RedCroppedChinos for the Farmers' Market

Angie inspired. Red chinos are from the Loft; top is a soft cotton button down blouse from Citron Santa Monica; jean jacket is from Target and slip on athletic shoes are Munro; bag is thrifted and leather with Solina embossed inside; hat is from Cosco and finally a hat that fits my small head! Comments and suggestions welcomed. Is this too much? Too many colors in one outfit?

Super cute, Joy...not too many colors at all. For me I would need to wear the blouse untucked but you wear this well...what a perfect farmers market outfit:)

  • bridgie replied 6 years ago

Not too many colors.  Everything perfect.  No 2 is my favorite and you probably can guess why.  The hat completes the outfit.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you Carole and bridge for the confidence boost. Carole, this top is cute untucked with it's longer hem in the back. I have worn it unbuttoned over a blue tank as a very light jacket.
Bridge, I have a difficult time finding hats that will stay on my head. This one is a winner. I wish the brim were slightly smaller but it does a great job of shading from sun

Too many colors? Are you kidding? It looks great, especially the hat. Hats are usually too small for me, with my fat head. :(

  • Aquamarine replied 6 years ago

It's perfect, Joy. Definitely not too many colors.

  • Mirjana replied 6 years ago

Not too many colors super I love red chinos, you look lovely.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, JAileen, Aquamarine and Mirjana. I am enjoying these red chinos a lot lately and hope they are not too warm to wear in high summer. They are a heavier cotton fabric than most chinos but not lined.
I have a lighter weight pair of red trousers, but they are full length and a more blue-red. In spite of the lighter weight, they already feel too warm.

Maximal fun! Love #2.Everyone should have a great pair of red chinos or pants!

  • Dianna replied 6 years ago

    That's a perfect outfit for farmer's market.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Not too much at all. The red chinos are great on you and the mix is vibrant but not overwhelming.

  • Tanya replied 6 years ago

Love this on you, Joy!  And I want that hat - I have a small head, too.  The colors are fresh and lovely and not too much at all.

  • Amy Isabella replied 6 years ago

I think the colours look great......and I want that hat too!

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

This is gorgeous on you, Joy! So much fun.

Not too much. Like the proportions a lot. And yay for finding a hat that works.

  • skylurker replied 6 years ago

A happy outfit, I like it. Too much colour ? No, we're accustomed to see tomato red paired with turquoise here ;)

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

    SUPER CUTE

I love tomato & turquoise, as Isabelle kindly reminded us.

Light shoes would look cute here too.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

I will have to figure out a what to pair these tomato pants with turquoise. It doesn't show up I did have on a turquoise bracelet :).
Navy, tomato red, and turquoise are my favorite colors together, maybe with some cobalt or green.
Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Delurked, thank you for commenting on proportions.

Red and turquoise are a natural together. Here's a pendant I have that combines those colors, and several others.

  • Christina F. replied 6 years ago

I think this all looks fantastic together. And I agree turquoise would make a killer combo. Have fun with that!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

JAileen, I love your bear pendant. We are always looking for bear things for DDIL who has a huge fear of them.
Christina, thank you. I don't have much turquoise but will see what can be pulled together. If all else fails, I can wear a pile of turquoise necklaces.

Perfect outfit for a farmers' market and fantastic blouse! I do not see too many colors together, I see 3 groups of colors that work very well together: the blues, the reds and the white/creams.

  • merwoman replied 6 years ago

Perfection - and I love the hat! I have the opposite problem Joy - I have difficulty finding hats that are big enough>
