the Farmers' Market
Angie inspired. Red chinos are from the Loft; top is a soft cotton button down blouse from Citron Santa Monica; jean jacket is from Target and slip on athletic shoes are Munro; bag is thrifted and leather with Solina embossed inside; hat is from Cosco and finally a hat that fits my small head! Comments and suggestions welcomed. Is this too much? Too many colors in one outfit?

Topper Lab for Peach Chinos
Inspired by Angie's ensemble post with chinos, I got distracted by topper possibilities. Which of these look best to you? I am open to all suggestions and have other options for tops and footwear. For this post I just used a white/pale grey silk shell as a top and Fossil tan belt. The shell is too open at the neck for me and needs some pearls and/or a scarf.
1: pale blue jean jacket. Too cropped?
2: darker, longer jean jacket
3/4: linen kimono jacket shown open and belted. This is most "me" of the group.
5: peach linen cardi
6: lace bomber
7: black floral bomber
8: long linen cardi
I would love to have your thoughts on these outfits. What works and what does not?

Inspired by Runcarla's red crops
Runcarla showed us her red crops with a white tee and silver sneakers. I had to copy but added a red summer scarf and silver necklace, because I'm a bit maximal. Included is a version showing Angie's compliment of scarf, shoes and bag in a non neutral color. I add a belt when I can find one to this compliment group but don't usually wear them all at the same time. It just gives options when trying to pull an outfit together.
1/2: Runcarla inspire
3: shows tomato red scarf/bag/shoes/belt compliment

Some outfits with pastels
Some of my past outfits with pastels. Most show Angie's hints of choice of pastel and pairing with a dark neutral. Do any make me look washed out?

Sunday Summer Cinnamon
When I saw Angie's cinnamon post, I knew I could do this but needed a warmer day. Yesterday was the first day that it felt like summer. 1-3 is what I wore to church. The skirt is dark blue denim. Top and topper are EF, silk top and linen cardigan. Photo 3 is a necklace of my mother's from the 40's, an early plastic.
4 is the top part worn more casually with cropped jeans for an afternoon trip to a farm run by the Denver Botanical Gardens. 5 is Angie's ensemble from her blog. I changed into the flats shown below.
Looking at the photos, something seems off. I welcome your comments and suggestions.
