WToW: Help needed

These VC red rayon pants are wardrobe orphans, too thin for cold weather, too warm for hot weather. Today should be perfect with layering.
The problem is that I will need a topper.
1: no topper. Blouse is cut too low so layered over a navy silk top.
2: EF ink cardigan
3; JJill linen navy jacket
4: denim jacket
5: ETA Linen blend blazer, Evan Picone
All toppers are thrifted. Do any of these work? I'm open to any suggestions you have as to how to wear these pants

My choice is #3. It has the same level of dressiness as the other items. But the denim jacket would be warmer, I might think.

Thank you, Rachylou. I just added another, more structured navy blazer. I need to look somewhat authoritative for leading a spring-rowdy group of 9-13 year olds today. Maybe I need to change into a black suit.

    i like both 3 and 5.
and i commend you, usally when i wear my red pants, i panic and just wear a white shirt or tee...love the red and the layer of blue under it!

Joy, can you leave off the blue camisole? Another vote for #3. Great trousers.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Angie, I need something under the striped top as it is sheer and the neck is too low for working with children. I could use a different color like white to brighten the top or a neutral like nude.

  • merwoman replied 9 years ago

Beautiful drape on the pants Joy - they fit you to perfection! Loving #3 as well - have you got a nudish cami?

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Aha. Then I question whether it's worth keeping, Joy. The blouse doesn't look right with a camisole under that neck tie. Am I being too picky?

  • Sal replied 9 years ago

I also chose 3 before I saw the other replies. Great pants. Hope the day goes well!!!!

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Thank you for your replies. I wore #3 and tried a cream cami. Angie, you are certainly not too picky! The light cami didn't look good either, so I fashion taped the blouse together higher up under the tie. It looks better but is too fussy to do this. The blouse is going into the donate bag.
Kkards. I know what you mean. I like the pants, but just can't finds many tops that I like with them. My fall-back is white with black polkadots, although I have worn these red pants with a deep pink silk tee and an orange blazer.

I like choice #3, and think you are right to donate such a demanding top.

  • rabbit replied 9 years ago

Late, but I really like the red pants on you.  I think they might pair well with blouses that are white/cream, blush, navy, pale blue/chambray, pale mint green, maybe pale gray or charcoal.

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Onto the next fab top. LOVE those red trousers.

Red is a neutral in my world because it works with just about any colour. Like Rabbit's suggestions.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

I really like the red pants and hope to wear them more often. Angie, I will try thinking of them as a neutral. I keep trying to make a column of red but haven't found the right shade of red for a top, so it is an idea that needs to be let go. Rabbit, thank you for your suggestions. They have given me some ideas.

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

I like the suggestions above. Usually when I'm in doubt, I wear a blue chambray button down. I like these with the blazer in #3 and #5.

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

I think those pants who be great with a chambray shirt. Also do you have an animal print top? I am regretting purging my red pants.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Karie, a new chambray button down is on my want list. I have one that is actually feeling too small, a rare thing for me. A great idea.
Debbie, I do have an animal print..actually 2, a sheer silk buttondown and a sleeveless v-neck. Another great idea.

Test. The ROG spit out a red pants outfit from my finds and "similars" and I want to see if copies here. If not, how do those who have put their ROGs on the forum do it?

Do you have the ROG page open?  I think there is a 'share this with the forum' link -- but it makes a new post.  Otherwise just collect all the finds it spit out and add them to this post.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

These are not even the right pieces :(

  • CocoLion replied 9 years ago

Can you take a screen shot of the ROG that gets created?  I know you can't create the same outfit twice, or it would take many tries.  Not sure if that is your question.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Rabbit, I think that you are right. Denise, I am really tech challenged. I don't even know what a screen shot is. You are right. It is gone now. I can't remember all the pieces and should have written them down. I had wanted to attach what was generated to this thread.
