WIW: non - denim and non- shorts outfit ETA 2nd outfit

Inspired by Angie’s blog post today, I am wearing a version of today’s #4 ensemble. Pants are EF and green, not mustard. Striped top was thrifted a linen knit. Old light wash denim jacket and old Merrell sneakers that were once white. White star earrings and small denim bag made by my aunt. The last photo shows you a fabulous and comfortable mask made by RunCarla. Carla, thank you so much both DH and I have been wearing the ones you made and sent. DH really likes his. We have been taking advantage of the opening of some local nurseries trying to find certain plants recommended to us by a landscaper last fall. We are still watching to see if some planted last fall are coming back. Some are still iffy.
Is this outfit ok without shorts?
ETA: skirt outfit (4-7) Casual. I would wear instead of shorts. Inspired by Angie’s blog. Denim stretchy pencil skirt (old), white linen shirt usually used as a swim suit cover, EF bronze espadrilles, small bag is gold and silver, large bag is vintage straw. Have not yet gotten a replacement for the skirt. I found that I had no cotton white shirts left, except more tunic length.

NAILED it! Right down to the stylish mask! You and Carla are truly FABULOUS.

Shorts YOUR way - why not :)

❤️ your outfit.  I’m such a sucker for stripes.  So happy to learn the masks are working out for you and DH.

Gorgeous! Love the length of these.

  • kellygirl replied 3 years ago

Perfection! This is a great alternative to shorts. Mask is fab!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you , Carla! The masks are beautiful and came just when we were both really needing them. Angie, RunCarla is truly fabulous.
Thank you for the supportive comments, Angie, torontogirl and Kellygirl.. I am so happy that you feel my denim alternative is working. I do have mustard jeans but they are in the pile for donation because their waist does not work for me any longer.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Runcarla, I think I am wearing the large size mask here but the smalls fit me just fine too.

Great interpretation of the #4 ensemble - love pale blue denim with green shorts! Mask is fabulous ( great choice of fabric/pattern )!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, slim cat. I am glad that you feel this outfit worked..

Your outfit looks great! The only place I have gone in 9 weeks is a nursery about a mile from my home. We've discovered that when the fog comes in people don't think about gardening and the nursery is quiet.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

A nursery is a happy place to go. We try to go early on a weekday before things get busy.

    Excellent outfit and gorgeous mask!

  • JAileen replied 3 years ago

Your outfit is fab, and your mask is, too.  Carla is a mask making machine!

  • rachylou replied 3 years ago

Would you call these capris? I totally love this length.

And Carla totally is a mask-making machine! Go Carla!

  • Minaminu replied 3 years ago

Fab outfit! The sunglasses are very glamorous, suit you very well!

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

A fabulous outfit, you always are so good at taking inspiration from Angie's styling and making it your own.

What a beautiful mask! Nailed it!

  • Preppy Pear replied 3 years ago

I love your “shorts” outfit. I looked at the photos before I read the post and admired the gorgeous mask - should’ve known it was Carla’s work!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Shevia, JAileen, Rachylou, Minaminu, Bijou and Suntiger. Rachylou, I am not sure what Capris are. Theses pants are really ankle or full length on me but they are easy to roll up and they stay rolled, so that is the way I usually wear them in warm weather. Carla makes beautiful and comfortable masks.
ETA: Thank you, Preppy pear. We must have cross posted. Run Carla must have an artist’s eye.

A skirt outfit added in post above inspired by the same post from Angie’s blog. Should I release the skirt hem to try to make the skirt more current? Or just plan to replace it?

  • replied 3 years ago

Maybe, how long is the hem?

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Suntiger, the hem is now just at my knees, about 22 inches from the waist. There is a hem of about 1 1/2 inches, which would put it just under my k eye caps.

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

I like your outfit with denim skirt - it works well with current length of the skirt ( classic ).  Your fab bags and metallic sandals add dressy feel to the whole look.
Feeling a bit envy of your bag collection  ;) .

    Outfit #2 is KILLER

The low tied shirt is a very flattering look on you sweet Ruth, and the silhouettes work really well together. Fun Summery touch with the espadrilles and straw bag!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Slim cat, I definitely bat for Team Dressy. A valuable lesson I learned from Angie’s Team questions. I have embraced metallics without now feeling like I am displaced from a Florida retirement home.
Angie, thank you for your comment. I will try for more of this silhouette for summer and hope to find a silvery or pewter straw bag even if I have to resort to spray paint for a DIY.

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

    Great outfits!
I think the skirt length is perfect and looks great with the sandals.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, unfrumped, I just looked at one of the photos again and I look weighted down with those bags. I could put one inside the other but would have to remember to put the small one back on inside the house.

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

I love both these outfits.  And I think the nursery is a great place to go and visit.....

Outfit 2 is so flattering and stylish - really lovely.  But 1 is fun and a great one too.

  • lyn67 replied 3 years ago

Wow wow wow you're fiercy stylish Joy,  in all of these, I cannot pick a fave and the dark mask looks great with the light sunnies and your hair!! Wow again!!

  • JamC replied 3 years ago

Love the way the green pants look at that length! How did you fold them up so they don’t appear bulky or like they might unfold? How long are they at full length?

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you Sal, lyn67 and JamC!  Jam C, the green pants are about full length on me...28-30 inches.  They are a slightly textured crepe fabric that stays rolled.  Here they are rolled up 3 times with each roll being about 2-3 inches.

  • Brooklyn replied 3 years ago

Love. You can do no wrong Joy.
