WIW: a Refined Sweatshirt at last and Halloween

It's just cool and rainy enough that my Miz Mooz black and white oxfords from a couple of years ago are making a reappearance.
1: I spotted this black and white houndstooth sweatshirt at Target from across a crowded aisle and it was love at first sight. I think someone else posted this shirt and planted a seed that something good might be waiting in the clothing section. It is sweatshirt fabric on the back and sleeves and silky in front. I wish it were a petite as it is just a bit too long to faux tuck the banded bottom like I want to, but it may shrink a little.
2: Same outfit with Kut Catherine boyfriends rolled a bit to show some ankle skin. I don't think this is working that well on me. Do you prefer 1 or 2 or should I roll higher?
3: Today's outfit inspired by Halloween. Pleione sheer top with a bright tomato tank underneath, black Gap Really Skinny jeans, thrifted belt. I tried a semi tuck to deal with the fullness of the blouse. Does it look silly on me? Should I wear a black or other color belt instead of the bright one?
Both outfits were topped by the bright pink trench for October.
Are proportions working on these outfits? Do the oxfords make too much going on?

    LOVE! The oxfords are terrific in these. I have that same Pleione blouse and you've given me a great idea on how to wear it. It always feels too dressy for me. The new sassy sweatshirt is so fab on you too! Happy Halloween :)

    Adore your sweatshirt Joy - it's perfect for your style. And those oxfords look fabulous - I like the cuff on the BF's so the whole shoe shows.

    ok, i have to go to target to return a pair of pants, so i'm adding looking for that sweater to my list.
    i love that the shoes work so well with both looks. (i prefer #1 vs #2, but thats a personal prefernce, both look good). love #3, i like the colored belt, but i'm wondering what it would look like with a white/cream belt to pick up the white in the shoes.

    I love your Halloween outfit.  I think you only have a quarter tuck goin' there though, try to widen it a bit perhaps.  The belt choice is great.

    I am BOLTING to Target to see if I can find your adorable houndstooth top.  It would be fun to try with a colored belt if you want a pop at the waist.  Or pull some color up to your face by keeping the black or white belt and adding a colored necklace or earring.

    Waving to Kellygirl and Bionda, my blouse triplets. I'm amazed at how many things this top can be worn with. It's an important part of my fall capsules.

    Joy, i'm in orbit too!  High happiness factor in both of these!  WHat a great Target find, and that blouse is just delicious.  I love the way you wear white jeans.

    That houndstooth sweatshirt is so cool! I love that outfit with the white jeans. I think I prefer them worn down, but if you're going to roll them I think I'd roll them up a little more.
    The second outfit is great, too!

    I tried on that sweatershirt, but it wasn't nearly as fab on me and in your outfit here!  Love it, AND the fun pinkish print!

    I love both outfits. I wouldn't change a thing, and no, not too much going on. I like the way the pink belt goes with the blouse, the oxfords go with the pants and also bring the eye back to the pattern in the blouse. Somehow the blocked pattern of the shoes plays nicely with the dots in the blouse! You've got a great eye to put that one all together.

    Oh I found this perfect sweatshirt at Target on the way to buy bicycle lights. No just kidding (and envious). I do love the sweatshirt - and the shoes - and both outfits fantastic!

    Love them both!  Maybe a black belt in the second outfit if you want a little less going on (don't change the shoes, I think they're great).

    Love, love, love the sweatshirt on you, Joy! I think I prefer the pants rolled down on the first photo. You look lovely in your Halloween outfit, too. Your trick-or-treaters will be in for a treat!

    Two lovely outfits. I can see why the Target top was love at first sight, it's perfection on you. I prefer the jeans in #1 unrolled best.

    So cute! I love the sweat shirt. I went looking for them a couple of weeks ago and our Target did not have a good selection. Maybe I need another trip there..
