WIW: Summer Frocking with Dr. Scholls

Some recent hot weather outfits featuring frocks.
1/2: EF dress and cardi, Dr Scholls pewter flats, old belt from SteinMart. I wore this to a local production of Les Miserables. This cardi is not working, is it? I took it for AC but didn't actually need to wear it.
3. Old denim pencil skirt (Z Cavaricci from Marshall's), AT blouse (thank you, San!), same flats, MK watch, old belt from Marshall's. high happiness factor. I wore this shopping and lunch with friends. Does the tucking look ok?
4. NYDJ jean skirt just like my white one, Charter Club shell, same flats, turquoise and silver beads were a gift. Worn to a book discussion. Too Christmasy? Too plain? The top is too big but I love the color. Should it be tucked?
If a 5th photo shows up, ignore the duplicate. I've yet to figure out how to remove them but will try an edit.

These are some really adorable looks!

My fave is #1, and I think the cardi works fine with it in #2, especially, as you said, if you expect there to be AC wherever you are headed.

I like the tucking in #3, you have a streamlined look.

#4 doesn't look Christmasy to me, it looks Caribbean.

I love your EF dress, it is so elegant and perfect for enjoying a theater production! I think the cardi works - and anything that keeps you from being too cold is a winner by my books!

I also didn't think Chrismasy in #4, I think tropical!

Every time you wear that EF dress, I swoon...

You are really getting your use from the EF dress and it looks so lovely on you. I like the last outfit, too! Not too Christmas-like. Looks like coral on my screen and seems very summery, actually.

Tucking in #3 looks fab, as does the blouse.

La Belle, thank you. I love the idea of Caribbean :)
And tropical, Lyn. So true about needing something rather than freeze.
Shannon and Suz, I am favoring this blue version of the dress over the rhubarb one and am wondering if I should return that one. The red top does lean toward coral. I'd not thought of that.

That EF dress was such a find for you!

Sigh. Continued fabness from you, Joy!

Love #4. Colourful and happy, but sophisticated at the same time.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

That EF dress was meant for you! Soooo fab!

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

I just love the EF dress on you.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

Ceit, Thistle and Shedev, that EF dress is a perfect summer dress.
    LOL, Pil. Thank you.
Runcarla, I'm glad you feel this combination works.

A stylish set for sure.  I like the middle outfit the best. The use of different textures within a tonal scheme is right up my alley.

As for the cardi in #2, I feel it is not terribly current but it's not exactly dated either.  But the proportions are spot on.  So I'm a little torn.  Sometimes function trumps fashion, right?

These are all great looks, Joy. You are so polished, even in the heat of summer. The Eileen Fisher dress is just gorgeous on you. I think the cardi is fine with it. I feel a little like CocoLion about it; I'd say, if you were out to get a cardigan specifically to wear with that dress, this one probably wouldn't be it, but it suited the purpose well. I also like the mix of textures in 3, including the belt. I agree that 4 is Caribbean, not Christmas! I like your Dr. Scholl's flats; who knew the Dr. was so chic?

Can I just say that, first of all, you look FAB in all of these outfits! Also, those Dr Scholls shoes are perfect every single time--and I bet they are comfy too! I have seen some very cute heeled sandals they have out this season online. The metallic tones are in right now, and the slip on ballerina slipper is just dressy enough to go with these dresses. You have great style!

I have never once seen you in that EF dress where you don't look positively smashing! All great looks!

Again Joy, again... all distinctive looks, all your own. Modern, classy, casual polished, you name it, you can wear it. You do have fun with fashion indeed.

    This dress IS quite something.
