Another fall capsule for the warm days of September and October. I probably need to add more neutrals like denim clams to make this workable. The jeans will be too warm unless rolled.
I welcome your thoughts and ideas

August Challenge Week 4: hot Fall capsules: red and brown
Casual Ink, Chartreuse & White with Una's shirt. ETA another version of the ensemble
Inspired by Angie's post this morning I shopped my closet and used Hudson dark denim jeans, a JCrew chartreuse from Una via The Style Exchange, and white gingham shirt and Trove almost white loafers withan ancient blue leather shoulder bag that keeps getting rescued from the donate bag. How does this look? Would more white be better? Should the bag be retired as too dated.
ETA photo 2: a different version of the ensemble colors. Target chartreuse jeans, Target white tee, thrifted JJill unlined linen jacket. AGL sneaker/oxfords.

August Challenge 4: make some hot fall capsules
This last week of August I find that I desperately need to build some capsules for the hot Autumn days of September and even October. Yesterday I carved out an olive and orange capsule to which I can add white or other neutrals. There are other pieces I can add, such as my orange blazer and white denim jacket and white and olive jeans, when it gets cooler.
These combinations seem to work in my head but may not hold up when actually worn.
Comments and suggestions are welcomed. What else do I need to add? What doesn't belong?
Inspired by Diana: Black, White and Light Blue
Inspired by Angie's ensemble post and this post from Diana:

Sorry for the poor photos. The sun was too strong this morning. I may get a chance to try again later but I hope that you can get the idea.
Suggestions and comments welcome. The white top (Tony Bahama) is thrifted from a couple of years ago. Is it too short?

August Challenge Wk 3: Soft Pants
Week 3 of my August challenge continues featuring soft pants from my summer hot weather closet. These are casual outfits. The first 2 were inspired by Angie's olive/orange/white ensemble. There may be a summer ensemble in these colors lurking in my summer closet after all.
1: EF olive crepe pants rolled with cream Express top and Bandalino leopard pumps. I later changed into leopard flats for an El Salvadorian breakfast and the Farmers Market. Orange bag is from Target.
2: same pants with orange graphic tee and white denim jacket.
3: very casual EF grey crepe pants rolled with EF citron linen top. Great for a really hot day.
4: later on the same day, the same EF pants with a Classiques Entiere silk top and EF white vest to go out.
5: EF Blush and white linen pants
6: Citron brand black silk crinkle pants with Classiques Entiere blue silk top.
7: striped rash guard and EF navy crepe pants. Comfortable but the outfit felt very predictable and ordinary.
8: Jolie black silk track pants with CE plum silk top.
9: same pants with EF black silk tank and pale blue cardigan for a/c. Too mumsy?
I appreciate your comments and styling ideas. Everything was styled for comfort but I'd like to know what you think works or doesn't.

WIW: Burgundy and Blush for a hot day
My personal August Challenge this week is to wear soft ( none denim or twill) pants. Today I used Angie's latest ensemble as inspiration to shop my closet. I have burgundy jeans but it is still too hot for jeans. Instead, I started with last year's Old Navy linen pants, a Target blush tank under an EF blush cardigan, blush wedge sandals and a burgundy glazed leather bag. The sandals did not stay on very long but I liked the look.
What do you think? Does this wash me out. The cardigan is several years old. Does it still look ok? How about the volume on both top and bottom? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Repeat or no repeat?

