WIW: For Day of the Dead Altar Unveiling and Latin Jazz

This weekend I wore this outfit under my pink trench for a gallery celebration. Is it working? Do you like it best with or without the scarf? I need a pink jacket. Many women were wearing their October pink.
Jacket: Vince Camuto
Pants: Ponte charcoal grey Chicos
Belt: Thrifted
Tee: Eileen Fisher
Bag: thrifted Fossil leopard print
Booties: Bare Traps

Goodness, that is such a beautiful colour combination Joy.  I would NEVER think to put the coral and yellow together but it looks amazing.  I can't see the scarf???  I think you may have posted the same pic twice.  Stunning outfit.

Thank you, Deborah, I added a photo with the scarf at the end.

I do like the scarf version too Joy.  The outfit is a bit of a colour delight in a very good way.

Love the color combo!  You look great with and without the scarf!

Love it both with and without the scarf.

Wow, what an inspired outfit and so fitting for the occasion! So much fun. I prefer no scarf but if the scarf is necessary for warmth, it also looks great. So either way, you are fine.

Beautiful colors! I like it both with and without scarf. Thank you for sharing the lovely pictures from the celebration. I learned about that tradition when I was in Mexico last year, and I bought a beautiful Katerina doll with me home. It is a heartwarming tradition.

What a gorgeous, happy outfit. I don't know anything about this celebration
But it looks like fun :)

Love the bright colours, Joy! You look great. And it looks good both ways!

Awesome outfit! Very vibrant. I prefer no scarf as it allows the sharpness of the outfit to shine, but it looks good with the scarf too.

What a clever approach to color, and one that fits the artwork, too!  You mention needing a pink jaceket.  Are you looking for any particular shade?

  • Ornella replied 10 years ago

Beautiful. This shade of pink suddenly looks so versatile to me - and in combination with the top you're wearing I love how it accentuates the warmth of Autumn colours.

    I adore Frida Kahlo!

Beth Ann, pink is tricky with my skin tone because it can't be too blue. Fuchsia is usually not a good color on me. A clean midtone or pinkish coral is probably best. I do have a nude-ish blazer but it reads more camel than pink. Good question.

Love this. I prefer it without the scarf.

Great colors, and perfect for the day of the dead! Look how your colors coordinate with the altar!
I prefer it without the scarf, but the scarf really looks good with it, too.

    Love this. You look amazing.

You are as beautiful as a wild bird. Wow. xo

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Oh yes. I vote no scarf.

  • Vickie KY replied 10 years ago

I like it both ways but like it better without the scarf. I love the color combo - YLF.

Thank you all for taking time to look and comment. It sounds like it's best without the scarf but that the bright colors together work, at least for this event.
Angie, a bright wild bird! I love that!
I added a few photos I managed to get of others in their Cancer Awareness Month pink, but didn't get one of the woman with pink striped knee socks. I think the faces are obscured enough.
