WIW: a Refined Sweatshirt at last and Halloween

It's just cool and rainy enough that my Miz Mooz black and white oxfords from a couple of years ago are making a reappearance.
1: I spotted this black and white houndstooth sweatshirt at Target from across a crowded aisle and it was love at first sight. I think someone else posted this shirt and planted a seed that something good might be waiting in the clothing section. It is sweatshirt fabric on the back and sleeves and silky in front. I wish it were a petite as it is just a bit too long to faux tuck the banded bottom like I want to, but it may shrink a little.
2: Same outfit with Kut Catherine boyfriends rolled a bit to show some ankle skin. I don't think this is working that well on me. Do you prefer 1 or 2 or should I roll higher?
3: Today's outfit inspired by Halloween. Pleione sheer top with a bright tomato tank underneath, black Gap Really Skinny jeans, thrifted belt. I tried a semi tuck to deal with the fullness of the blouse. Does it look silly on me? Should I wear a black or other color belt instead of the bright one?
Both outfits were topped by the bright pink trench for October.
Are proportions working on these outfits? Do the oxfords make too much going on?

WIW: Copying Ceit and today's super casual with pink

Yesterday I tried a version of Ceit's persimmon top with pin stripes and Petty Pythons:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....and-pettys
I was going to wear a white top under the blazer but this light grey seemed to look better. Is it working? Are you getting sick of this blazer yet?
Today (3-5), is a really casual day. Jeans are Hudson's, grey topper from Target, white tee from Gap years ago. Franco Sarto loafers. I'm wearing my thrifted pink trench for a rainy day errands run. Is the top best long or semi-tucked? I couldn't decide. Comments and suggestions are so helpful!

WIW: Last week's not yet posted: Sveta inspired, and church and casual

1/2: Sveta inspired outfit with black sweater and plaid trousers, and the orange VC blazer. With Munro ankle boots. Showing the jacket open and buttoned. The trousers and I are a little worse for wear at the end of the day. Too much black and orange?
3/4: Worn to Church and World Blues concert (featuring South African Vusi Mahlasela). I tried some pattern mixing. Classiques Entiere skirt and Halogen jacket, Munro ankle boots. Do the boots work with the skirt? Are they too wide in the shaft?
5: tried to replace #3 with this photo of the outfit and couldn't do it.
6: casual. brown Ponte knit pants, old Nygard cat tee under Gibson knit jacket, Born sneakers ( later changed to brown patent oxfords). Not sure I'm liking the fit of the pants. They are sized up.
7: Greenish grey H&M jeans, thrifted striped to and belt, Hinge jacket. MeToo pumps. I got compliments from younger women wearing this but now not sure seeing the photos. The pants are sized way up and not at all tight. Is the crotch too saggy? The photo was taken after wearing several hours.
I appreciate your thoughts on these outfits, what works and suggestions for improvements.

Keep or Toss? Eclectic or Quirky? Help needed.

I bought a top some time ago at a consignment shop sale rack because I was attracted to the mandarin collar and brown color. It is 100% rayon and can be hand washed. Thinking of Angie's post on patterns I pulled it out because of the "skirt" of semi sheer vintage pattern on the bottom. The photos below show the top with loose brown VC leggings, but skinny denim jeans could be another option. The fabric is all semi sheer with the brown embroidered part lined in brown. I'm showing it buttoned up and partly unbuttoned. Too quirky for my style or interesting? Can it be used? What if I cut off the patterned part leaving a cropped boxy brown top with side slits? Keep or toss?

More WIW last week: Leopard, Lace, and Polkadots

To avoid too many photos in one post, I put the white pants in the other WIW and everything else here.
1: blush jeans with sheer leopard top over blush tank, python belt and pewter athletic flats for lots of walking.
2/3: VC lace tube skirt from the Rack. I need a short boxy top for this. I'm not sure this outfit worked but tried for a mix of texture.
4: VC red trousers that I lengthened as much as possible. Is it enough? The topper was a wrap top now with strings removed. Does it look ok as a cascading cardi? It is the right weight.
5: for church I wore my silk Classiques Entiere flared polkadot skirt, a white Gap tee and wonderful moto jacket from dear Sandy. Happiness is always over the top with this jacket. 6 is the clutch I used. It has gold hardwear like the jacket. Shoes are MeToo.
Please tell me what you think works and what doesn't and any suggestions to try. The hair will be shorter after Thursday.

WIW: More White Pants in October

Wearing white pants in late October was so much fun that I repeated often last week.
1/2: winter white trousers without and with a belt. I'm not sure the proportions worked either way. What do you think?
3/4/5: combining Angie's white jeans formula with pink for breast cancer awareness and with my brown Halogen leather moto jacket. Again, I'm not sure about the proportions. These are the Kut Catherine boyfriend jeans. I added the scarf to try to pull things together a bit more. Is it ok?
6/7: more of Angie's cool weather white jeans formula, this time with taupe. The Talbots top looks a bit lumpy with a lace camisole under it, I'm afraid. Booties are my newest purchase...SE Petty putty. They are soft leather and more giving and comfortable than the pythons for anyone considering them.
The peacoat is a VC navy version from last year. Is it too short here?
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. I'm getting a haircut this week.

Inspired by Angie: My Pink October Coat

This is a quickly thrown together Angie- inspired outfit from her blog post today to show you my Goodwill shocking pink trench from Jones New York. I found this last fall and it is the perfect weight for our spring/fall cool days with lots (maybe too much) room to layer underneath.
I also tried to do a casual inspired version of black pants (in this case, back Kut Diana skinnies) and white patterned sweater. The pattern, if you use your imagination, may be the black tank peeking through the open weave H&M white pullover and snake belt and SE Petty Pythons.
I'll probably keep the coat for awhile even if it is too big as I enjoy the color. Suggestions for wearing it are appreciated. Is it worth getting the sleeves shortened? Does the oversized fit look ok? I welcome your comments and honest opinions.

WIW: Angie's Post Ensemble Attempt

Today I made a quick attempt at cropped top over boot cuts as in Angie's post. It's not very polished. Does this work on me? Is the top too short? Not drapey enough?
These are old jeans. Are they too long for these booties? I'd love to know your thoughts. Shall I pursue this look or forget it? How can it be improved?
The last photo is or should be hidden as it accidentally got added

WIW: Evolving today's outfit

Today the temperatures started out cool, got warm and will cool off this evening. I spent most of the day at home (1-2), then changed for a class (3). The last outfit (4) is what I plan to wear for an evening casual gathering. This is a typical outfit for me. Suggestions welcomed!
