For me not too much, you wear it with style , suits you absolutely. I like it.

ok, this a little too maximal for me, but i love the top half (red is totally your color) and i'd love this with white jeans!
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you for your comments and help. Kkards, the top half with white jeans is a good idea. I could also do it with blue jeans.

A little too much to my eyes.
The shirt, bag and shoes look great on you.

That is impressive and festive! Sometimes I think pattern mixing looks unintentional in a less than desirable way, but this is clearly intentional and fun.

Outstanding! Perfectly done. I want your knack for this.

I also like the top half a lot, but would rather choose another pair of pants. The idea of white jeans is very good.

Too much of a good thing can be wonderful! I need to get me some plaid trews.

What a wonderful collection of plaids. It looks good together.
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but that is good to know.
Cardiff girl, I do mostly wear these plaid pants with navy tops but have not yet tried adding this plaid scarf. Good idea.
Meredith, I know what you mean. I think having more than two plaid pieces in an outfit may look more intentional unless the two pieces are carefully chosen. The pants and shirt seem to look like a sad accident when together by themselves.
Approprio, I like your thinking. Angie, thank you so much for the big confidence boast to try new combinations .
MsMary, a *plonk*! I am thrilled!
Thank you all for your comments. I learn so much from you.

I think it is a festive and fab outfit. It works beautifully for the holiday season. For non-holiday, I would break it up a little bit but YMMV.
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Thank you all for your comments. As Joyce says, I may be able to get away with all this plaid at holiday time but not normal times

I love the way this all fits together. You’ve got pattern mixing to last all year, but the plaid might seem a ... strange in a few months ;) . Is that one of your new scarves?
-
Joy replied 7 years ago
Many Thanks to all who took time to look and comment. I find it so helpful. Fashiontern, that is one of my new scarves and feels just right for this time of year. It is best for cold weather. It has two plaids plus a plain bright green section.
