More EF vest styling and a related K/R question

I am hanging onto the XS vest from my last post http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....hite-vests
for now and tried some more styling today.
1: vest with a Joie mixed woven and knit long sleeved top in an off white. This top still has tags on and is more fluid than it looks in the photo, but I wonder if it looks too snug. Jeans are the ivory BRs from last spring.
2: vest with old sleeveless Express draped top
3: vest with EF tube skirt and DVF silk tee. Do these short sleeves work with the vest?
The rest of the photos show an EF shell that was on clearance. It is also bone like the vest and of the same fabric. I wonder how it is to be worn. It's ok under the vest but is a bit wider than normal with enormous arm holes. Is it to be worn with something under it (more than a bra)? Is it worth having the arm holes taken in? ( I still haven't used my Nordstroms free alterations for this year).
I seem to be having trouble loading the photos. What do you think of these stylings? Does anything work?

Now I can't seem to edit the post to add that this vest still has tags and can be returned if it is looking off. Please give me your honest thoughts and ideas. I' not convinced that it is the best white vest for me, although the quality and color are wonderful. It may be too hard to style successfully.

I love it on you, but you know you are trying to find THE ONE and only your heart will tell you if you are trying make it that or if it is already.  #1 is my favorite of this lot followed by 2. I just like the whiteout which makes it more elegant to my eye.

Joy, I like looks 1, 2, and 3! I do like the short sleeves in 3 with the vest, and I just think that whole outfit is terrific. The top in 1 does look a little snug, but not like it doesn't fit you, just if you want a looser fit, it's not looking that way. But I wouldn't trust the camera completely; how does it feel? It looks really nice with the vest and the jeans, and your pumps add to the sleek look! I see nothing wrong here at all.

The last photos of the shell are not wowing me. I think the length being above the ending point of the vest's lapel, against the black skirt is not as great as the other black and ivory combo you've shown here. And the shell stumps me, too--I'm not sure how it's supposed to look or be worn, with those big arm holes.

Joy I just went back to look at your other posts & I much prefer your black shorter vest to this one. This doesn't look bad, I just think the proportions are a bit off for me. In my experience the things to keep are the ones that seem to work with our current clothes without too much effort. That may just be my laziness talking :) but I don't feel this adds that special something to your outfits. Having said that if you LOVE it keep it because you will make it work.

I like the white out looks, but I think the drapy tee is competing with the long line of the vest. I still like the vest on you a lot, but I told you, it's a lot of work!

Caro, I like the idea of this vest, but to be honest, the long length puts it out of my comfort zone. I wish it were the same shape as the black one. On the other hand, I don't want to kick myself for passing this up if it is a good look for me. I forgot to try it with an ivory silk button down or white boyfriend jeans but doubt those looks would be much different than those pictured. Maybe I need to practice PPP and hope for a better version for me to turn up. The black one feels so much more like me.

I think the length is what is making it difficult to style :) These sort of pieces don't like any competition imo - what about a darker column underneath? Pants & a shirt?  Something really simple.

What Caro said. I think the more simple the underlayer the better in this case -- at least until you get used to the length of it. It does feel awfully tricky to style. But Angie may have some good ideas for it.

I will try a very simple, slim under layer before giving up. It may be that my eye needs to adjust.

WOW I love it. A big yes from me.

I haven't seen the black vest to compare. I love this one all on its own. I love that it is long.

I like the length but do understand it is an adjustment. I especially like it with some contrasting black actually. A little alteration under the arm holes of the shell might make it much more wearable.