August Challenge: Skirt Week
After a week of dresses, I took on the skirts in my summer closet. I learned that dresses are immensely easier to style than skirts.
I'm not thrilled with most of these outfits. They were put together and photographed in a hurry.
1: VC leopard tube skirt with Fender tee and layered necklaces. Not sure I liked the necklaces but they were appropriate for the occasion.
2: old Carole Little rayon animal print long skirt and matching top, worn casually. DH called this "matronly". Anybody want this 2 piece set? The skirt wraps with button closing.
3: EF black tube skirt with fluid top. I liked this but am open to improvements.
4: leopard tube skirt again with linen top half tucked and sleeveless jacket. This was ok for a hot day.
5: linen pencil skirt with old EF top.
6-7: Same day, same skirt. Top was changed due to heat
8: very casual white denim Jean skirt with thrifted striped top. Should I toss this top? The skirt?
9: Today for church, VC lace tube skirt and blouse with a lace design. I liked these together and wondered why I had not put them together before. I wish the photo were better.
Many, if not all would be better with toppers, but it was just too hot.
I appreciate your comments and ideas.

K/R: YLF, Do These Make My Feet Look Big?
I know I have big feet for my size and have learned to appreciate them anyway. I'd like your thoughts on these shoes.
I've long wanted flat white/off white cool or cold weather shoes and ordered the Trove loafer hybrids last spring. Then it turned too hot to wear them. Yesterday I found the ivory AGL oxfords at The Rack. I don't know that I need both pair.
The third pair are FS. I need some brown, caramel or cognac. What do you think of these?
I could keep all or none but want to look somewhat modern, yet comfortable. I see too many old lady comfort shoes and hope to avoid that for at least awhile longer.
1-3: Trove loafer
4-6: AGL Oxford
7-9: Franco Sarto loafer
What should I return? Should I keep looking? Are these JFE on my big feet or unflattering?

Casual black dress and Part 2 of Aug. Challenge Frock Week ETA: Another dotty dress
1/2: Angie's blog post was timely as I dressed up her casual black dress ensemble for a funeral. EF black dress, layered gold necklaces, Me Too low heeled patent pumps, Ted Baker clutch, Citron Santa Monica silk jacket, EF obi belt.
3-5: a more casual version of the ensemble and variations worn the same day. A thrifted Express black dress, white denm vest added, EF linen cardi and Zulu bead necklaces.
6/7: J Jill aqua dress
8-11: the other side of the reversible dress fron Part 1. 11 is a close up of a Peruvian necklace from a friend. This day, for Angie, I tried something different with my hair, putting in rollers after washing it for more volume.
12: pink EF dress. Worn casually with espadrilles
13: Chambray dress worn over faded rolled jeans.
For Angie and part of my challenge, some of these dress outfits have no black. On the other hand you see that I have several black dresses. They are workhorses and establish a basic to change with toppers and accessories.
Please tell me very honestly what you think looks good and what isn't working. I'd love your ideas for styling too. For me the biggest fail in this group is the pink dress outfit because I don't like it with the espadrilles. I didn't get a photo but later changed into my sapphire blue dress of the same shape and the black ankle-strap shoes. I also felt that I had too much going on in #2. I think a scarf would have been better than the gold necklaces but it wS too hot.

Urgent K/R Eileen Fisher 3 day return window
Yesterday pm I happened across some recent EF markdowns to 65% off and had to bring some things home to try with pieces I have. I tried on quickly and snapped some photos. Now I really need your help to determine what should be returned tomorrow.
1-5: long bone silk buttondown piece shown over bone EFskirt and EF silver pants ( the pants are also up for consideration.
6. EF old linen cardigan I own to be compared to the long one(7-8). These are much alike in color and linen cable knit except for length. I want to know if the long one is fab enough to keep.
9: EF silver pants and matching tank. I would not wear the tank on its own but layered under something else. The pants style is a favorite. I have them in a bit darker grey and a couple other colors. I thought this pale grey would work well with bone and other light neutrals, but what do you think? The silver color is not metallic, just a clear grey.
10-13: same silver pieces with things I own already.
14-17: EF soft white linen pullover with high -low hem, shown with the skirt and with pants. I have lots more that I could wear this with if it gets your approval.
I need your thoughts. The long silhouettes are problematic to my eye. I think I like them but are they overwhelming or off on proportions? Please let me know what you like and what you don't ASAP. I should do returns tomorrow.
