K/R: YLF, Do These Make My Feet Look Big?

I know I have big feet for my size and have learned to appreciate them anyway. I'd like your thoughts on these shoes.
I've long wanted flat white/off white cool or cold weather shoes and ordered the Trove loafer hybrids last spring. Then it turned too hot to wear them. Yesterday I found the ivory AGL oxfords at The Rack. I don't know that I need both pair.
The third pair are FS. I need some brown, caramel or cognac. What do you think of these?
I could keep all or none but want to look somewhat modern, yet comfortable. I see too many old lady comfort shoes and hope to avoid that for at least awhile longer.
1-3: Trove loafer
4-6: AGL Oxford
7-9: Franco Sarto loafer
What should I return? Should I keep looking? Are these JFE on my big feet or unflattering?

I've seen tiny size 6 feet look ginormous in foot shots without context, so I am not sure some of these photos give a person a real idea of how your feet actually look. But your feet do NOT look unusually large to me at all. I very much like the Trouve loafers, but I am not a big fan of the Franco Sarto shoes. However, I wonder if that is due to the fact that they aren't interesting shoes on their own, but they might coordinate really well with outfits. Again, without context on the Franco Sartos it is difficult for me to say. I think they might go better with longer pants, though, because they strike me as men's house shoes in the pictures here. But overall you have them posted in the order of my preference - the Trouve are my faves, the oxfords are my second choice, and the Sartos aren't doing much for me. But your feet look fine in all of them.

The Trove loafers look great and I especially like the oxfords on you.  The cognac loafers seem a bit overwhelming on your foot, to my eye. A good looking shoe, though.

I prefer the oxfords over the other two.  I don't think any of them make your feet look big.  I find that my preceptions are warped when looking at my own feet since I'm looking at them from above which isn't the view that everyone else sees.

  • replied 9 years ago

My favorite are the oxfords, followed by the Trove loafers.

As Echo mentioned, judging how the shoe looks on a foot is difficult.  I have to believe that these shoes would look good on you based on previous WIWs.

  • DizzyLizzy replied 9 years ago

If you feel like your feet look big, then I would prefer the oxfords as the different textures on the shoe break up the expanse on the top of your foot in a way that the solid color/highish vamp shoes don't. The Trove loafers do have a nice elegant shape though.

I've never thought that your feet look overly large in anything you post.

No Joy - your feet do not look big :)

I can hardly look past the Trouve loafers to see any of the other pics. I love these SO MUCH! I think they will work so incredibly well for casual wear for you.

  • celia replied 9 years ago

My favorite are the oxford but I also like #1.
The Franco Sarto loafers in #3 seem too visually heavy .
Your feet look perfectly porpotioned and elegant as the rest of you Joy.

I am 5'3" and have size 8 feet. I would most likely wear these with jeans or pants. All are comfortable, but the oxfords make my feet sigh with pleasure.

  • kellygirl replied 9 years ago

I love the first two. I'm not crazy about the rounded toe and seam on the cognac loafers although the color is lovely. I think they would be fine especially if you are wearing them with pants--not bare legged.

Hey, you have a great understanding. If you didn't have big feet, you'd tip over, right? I come from a family with BIG feet so I am super sensitive to this. I have never noticed your feet being big.

I think the first one does look a tiny bit big, but as you wear them and creases develop, they won't look big at all. The second one, not at all. The third one just looks too big for your foot.

I should be asking the exact same thing about some Ugg slip ons that came yesterday. To my eye they look ginormous, but I haven't even decided whether to keep them or not.

ETA: just noticed your comment - size 8 is not big!

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 9 years ago

I like the oxfords the best. I do think, based on the photos alone, that your feet look a bit big in all of them; however I believe it would be a different story if you were wearing pants.

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

Thank goodness the question is about feet!

I have similar feet, maybe--mine are larger, though.

I am very picky about how shoes look on my feet. That sounds obvious but maybe isn't. I like shoes that look slightly more molded to the contours of my feet, not making them look like large ovoids or something.

