Sunday Summer Cinnamon

When I saw Angie's cinnamon post, I knew I could do this but needed a warmer day. Yesterday was the first day that it felt like summer. 1-3 is what I wore to church. The skirt is dark blue denim. Top and topper are EF, silk top and linen cardigan. Photo 3 is a necklace of my mother's from the 40's, an early plastic.
4 is the top part worn more casually with cropped jeans for an afternoon trip to a farm run by the Denver Botanical Gardens. 5 is Angie's ensemble from her blog. I changed into the flats shown below.
Looking at the photos, something seems off. I welcome your comments and suggestions.

Pretty! I don't know, I don't see anything off. I have to say that I have a preference for outfit nr. 2 - the different hem lengths make it more interesting in my opinion .

    Killer

    You NAILED it.

I like both outfits!  That necklace is fabulous.

Thank you, Sisi. Angie, I'm sure that I don't look as fab as the lady you saw, but the happiness factor was high. Cinnamon is something I usually wear in fall or late summer, so this was a big change. I think it could also work with some peach and cream for spring.

I don't see anything a miss here, you nailed this combination, bravo!

I really like the combo of the topper and the tank, and especially like the polished nature with the crop jeans.

I think you have everything right. Nothing seems off to me. And, I love your mother's vintage necklace.

Lovely colours and tones - looks great to my eye!

  • JAileen replied 6 years ago

Both great outfits! The bag is gorgeous and ties everything together.

Thank you, Sara, Lisa, delurked, citygirldc, Jane and JAileen. I plan to repeat these outfits and others with cinnamon, maybe with peach or melon and cream :)
Any time I can wear my mother's necklace adds happiness. I think my Dad made it or bought it for her.

Nothing is off.  I prefer the outfit with the jeans, it looks more modern.  Maybe the skirt length which matches the duster length comes off more traditional?  Appropriate for church services though.

Super, I love both outfits, maybe more with jeans .The bag is beautiful and ties everything together. Gorgeous.

Oooh I love this Joy.  I prefer the jeans outfit.  I think the hems of the cardigan and skirts are too similar but that is a minor detail.  What a great necklace!  And such a lovely memory that goes with it.

Nothing looks off to my eye at all! I love this shade of red for you! It looks great! Your bag is beautiful! Wow!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. The bag was a gift from a friend, so another high happiness piece. I wonder if a lighter denim skirt would be better than the one I am wearing.

Bote outfits are great Joy. I like everything about them. The necklace is beautiful.

  • Aquamarine replied 6 years ago

Looks great, Joy. But I have to say, the second outfit hit it out of the park for me. So current!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you Dianna and Aquamarine. The necklace is a good balance between casual and a bit dressy. The second outfit was my favorite too.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Both are wonderful on you and the necklace is fantastic.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

    Thank you, Shevia.
