Holiday Capsule in Action

I posted most of my special-to-the-holidays items here: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ay-capsule
Here are some in action mixed with other wardrobe pieces;
1-4: "Silver bells". A rather casual day outfit of grey jeans and silver pieces. I got some compliments on the outfit. Worn out with a silvery grey puffer jacket for a topper.
5: Wassail bowl outfit based on Angie's orange pants ensemble and featured in another post.
6/7: red and green ( olive with pimento) and metallic gold ultra-casual with olive jeans and tee, red puffer best and bag, gold clutch and added gold sneakers for dog walking.
8/9: beaded skirt worn to a performance of The Messiah with black turtleneck, scarf with blues and teals, hopefully dressy kitten heeled ankle boots.
10/11: ultra-casual tee and jeans for tree trimming party, pewter booties, red bag, snowflake earrings.
I will try to add some finds from my iPad. Any suggestions are helpful. What works and what needs improvement?

All fabulous detail as usual for you Joy! I find the silver bells outfit slightly dull on you, but even I feel like a neutral outfit once in while. Also not too sure of the scarf colours with the skirt?

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Jenni. I need to find a better scarf for this skirt. It and a black turtle neck are my go-to holiday look for a cold day, but the black near my face needs softening, and jewelry like pearls seems to compete with the skirt's beading.

I love all of these. Silver works so beautifully on you, especially with your stunning hair. My favourite has to be your "Chilling" outfit - such a fun and festive t-shirt. You do look killer gorgeous in your black turtleneck and skirt combo.

My favorite is the silver and grey outfit. It looks wonderful on you with your gorgeous hair.

As always, Joy, you are my style icon.  My absolute favorite is the grey ensemble.  Everything about it speaks to me.  It looks lush.  It combines comfort with elegance.  And grey is such a nice color on you.

I love, love, LOVE the silver ensemble. Makes your hair look especially stunning.

Fab all round. The skirt look in #8 and #9 is my fave. Elegant and festive.

More love here for the silver. And the beaded skirt. Hallelujah!

  • Jane replied 6 years ago

I like the silver on you, and the beaded skirt very much. What is a wassail bowl? Sounds fun!

So nice to see that incredible skirt in action. You look great in all of these! I’m guessing that the subtle charm of the greys shone in settings where restiveness wasn’t mandatory? I like the stuffed olive outfit too.

  • Jane replied 6 years ago

I have just seen your post on the wassail bowl, so it is related to the anglo saxon singing tradition! Yay from an anglo saxon! Brilliant colours by the way.

That “silver bells” outfit might be my favorite ever on you, Joy. I love how the shine and sparkle come through when layered on the tonal gray.

Love the silver scarf with your hair colour, the embroidered skirt outfit is really fab and I m sorry but would could not love a festive snoopy top!Thank you so much for sharing these fun and festive looks.

I also love the silver outfit! Thinking back, I can remember other fabulous outfits you've posted that are similar columns of white, gray, or silver. It works so well on you.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you all. Lots of love for the grey and silver outfit. The scarf, which adds a lot, is new this year. Many pieces here are old favorites, especially the beaded skirt, that I enjoy seeing and wearing this time of year. Jane, yes, you got it. I added more detail in a comment on the other thread.

Those are all great! My favorite is the grey but I also love the skirt and the fun sweatshirt.

  • Suz replied 6 years ago

Whoa. No wonder you got compliments on the silver bells outfit. That is stunning on you. Love the blend of soft with shine and denim. Gorgeous with your hair!!

I like all of these a lot but the skirt look is especially pretty and festive. It's so great to have pieces like that in the wardrobe that really remind us it is a special time of year.

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Suz. Right now I am pondering what to wear to a holiday ladies luncheon that will involve also spending a good part of the day helping at a food pantry this coming week. Silver bells may be ideal.

  • Jaime replied 6 years ago

Love the silver outfit - all great tonal looks with a pop of Snoopy!

  • SarahD8 replied 6 years ago

These are all so great. I could not pick a favorite. I love your slightly "off" typical holiday color combinations (olive and pimento) and your use of metallics. These looks make such a cohesive whole -- very, very inspiring.

That embroidered skirt is beautiful!  Love it on you . I also really like the red sweater outfit .

  • Joy replied 6 years ago

Thank you, Shevia, Sarah and Lisa. It is helpful to know your thoughts on these outfits.

Fantastic round of Holiday outfits, I love the silver one, but definitely my favorite one has to be the one with the black skirt.

  • Sara L. replied 6 years ago

This is a great collection of holiday outfits.  I find myself especially drawn to #1 with all the silver.  It just looks so rich on you.  I also love #5, the red sweater and burgundy pants.  The colors look are so vibrant.  The beaded skirt is elegant and I think the ankle boots look good with it.

How wonderful to get see your capsule in action! I am especially fond of the first silvery outfit (which I bet has a lot more twinkle in person) and the beaded skirt outfit (moody modern elegance). Thanks also for sharing some casual takes. What a versatile capsule!

(The first outfit could be fun with white on the bottom half for a brighter take.)
