WIW: Shannon Inspired ETA San's leather jacket

When I saw Shannon's Easy Peasy outfit last week, I was inspired to copy knowing I had very similar trousers.

It's perfect for today. Except for the booties, everything is a few years old. In fact the trousers are thrifted and I have no idea how old they are! Are they too short for PPP with these booties? Too much black for me? Do I need a scarf to cover neck wrinkles and lighten things up?
1: trying to copy Shannon's pose while holding my phone/camera.
2: this and the first photo show using the bag as a clutch. I found that the strap can disappear into an outside pocket.
3: bag as crossbody
Trousers: AT Signature lined wool Glen plaid
Pull over sweater: Dillard's house brand cashmere from several years ago.
Belt: black thrifted Talbots leather with gold buckle
Bag: black Kooba with gold hardware.
Booties: Impo black pointy toe with low heel
Watch MK gold tone
Comments and suggestions welcomed for improvement. A big hug and thank you to Shannon for posting her outfit!
ETA: I was still cold and added a leather jacket for more warmth, a gorgeous gift from San. It's gold hardware feels right with everything else. Added 2 photos.

I dont see too much black, I really think you look fantastic. I esp. like the leather jacket version, really add in the modern to the classic IMO. Fun bag-clutch conversion :)

Joy, you look wonderful! The jacket adds just the right trendy touch. I can't completely tell about the pants length, but they look as if they have gorgeous drape.

Oh you look so chic. I can't tell about pants length from these photos but they do look like they could be a smidgeshort.

Chic, slightly fluid fits, pointed toes, leather with gold accents -- all very updated, actually!

The break in the front of your pant leg tells me that your trousers can't be terribly short, but it's impossible to be sure from this angle.

    You look terrific!

Here are some closeups of the trouser bottoms. They may be a bit short for these booties. My hope is that they are close enough, but there is a small hem that could be let out. I guess it would mean committing to a footwear height. I used to wear these with pumps with a bit lower heels, but the booties are warmer and are worn with socks. What would you do?

You look great - effortlessly stylish. I'd say the pants are close enough in length.

Thank you for your helpful comments. Sarah and Suz, I love the jacket, especially with this outfit; but I changed to an old blazer for class, not wanting to take any chances.
Liz, BethAnn and Emily, I also changed into lower booties for icy pavement so had better PPP, although the flat boots didn't look that much different. The ant leg hems probably need to be let out.

I did not notice the trouser length as a problem and actually think #2 is absolute perfection!

I could have sworn I posted here to tell you how wonderfully elegant you look.  Where did my post go?  Anyway, it bears repeating in case it shows up.
