Some outfits with pastels

Some of my past outfits with pastels. Most show Angie's hints of choice of pastel and pairing with a dark neutral. Do any make me look washed out?

I love the dusky pink jeans! They blend with other pastel colours beautifully

I don't think any make you look washed out.

So many lovely outfits! My favourites are #3, #10 and #11. The pale blouse in #2 could need a little more contrast.

You are my icon.  You look amazing in all of them!

Pastel colours are your palette and you really look wonderful on that colours Joy. You are always my inspiration for pastels .

Pastels suit you very nicely. You don't look washed out at all in them.

I love 7 so much! They're all cute.

7 is incredible! I love the top too on the last pic especially.

You look terrific in pastels. For me one reason they work so well is your crisp hair, tailored style and modern pieces. They look so chic.

I think you're made to wear pastels - they don't wash you out at all. I particularly the colour + shape of the top in #14 paired with white pants.

Thank you all so much for your comments. The sweater in 7 was an impulse buy during the Polar Vortex year, when I decided that I really needed a cold spring capsule. These are outfits especially for cold spring/ late winter days.

You sure know your pastels! My fave is 3.

I don't see how anything could make you look washed out, Joy--you always seem lit from within.  All of these outfits are beautiful.  Not sure I could pick a favorite, but that pale mint combo is yummy.

As Angie would say, you are the Queen of Pastels. You wear them son well. I don't think any of these outfits washes you out.

  • Aquamarine replied 6 years ago

I agree that you can rock the pastels, Joy. They look so pretty next to your hair, especially. I don't think they wash you out at all.

  • cobaltblue replied 6 years ago

I love these pastels on you. Your lovely hair always brings the bright white Angie suggests in her blog post, completely preventing any wash-out. The mints are my favorite.

  • bridgie replied 6 years ago

I can not specify a favorite.  All outfits are great on you.  No way you look washed out.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Cobaltblue, I enjoyed reading your thoughts about the hair being the bright white.
JAileen, many of these "pastels" are closer to midtones but I am fine with that. I'm working my way toward true pastels gradually, but both warm and cool seem to work.
Tulle, I am surprised how much I like mint.
Thank you, Dianna, Aquamarine, and Bridgie. I think my dark eyes naturally help keep pastels from washing me out sometimes.

5, 10, and 14 jumped out but the greens are gorgeous - I just couldn't see your face!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

    Shevia, you are very kind.

  • Summer replied 6 years ago

Not washed out at all.  You look lovely, Joy.

I like them all, I wonder though if 2 and 6 don't do quite as much for your colouring? My fave is 13 because of the amazing floral bomber over the pastel top and how the pale flowers match the top. Also possibly the contrast of that one is good?

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Summer and Jenni. Jenni, I see what you mean about 2 and 6. 2 is an experiment in yellow. These shades are not my best, but I am not sure what my best yellow is. It used to be a pale/ midtone gold shade, but I've not seen that color for ages and am not sure if it would still work. I love yellow on white haired ladies with a deeper skin tone, so maybe some tan would help.

    You CUTIE PATOOTIE.

    #5, 7 and 10 are my faves.

    Thank you, Angie.
