You always look fab to mr Joy. I like all if these and woukd not change a thing. You are inspiring me to get some white bottoms.

Thank you, Ledonna. Your post today is inspiring me to get some bright green. Green with white bottoms should be a crisp look.

They all work, colour me surprised - I'm very dubious about this dress over trousers fashion and white jeans are not my thing either - but they all work very well.
I like the proportions of the longer, straighter, dress better # 4-5. I think I'd like it even better with the white scarf tied as # 7.

I am not sure about this look on myself too, my eyes are not accustomed to it ,but I like your outfit #4 and #7 great look .

These all work for you, and I think you have the proportions down pat! You are quite slender, so all 3 versions work. The last two toppers (waist surrendering?) work just a little better than the red with the drawstring waist since they provide a smoother line.

I love them all, Joy; you look great. This is my go-to look, and I just bought a white dress—which is actually long enough for me to wear as a dress for once!—specifically to wear over white jeans.

Kate, I would love to see your new white dress over white jeans. It sounds wonderful.
Skylurker, thank you for your helpful comments, especially about the scarf.
Mirjana, thank you for commenting on your preferences. It took me ages to think of wearing this type of outfit myself because I am short and easily overwhelmed.
Runcarla, you have no idea how thrilled I am that you think I have the proportions right! That drawstring is a pain, always hanging untied. I need to figure out how to remove it and the elastic underneath.

Is there anything you can't wear to perfection? These are amazing Joy - very elegant , and sophisticated! The only tweak I would consider is perhaps brighter/lighter footwear for outfit one?

Dianna replied 7 years ago
All three versions work. I agree with Runcarla that the denim and the black versions work slightly better, but you look fab in all three. As always, I love how you accesorize.

Joy replied 7 years ago
Merwoman, what a sweet thing to say. I'm thrilled when casual everyday outfits like these can look elegant or sophisticated. I see what you mean about the dark shoes with #1. I think my white fashion sneakers would work.
Thank you, Dianna, for your lovely words.

They all look great - proportions, colours, combinations. I particularly like the black with the check scarf + then picking up the black in the shoes. I love + wear this look often too!

I only really like the last outfit Joy. But you see, I don't wear scarves and only like denim for jeans, so just personal preference. Proportions are great in all. I especially love the shoes in the last outfit- perfect in this case.

Joy replied 7 years ago
Lozz_oz and Jenni, that last outfit felt the most "me". The black linen dress is a thrifted piece that I bought to play with, having in mind this sort of outfit. Thank you both for noting the proportions, my biggest problem in forming outfits...well that and good fit after wearing clothing too big for me most of my life, I don't have a feel for good fit.

I like them all, I think you look great in color so I love the red but I'm impressed at how elegant the last look is.

I like all of them, Joy! Nicely done. The lengths of the dresses and pants/jeans are really nice, to my eye.

Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you, Isabel and Firecracker. Thank you for your kind words and valuable input. This style is very new for me so I struggle.

I absolutely love them. The one with the denim dress is my favorite!
You look great in all of them!

Joy replied 7 years ago
Debbie! I was hoping that you would see this! Thank you.

I like all of these as well, joy. And I generally am not a fan of this look, but you put outfits together so well, I had to see what you had done here. Great proportions, both in the length of dress and the slimness of the pant legs.

You look great in them all, but my favourite is definitely the last one - super chic and elegant.

Angie replied 7 years ago
#6 works the best. Very nicely done.
Some thoughts:
- Lighter shoes for the other two combinations
- Wear jeans without the large cuff
-
Suz replied 7 years ago
Really love #6, Joy!!
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you for your encouragement, Elizabeth and AmyIsabella. All these pants are woven, not knits.
Suz and Angie, I liked how 6 turned out. The Joe's Jeans in 6/7 came with that big cuff sewn that way, but I have turned it up to make a smaller cuff on shortened jeans. I could make these into clam diggers. Would that be better? I will switch to lighter colored flats in the future, probably white sneakers, loafers, or ankle strap or pointy toe D'Orsay flats.

All look wonderful on you, Joy, but my favourites are 4 and 6.
