Keep or Toss? Eclectic or Quirky? Help needed.

I bought a top some time ago at a consignment shop sale rack because I was attracted to the mandarin collar and brown color. It is 100% rayon and can be hand washed. Thinking of Angie's post on patterns I pulled it out because of the "skirt" of semi sheer vintage pattern on the bottom. The photos below show the top with loose brown VC leggings, but skinny denim jeans could be another option. The fabric is all semi sheer with the brown embroidered part lined in brown. I'm showing it buttoned up and partly unbuttoned. Too quirky for my style or interesting? Can it be used? What if I cut off the patterned part leaving a cropped boxy brown top with side slits? Keep or toss?

I like it! But eclectic and quirky are good things too me!

I loved it until I got to the close-ups.  It looks a tiny bit tired to me.

This look appeals to the arty/eclectic in me. Love the neckline and can definitely see why you gravitated to that piece. However, like MaryK points out, the closeup shows what looks to be some fading/wearing... not sure because it could just be the lighting. If it is, in fact, fading -- perhaps you should pass it on. Could it be dyed? Perhaps not because of the skirting

I get a heavy art history professor vibe to it. Sorry I say toss.

I think I'd pass on this one Joy - it doesn't seem up to your usual style.

While I love ecelectic items of clothing, this one looks a bit worn (if you get my drift). I say pass.

I thought it was ok until I saw the close ups too. It does look a little worn or tired.

I love your collective wisdom. This piece will be gone after I wash it for donation. If anyone wants it, PM me. It's an XS in some unknown to me brand (April Cornell) and made in India. I don't think it looks faded in real life. The embroidery is in a shinier thread that catches the light and looks lighter.
Thank you for your honest thoughts. You are the best

I think you made the right decision. I admit I didn't *get it*...

I agree with toss. I find these decisions hard at times, too, if I liked something about a fabric or color or detail. But, greater fabness awaits you!