What helps is not having a very large expanse of plain leather on the vamp. Either a lower vamp, or pieced leather or seaming, or the brogue detail, cap toe, something. Hence, on my feet the cognac shoes would look more ginormous because there's all that expanse of leather.
Also, the straight edge of a high vamp in #1 does weird things for my "poison eye" on me, but I don't think it's so on you. Again, this appears to me to be related to my liking designs that sort of break  up the vamp.

The oxfords are very flattering to my eye, and next #1.

  • AJ replied 9 years ago

I like the first two. They both have interesting design details.

The FS looks OK, but if that is not a color that you have a hard time finding, then I would return.

No worries, size 8 are not big for your height. :)

  • deb replied 9 years ago

Your feet do not look big. I love the Trouve but I am biased because I have them in black. #2 looks good to me also and I might like #3 if your outfit was different. I vote keep #1 and #2.

  • replied 9 years ago

I'm staying out of the choice because I don't like pointy toes on casual footwear, I've never understood the appeal of oxfords (yes! it's true!), and I'm not a fan of faux aged leather.

But Joy, I've looked at many, many of your photos and never, ever noticed anything about the size of your feet at all, or for that matter, anyone else's, unless they're unusually tiny.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Thank you for your input. I should say that I feel my feet are large for my height and skinny legs. I am inclined, with your wisdom, to keep the Trove and AGLs (1&2) and return the brown FS pair and look for something better. I am looking for something flat that can be worn with light socks that won't show under pants. They might be booties (which they will be replacing), oxfords, loafers, or low boots.
Unfrumped and DizzyLizzy, thank you for your wisdom on choosing a shoe style. I have trouble choosing high vamp footwear because of my feet.
Sara and Echo, I should have styled the shoes to give a better idea of how they will, ook. I will do that before making a final decision. It requires a cooler day so that full length pants can be tolerated.
Thank you all for your honesty, just what I need to decide. I need more patience when searching for a HEWI.

Those oxfords look pretty cute on you, and I'll bet they'd go with a lot of outfits.  The other ones are kind of oompa-loompa in my humble opinion.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

Oh Joy your feet look just fine. I cannot judge shoes by looking straight down and I don't think you can either. I love the new oxfords and the Trouves are fab too.

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

I love the first two pairs. In photo 7 the FS look too big. Could you go down a half size? your feet do not look big.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

LOL LavenderMoon, i'ii always think Oompa-Loompa looking at those shoes if I keep them! Now to get that song out of my brain. :)
Shevia, I so much appreciate your comment. You are right. Shoes should not be judged looking down at them.
Debbie, thank you for your comment too. The shoes would be too short if sizing down. I have long bony feet for my size, but some shoes look better than others. I might be able to take a narrow but doubt narrows are available.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

I'm glad you're keeping the AGLs, since you find them so comfortable. I think they look really nice on you. I also like the Trouve loafers. To me, the two shoes have a similar profile on the foot--the vamp comes up to about the same place, so the foot has a similar appearance--though I don't think your feet look large here or in your WIWs.
I wonder if you will come across the Paul Green loafers Angie has in white, but in cognac--they came in that color. They are very similar to the Franco Sarto style, but they look more refined to me.

    P.S. find added.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Sharan, I will have to take another look at the Paul Green loafers. I am tempted to triplicate the SE Petty booties and get a cognac pair. However, on me they take some breaking in and so their comfort is an issue.

  • Maneera replied 9 years ago

    I love the

AGL Oxford the best, folowed by the Trove loafer.

You should get a full shot...foot shots are terrible because everyone's foot looks large....after all, you are zooming in a lot!

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

I like the oxfords the best.  I find the loafers will make feet look bigger if that is your concern especially if they are white.  But I don't think people really notice the size of feet.  At least I never do.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

    Feet look GREAT.

The FS loafer looks a bit wide - no?

  • Carole replied 9 years ago

I like 2 best! Love the cognac color in 3...I'm thinking if you tried them on with pants, jeans they would look more flattering!

  • Elle replied 9 years ago

My favorite is the oxfords #2- by a big margin too.  And they sound the most comfortable, which is key.
