WIW: joining the column of white group with kimono-esque jacket

I saw Rae, Shannon, Suz, MaryK and others looking so great in white that I went for it too. Not having a print jacket that I liked with white, I tried two of my kimono- esque to stand in for a jacket.
Jeans are white Diana skinnies that are freshly washed and haven't yet reached full slouch.
EF (old) white linen shell over Target tank
Both jackets are Citron brand from Nordstrom
Both bags are thrifted nice leather in unused condition
The belt reminds me of Ceit's Canadian Tire belt. It is leather and thrifted. (T.i.l.t. Made in USA)
1/2. Taupe linen top
3/4. Floral on white cotton, buttoned and open
Is any of this working? Jeans rolled to best level? Any improvements you would suggest? I welcome your thoughts.

Fresh outfits, Joy! I really like floral patterns with white denims? How about unrolling the jeans just a bit so that they hit the ankle?

Beautiful, Ms. Elegant Eclectic! The jeans rolls look great!

I absolutely love #1. The colours are just so beautiful on you.

Both versions are gorgeous Joy - love both those jackets and the rolled white jeans are absolutely perfection!

OMG Joy!  I love, love, love both of these outfits!  Are those Kimono jackets - or what?  Both look great with your tops, jeans (perfect roll), shoes and handbag.  Beautiful outfits!

Absolutely beautiful, oh jeans twin! This is so lovely. I don't know which is better; both are fab. And the jeans are perfect! I really like wearing mine this way. It allows me to stretch their season a bit longer and enjoy the comfort.

I like both. I can't choose between them either. Your jeans are a fab fit and I like the length too.

So stunning!  I love the jeans - wish I could find a white pair like that (the Dianas were not a good fit for me).  :(

Beautiful, Joy. Was the first jacket in your recent kimono thread? I love it with the coral bag.

Angie, your Elegant Eclectic label is spot on for what I want to achieve. I can't thank you enough for all the shopping mistakes I've avoided when using it as a guide.
Suz, I'm thrilled to be your jean twin. I choose these so that i could wear them full length or rolled since I usually don't get much wear out of white jeans.(It gets too hot too fast).
Marley, these are both from a brand called Citron that has Oriental inspired designs and prints in natural fabrics, usually silk.  I don't care for everything they do but there are some gems.  All mine are from Nordstroms. they carry them more in the summer months, especially petites.
Pil, I think that first one was in my kimono thread.
Una, have you tried the slim Catherine boyfriends yet?  I really love them but they are too short unrolled on me.  They are a bit more loose than the ones I have on.
Asingh, I'm 5'3" and ankle length makes me look as short as i am.  I'm pushing it with the rolling but want these to fill in for shorts on hot days.
Thank you, everyone for your comments and help.

Stunning summer softness, Joy, and you look lovely and Ms. EE!  The tops work so beautifully with the column of white.

    great style

Pretty jacket.  It's the star against all white.  I prefer the gold shoes in outfit #1 but both footwear options work.

  • replied 10 years ago

Fabulous!  I especially love the first outfit!

You have such an elegant style, Joy.  You inspire me!

Oh, thank you so much!  I needed your kind comments after hearing my new doctor use the term "geriatric" in referring to me.  Ack!  I know I'm getting old, but I don't feel that old!
Thank you, Angie.  I feel like I've upped my game style-wise but am still experimenting and making mistakes.  Just ask Nordstrom about all my returns.
Shevia, the shoes you like are a recent purchase, Ecco with Nike technology from The Rack.  Very comfortable.
Lisa, I feel more elegant in those shoes too.  I don't think I did up the straps though when taking photos.  Unfortunately the wedge is just a bit high for daily use.
Alicat, I'm humbled and thrilled to be an inspiration.  You made my day!
