WIW: some Style It Forward challenge outfits

I am working on RunCarla’s challenge but have not always gotten photos
https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-challenge and have been trying to incorporate orange. This has been hard as the weather has been mostly warmer and my orange sweaters would be too warm most of the day.
The first photo is of what orange jewelry I have.
Photos 2-4 are all of the same grey pants with three different orange tops, a stripe thrifted tee, a silk consignment summer top, and an old favorite pussy bow blouse in a print. I mostly wore metallic espadrilles and a variety of small crossbody bags. The summer blouse was too cold and later I added a rust Halogen cardigan ( not pictured) for warmth.

oooh I've missed your WIWs! Love your jewelry collection, and you look stunning in orange!

Beautiful outfits, orange is great color on you. What has inspired your challenge, do you have trouble wearing orange, and had to force yourself to wear it or some other reason?

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Such a treat to see you post and I love orange on you and also the message behind it. You have a great collection of accessories to add the perfect finishing touch.

  • Liesbeth replied 3 years ago

Oh my, orange looks stunning on you!

Great outfits! Orange is not an easy color for me but you make it look effortless. I love all the tops with a slight preference for blouse and stripy top. Bags, shoes, jewelry and mask are so well chosen and fun!

All these tops fit really well and look stellar, Joy! And you're wearing your glucose meter with style and grace. I'm impressed. KILLER all round, and stay strong.

You look great in orange and what a fab collection of jewelry. My favorite is #2 but the print top is a close second.

Thank you for all the kind, encouraging comments. Anchie, to answer your questions, I am wearing orange to show opposition against gun violence, a favorite issue of my DDIL. She attends protests and marchs., sometimes with the grandchildren. For this reason I have tried to collect orange pieces, including an orange coat, But I also enjoy wearing the color and do not have to force myself. A red orange is my best red. Orange seems to work well with most neutrals except black ( too Halloweeny) and with blues and greens and even red, pink and yellow. What I don’t have are orange shoes.
There are sneakers but I’m holding out for something slip-on and walking comfortable.

You look gorgeous in orange Joy and I love the meaning behind it. I like all these looks on you - orange shoes would be fab too if you find some.

Orange and blue is my favourite but I also like it with camel, teal and grey. On me I don’t like it with chocolate but on others it could work.

Love the orange on you! I like it most with burgundy and purple :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Sal and Suntiger for all the color pairing ideas I a. It a. It fan of orange with chocolate either. It seems predictable in the fall and very high contrast, but it depends on the shades of each of those colors.

Orange you going too far ?

    Sorry... I couldn't resist the pun !!

  • Runcarla replied 3 years ago

These look fabulous, Joy - and you look beautiful in orange.  Do you have some olive bottoms?  That might be a nice combination.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

LOL, Cee. Runcarla, orange with olive is a good idea. I do have some olive joggers and some pants in a sort of brownish olive similar to the grey ones.
The joggers have a front zipper and button waist closure, but I can see if they will work.

Fabulous colour on you! My favourite is the first outfit. Very sleek!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Brooklyn. I hope life is going smoothly. I had to take a look again at the first outfit to see what was sleek about it. I understand and I felt more sleek wearing it, especially as the day before was anything but. ( see photos below.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

!!! Joy that’s how I used to look when I worked in an office. I always seemed to be carrying at least 2 bags. Sometimes 3. I like the bracelet action you’ve got going in this outfit. And the coordinating shoes. Even when you are weighed down, you do it in style :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Brooklyn, you get it! Photos of Iris Apfel in all her big bracelets inspire me as do your wonderful cuffs. I wonder how Iris stores her bracelets.

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

Orange looks great on you.  I love #1.  I hadn’t heard about orange for anti gun violence.  I started wearing pink for my Tuesday protests.  It started with a pink pussy hat.  Now I have a ton of pink.

  • Angie replied 3 years ago

You are rocking your less-sleek too, Ruth! Arty, creative and stylish. Nice to change things up :)

  • Star replied 3 years ago

Orange sure suits you.  Especially like #2.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you all for the encouraging comments. Angie, you know I need change in my outfits. My less sleek outfit features some linen wide pants with a tie waist. I got them for summer because they are breezy and do not interfere with my glucose meter and support women in Asia support themselves. I bought three and this one is the least boho of the bunch..

Orange tops work beautifully for you.
