WIW: Evolving today's outfit

Today the temperatures started out cool, got warm and will cool off this evening. I spent most of the day at home (1-2), then changed for a class (3). The last outfit (4) is what I plan to wear for an evening casual gathering. This is a typical outfit for me. Suggestions welcomed!

Joy I love all variation you have shown. Great outfits! Our weather is also jumping around. Cool in the morning and mid 80's to mid 90's in the afternoons. It is hard to know what to wear.

I think your hair is looking amazing lately!

Oh wow, Joy, no.4 has me gasping for air! So, so beautiful.

    Your hair is so lovely.

I love the little changes you have made to each iteration of your outfit.

Joy, do you have any idea how drop-dead GORGEOUS you are? Sheesh!! We should all take a page from your book. I love every one of these. Talk about day into evening. I know just what you mean by the varied temperatures. What I love about this is that it's the same outfit, but not the same outfit. Someone who happened to run into you at mid-day and then later on would be left thinking -- she looks amazing in blue, but isn't something different? Yet you could carry the whole changeup in your tote.

#4 blows me away, Joy. WOW. 11 out if 10.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

All day chic. You are fab!

  • Sharon replied 10 years ago

I love #4 too! The black just looks fabulous with that bright blue - those very intense colours look amazing on you!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Big thumbs up to all 4, but the last is really amazing.  BTW - In a world of pointy toes, it's great to see your classic, ladylike flats with rounded toes looking so polished and refined.

YLF - I agree with the others #4 is amazing.

You are all so kind with your comments! Angie, an 11! I think this is my first. I'm astonished and feel quite fab in this outfit as a result. The black jacket in #4 is a Nygaard tuxedo jacket that doesn't get enough wear. Silk tee is Equipment; Paige Roxie Capries.
Suz, you put an extra big smile on my face. BethAnn, I have a bunch of round toe flats but they are so comfortable. All of these are at least 3 years old.

All outfits look great! Love the cobalt on you!

This is fun to see. You handled the changing temps with aplomb.

Love the saturated colors on you and the proportions look perfect too.  I'm always so impressed with your beautiful posture and how that adds to your total appearance.

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Oh wow! The croped pants and saturated colors are all beautifull on you Joy!

I just love it when you get forum adoration, Joy. You are so very deserving and an inspiration to us all.

    Hi Joy --

My suggestion is that you bottle and sell whatever makes you look so wonderful in these photos...the colors are wonderful on you, of course, but that glow is an inner one.

I agree about your hair looking especially amazing these days; not sure if it's longer or a different part or what but it sure ain't broke.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Angie and Vix, you made my day! Your lovely comments would give anyone a happy glow. Vix, I'm about midway between haircuts and at a good length right now, but I think I am parting the hair further to the side. It may also be that we have had less heat and humidity.

I love the versions as the weather had changed and topped off by the stunner in #4. I am always inspired by how fresh (pairing blue with denim feels fresh to me!) and polished you look simultaneously. (And I have a love of the round toes too....)

Lovely! What a great demonstration of the difference in an outfit's tone a little switch in accessories can make.  And you saved the very best for last! You are stunning in these dark and clear colors. They really set off your hair and skin.

Joy, I love you in those cropped jeans.  You are sassy in them and, as a generally difficult item to wear, they flatter you very well.  Interesting to see the evolution of your day.   I think my favorite is #3, because I love those kinds of tops -- maybe a bit more roomy than Angie's fluid fit but not exactly oversized either.

Three pairs of shoes in one day!
You are a true Fashionista and inspiration :)

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Lyn, 3 pairs of shoes in a day does seem excessive. It's my way of getting down cost per wear;)
Actually it keeps my feet happy because any possible rubbing on an area is lessened. Diabetic feet don't tell you when they are hurting.
