WIW: 1-15 black and navy

Nothing new or special here. I wore 1/2 for a class.
Only Mine cashmere navy cable knit over a Brooks Brothers white shirt, Gap Really Skinny pants, MizMooz oxfords, MK watch, and a medley of pendants that were gifts from students.
3: what I wore to go workout, so super casual. Bob Dylan tee from Target, olive H&M skinny jeans, Halogen merino wool cardigan, Merrell sneakers.
Happiness factor and comfort were high for the black and navy outfit. I felt like the black and white shoes finished the outfit, but do you think that they were too much? I know the pendant grouping is a bit fussy but the students like to see them worn. Should I have stopped at one? Would a more oversized sweater be better? Your comments and suggestions are welcomed!

The navy and white is great and I rather like the pendant medly. I think it's lovely that you wear those fab gifts. The collar and cuffs and white on your shoes is fresh. I like that you wore the Dillon tee for your workout too, cool.

I love the navy, black and white outfit!! The oxfords play so well with the white cuffs. I love the necklaces as is. A bit maximal for me but it works IMO. Moreover when sentiments take over there's no stopping :)

I love the first outfit with the b&w shoes and the pendants make perfect sense in context and look good too. And I super love that you are wearing Dylan tee to work out.

I love both of these outfits! And how nice that you are wearing the gifts from the students!

You look so chic in navy and black. I do not think you need to go more oversized on the sweater. The look, as is, is lovely and refined. I love the pendant medley -- but I am a "maximalist". Oh… that Dylan shirt is fabulous!

Ooh! What a great outfit. I love how the shoe work with the navy and white up top -- that is genius. I need some shoes like that. And you look better in your workout gear than half of us look in our actual outfits!

Diane, Neel, Shevia and Ceit, I'm so glad that you think the pendants are ok to wear like this, at least for class. ElCee, thank you for commenting on the sweater size.

Suz, I was eyeing the black/ white KC loafers on Angie's black and grey post as a replacement for these oxfords but the oxfords are still in good shape. Thank you for your kind comment about my workout gear.

OMG Joy, you just keep hitting them out of the park!!  Love you in the blue with your white shirt peeking out!!  Great with the shoes.  You look better in your work out gear than most people do dressed!!  Just fabulous!!

I never wore shades of blue until my hair turned silver and I think it's one of the prettiest colors now. You always look so lovely in everything you wear. Just gorgeous.

Wow, you look fantastic! I adore the black and white oxfords and they are perfect with the white shirt collar and cuffs. I think the pendant medley works really well here with the clean, strong navy and black. Even your workout gear is fab!

I love both outfits. The shoes are terrific in 1. I think they add interest and they are not OTT. LOVE the laid back rocker style of 3. SO fab!

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Those black and white oxfords launch me into orbit. And you wear black and blue sooooo well. Of course your happiness factor was through the roof, Darling Joy.

You also have the cutest and most elegant workout style on the planet. You inspire me no end. (((HUGS))).

I absolutely love your navy and black outfit. The shoes are perfect with it, and I think the layered pendants look super and very on trend.

Your workout outfit is just as fun and cute as can be, too!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Gryffin, you are so kind. Thank you.
Ruthe, I never wore light neutrals and white much until my hair turned. Thank you for your sweet comment.
Carambola, Kelly and Angie, I'm glad the oxfords don't look OTT. I may wear them again later today.
Kelly, I don't hear rocker style much. That made my day.
Angie, I have to do what I can to make the treadmill fun and refuse to wear those jersey yoga things. I do get some admiring looks and sometimes conversation at the gym from the old guys there during the day :) If anyone wants to feel sexy over 65, just go to a gym with even older people doing their physical therapy.
Parsley, thank you for the encouragement. I'm thrilled to find out that the layered pendants are actually on trend!

Fab outfits Joy - adore black with any shade of blue. And hey - you can say you "worked out with Bob Dylan" - lol!

Yes and Yes!  Speaking of Angie's post this morning, I am really encouraged when I see your posts -- knowing it's possible to keep growing in style and stay engaged in life around me.  You look amazing!

Love the b/w oxfords, and I think the bit of shine in the necklaces is a great addition.  As for your workout gear --- rock on!

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

I have been having a romance with shoes, and your black and white oxfords remind me why. So fab!

I wish I looked this good in my workout gear!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Shannon, LOL, I'll look for an opportunity to use that line :)
Beth Ann, what a lovely thing to say. Thank you.
Thistle, if these shoes were all black or brown, I'd look old lady for sure. The black and white together make them special, I think. However, if they came in black patent, I'd love a pair.

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

Love these Joy. I love blue & black they look so sophisticated :) The shoes are amazing too.

  • CocoLion replied 10 years ago

You've knocked both of these looks right out of the park Joy.  #1 and #2 look like an outfit from In Style.  I can see it … How to Wear Navy and Black.

  • Angie replied 10 years ago

Joy. You crack me up. Thanks for the giggles. xo

  • carter replied 10 years ago
