Seasons and Nature Challenge 2

This interpretation was better in my mind than it worked out. The black/grey on top sides and white snow at the bottom with a center vertical line caught my attention. I tried to replicate with white denim bottoms and stone-colored top under a linen kimono jacket that reminded me a little of the trees at the sides. I forgot a belt but went with a grey/pewter one. I am off with proportions and too much white at the bottom.
It is still warm and even this unlined linen jacket was too warm, but I am trying to do the challenge with summer weight clothing. How did I do?
Do the new Joe's jeans look ok? I needed to replace my several seasons old AT white denim clam diggers.

I think that jacket totally evokes the picture. I think it worked out.

Thank you, Lynn, Ankita, and Donna. I forgot to say that I ended up buttoning the bottom 2 buttons and felt it looked more like the photo. I wore this to a ladies' meeting last night.

    I think it works great!

How did you do?? I think you did amazingly! Love the look of the lines in the print of your kimono jacket. The light column underneath is great too and proportions look fine to my eye.

WOW. Killer interpretation, Joy. I LOVE the length of those jeans.

I love this outfit, Joy. One of the best interpretations I've seen so far. Your jacket brings that photo to life....GORGEOUS! I give you 10/10!!!

  • Sara L. replied 8 years ago

Nice!  I love how the vertical lines of the jacket mimic the vertical lines of the photo.  Very interesting interpretation.

Looking at the pictures but before I read your post, my first thought was that your look was the summer equivalent of the photo. And then I read the post, so well done! I think the new white jeans look fantastic on you too.

Lovely look Joy, I think it worked very well and I can see echoes of the picture!

This outfit is great, Joy. The jeans are just right on you, and look great with the flats. Such a gorgeous jacket, too. I can definitely see the photo inspiration here.

I think this worked out fabulously well! The jacket really captures the photo and the new jeans look great on you!

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

Very nice! I love how you interpreted the picture.

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Are you kidding? I think this is fantastic!! The jacket really does recall the photo.

I know what you mean about trying to dress for fall in summer weather. We still have that, too. I haven't even been able to dip my toe into the challenge because my summer clothes just won't do it.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Hmm, why do you think this is a fail? White jeans are excellent with the shoes.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Shevia, I thought the outfit would come closer to looking like the photo but think I overdid the white. Maybe a long black cardi or jacket would have come closer.
Suz, I know. I can think of warmer outfits for some of these photos but the pieces are still packed away.
Mary, Firecracker, Dee and Angie, I am so happy that the white jeans have your approval.
Kari, Sally, WordLily, Shedev, and Astrid, thank you for the confidence boost.
Diane, Maneera, and Sara, it makes me smile that you can see what I was trying to do with this jacket.

So cool, Joy.  What a fabulous jacket.  Very clever interpretation.

What a stunning jacket! Even open the jacket mimics the photo quite nicely. (I did this photo today and decided to go with more dark than more white since that's the opposite of my usual inclination. But honestly I LOVE how much white you've got here :D ) The jeans look super, I am digging the giant roll.
