Topper Lab for Peach Chinos

Inspired by Angie's ensemble post with chinos, I got distracted by topper possibilities. Which of these look best to you? I am open to all suggestions and have other options for tops and footwear. For this post I just used a white/pale grey silk shell as a top and Fossil tan belt. The shell is too open at the neck for me and needs some pearls and/or a scarf.
1: pale blue jean jacket. Too cropped?
2: darker, longer jean jacket
3/4: linen kimono jacket shown open and belted. This is most "me" of the group.
5: peach linen cardi
6: lace bomber
7: black floral bomber
8: long linen cardi
I would love to have your thoughts on these outfits. What works and what does not?

Joy, I like 2, 5 and 6 better.  They look good as they are, but I agree with you that pearls and/or a scarf will take the outfit to another level.  Loved your footwear options for every outfit.

  • Angie replied 6 years ago

Joy, are those chinos? They look like skinny jeans. Not that it matters....

    I like #1, 5, 6  and 8 best.

  • Julie replied 6 years ago

I like 2 and 5 the best, they both look great and are a different vibe from each other.

OOh this is a toughie - I love 1 on you, and am having a hard time picking a favorite among the bombers.  And all the looks have such great colors to play with!

  • Mirjana replied 6 years ago

Joy, I like the pants no matter is it chinos or not .I like lighter versions, so I would wear #1,5 and 8.

  • replied 6 years ago

    They're all terrific.
I love the peach colour on you. And the fit looks great too.
My personal faves are the light jean jacket and the floral bomber (and I love those modern black shoes with it too).

You look very spunky in these outfits.

In order, my favorites are 7, 2, 1, 3, 5. The chinos are fab on you, and you have a nice variety of options here for wearing them.

  • JAileen replied 6 years ago

I like 1 best overall, but I also like 7, especially the black shoes.

  • always trying replied 6 years ago

1, 6 and 7.  7 with the black shoes would be my first choice.

  • Adela replied 6 years ago

Lovely! I'd say that 6 and 7 are my favourite, but all of them are very nice.

  • Sheila replied 6 years ago

    I like #4 & #6 the most.

  • Aquamarine replied 6 years ago

I think they all work for possibly different occasions. You can't go wrong with any of them, in my opinion. I think my favorite is the first one, however.

  • LaPed replied 6 years ago

1 and 7 are my favs, the belted kimono is great too.

  • harmonica replied 6 years ago

So hard to pick a favorite! They all work, but if I have to pick I'll go for 4, 5, 6 and 8. Pretty lace bomber!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you all for your votes. It is very interesting. It looks like #1 has a slight lead followed closely by 7, 6 and 5. Angie, thinking about these pants, I guess they are twill in a jean cut, so probably really skinny jeans. I will show you my wide leg chinos when they have been ironed. I need to ask about length too.

  • Carole replied 6 years ago

1 and 6 are my favs! Well done...I've got my peach chinos on today, the first time wearing them:) so we are sort of twins from afar!

  • texstyle replied 6 years ago

I actually like #2 a lot and then #1 - something about the color of the blue with the peach (complimentary colors).

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Carole and Texstyle. You are giving me thoughts of looking for a new, larger pale blue jean jacket. Carole, isn't peach a great color? It is almost a neutral with lots of other colors.

  • The Cat replied 6 years ago

My favourites are #4 and #5.

About # 1 and 2#: It can be difficult to wear three items in three different colours, with different lengths and in different styles. (Maybe easiest if you are really tall.) A solution could be to wear a top in a colour closer to that of your chinos. It doesn't need to match exactly, but even a lighter peach would contribute to the impression of a "column of colour", which may look more harmonious.

Hi Joy. I think I might agree with The Cat re 1 and 2. I thought it was just my poison eye for denim jackets ( I just don't like them and have never owned one in my whole life). She may be onto something.
I really like 3/4 with the peach flowers matching your pants and agree veryi "you".
The lace bomber is very pretty and at first I thought it was snakeskin so I wondered why you didn't wear the snakeskin-looking shoes with it? Could you try that?
And my absolute fave topper is your navy floral bomber which I would like to steal from you. However, I feel the dark shoes steal attention from it as the star of the show and would like to see less obvious shoes. I really like those shoes but maybe not in this combination.

I'm with smithie, liking the pale jean jacket and the floral kimono best. Looks like you have lots of options, Joy.

  • kerry replied 6 years ago

I like both denim jackets but a slight preference for the lighter one. Your colouring looks gorgeous in light palettes. I also love the lace bomber.

  • Bijou replied 6 years ago

My favourites are 1 and 6. I love these soft colours on you. The fit of your chinos is very flattering too.

  • TraceyLiz65 replied 6 years ago

Very nice selection of looks , none are bad, so you just showed the versatility of this outfit ensemble, lol.  My favorite was #7.

  • Zibbets replied 6 years ago

    I like 2, 3, 5, 7 & 8. My favorites are 3/4 and 7.
    Adorable!

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

The Cat, and Jenni, that is an excellent solution. I do have a lighter peach top.
Jenni, I see what you mean about the dark shoes with the bomber.
Runcarla, yes, I have lots of options. I forgot to include a peach cotton blazer and my white denim jacket, but the white jacket fits much like the pale blue one does and is worn mostly with summer dresses.
Kerry and Bijou, I agree that the lighter colors look best and are easiest to work with now.
Tracey, I am looking forward to shopping my closet for more ways to use Angie's ensemble ideas.
Zibbets, thank you for being so generous.
A huge thank you to everyone who took time to look and comment. It is. very helpful.

  • Carole replied 6 years ago

Yes, the peach I have is surprisingly neutral...like a bright beige! Thanks for inspiring me to wear mine;)

  • piccolakitten replied 6 years ago

Are the chinos peach ? They look kind of cinnamon .
Love both denim jackets, love the white lace bomber , really like the short cream candy for a casual look. I like the soft color blends with that peach I guess

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Carole, I think peach feels neutral because it can be a nude shade so not so far from beige.
Piccolakitten, they are a rather deep peach, more like the color of ripe peach on the outside and hang in the peach section of my closet. I also have cinnamon but it is a deeper color. Both seem like variations on orange.
