WIW: Red and Dark Brown

Inspired by Angie's ensemble post, I shopped my closet.
Dark brown Ponte pants from Chicos last year
Dark red men's small merino wool turtleneck left behind by DS
Old woven wool RL scarf
Old ECCO boots back from cobbler with buckle strap shortened so that they fit my narrow leg better.
Bag from Tignanello several years old. I wish I had teal bag
Is this working? Is the oversized turtleneck too oversized? I could shrink it. Do the pants look too baggy tucked into boots? Tell me the truth. I could tweak the outfit and wear dark brown oxfords and a more fitted bright red sweater. I also have other scarf possibilities and brown leather pants.

WIW: Staying Warm in a Frock

Here are a few recent skirt and dress outfits. I am using some of Angie's suggestions to stay warm enough. I also tried to vary my silhouettes, but I have few warm pieces so it is harder to get variety.
1: Warm knit/Winter Fabrications/ Knee high boots: Alpaca sweater dress with knee high boots. Fluid silhouette.
2: With Thermal undergarments. Fitted over fitted silhouette. I have a silk long sleeved tee under the shirt and bike shorts length layer and slip under the skirt. Do you think the top and bottom are too high contrast here for my height?
3: Jacket under a coat. Fitted over volume silhouette.
4/5: Jacket under a coat/Warm knitwear. The last photo is of the wool tee layered under the jacket. The skirt is a pleated knit wool blend. Volume over volume silhouette. Too much volume on me? I look at the photo and feel fat.
I welcome your comments and suggestions for improvement and other styling ideas.

K/R: Trying to make a decision on these tall boots

Recently I've shown you these boots with a couple of pairs of jeans but now realize that I size up in skinny jeans and they are not really skinny enough for tucking into boots.
This time I'm showing them with a skirt outfit that I wore recently. I don't wear skirts above my knees. Do these boots work? Would shorter be better? I love these boots but they are expensive for me and I don't want to make a mistake. I don't want to keep the but still be looking for a more perfect one. I think they fit as close to my leg as I'm likely to find and are comfortable. I don't think the foot looks as big in real life as in the photo.
I am eager to have your thoughts. What do you think?
1/2 with pleated knit skirt
3/4 with jeans shown on previous posts.
ETA: boots with a shorter sweater dress.

K/R: more fancy pants, shiny metallic edition

Can you stand another pair of unconventional jeans on an old woman? These are not really styled but are they ok for me to wear? The jeans have a fair amount of black in them so pairing with a black top seems a no brainier to let them shine. I'm thinking of using my black tuxedo style jacket or black leather jacket with bright gold hardware to dress them up for some holiday events.
I saw these at the Rack and was inspired by Angie's gold pants to try them. Shall I work at styling them or return them ASAP? Do the tall boots work here? These are the same Aquatalia pair that are under consideration and that we're in the plaid jeans thread.
Please be blunt. What would you think if you saw a grey-haired granny sporting these at a restaurant? They are sized up to be loose.
Yay= I'm not scarred for life seeing these on you. Go ahead with styling trials.
Nay=Ack, what were you thinking?! Burn them.

K/R: plaid Jolt jeans

I found these Jolt plaid jeans that some of you have at the Rack this weekend. They would be a good casual holiday look but are they for me? Shown here with a simple tee to show the jeans fit and with a few ways that I'm thinking of styling.
1: with a tee. I probably would not just wear this. If too warm for a sweater, I would wear a buttondown chambray, black or white shirt. Here they are tucked into tall boots. The boots may also be a K/R. I'm wearing them around the house to see if they are comfortable. Do the jeans look ok tucked?
2: with a short chunky sweater and cuffed with short boots
3: with a long chunky sweater and full length with short boots
Please be brutally honest. I sized up in the Jr sized jeans to get some slouch. Should I wear these in a casual public setting or return them? If keep, I'd love suggestions for styling. Do they work cuffed? Long or short top length?
