WIW: Weekend Orange

This weekend I wore orange.
Photo #1: Friday to have a bone scan at a local hospital. You have seen this outfit before.
Photo#2: Saturday dog walking and to do curbside pickup for some picture frames. I paired the orange top with olive pants, rolled up for a warm day.
Photo#3: Sunday to watch our church services on U-Tube. It is only open to a very limited number and one must sign up about once a month. Orange dress is sleeveless and from consignment. The sweater is several years old and first time paired with this dress. This will probably be the last season for these perforated flats. They are summer workhorses.

Orange and olive - what a lovely combination! The print on the blouse is pretty. I hope you find some replacement shoes easily.

You rock it, Joy. KILLER combinations with the mask and glucose monitor bag! You impress me :)

#1 is my fave - and fun NAS top pick from all those years ago.

Beautiful! You're my blouse twin. I love that polka dot top. Second outfit is fab casual--espadrilles are the perfect footwear choice!

Loving your orange - you look great! I love that dress in particular. I applaud your wearing of orange for non- fashion reasons, too, but it really suits you!

My only orange item in my entire wardrobe for Friday was one of my Karen Kane masks so I went with that, and thought of you. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Thank you, Jane, Angie, Kellygirl and Preppy Pear, for your encouraging thoughts. Jane, RunCarla suggested that I wear orange with olive bottoms on another thread. It was a good idea.
Keiiy and Angie, I love that NAS pick blouse from years ago. It says a lot that it made the cut to move to the Colorado closet. I used to wear it mostly with a black leather pencil skirt that did not make the cut. It is fun to find new ways to wear it.
Preppy Pear, I love purposefully wearing a dress at least once a week, even on lockdown. This one is easy and comfortable. I love the colors. Jane, I hope to find some great replacement shoes too. This summer might be a good time to start looking.

    You are doing orange beautifully!

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

You look fine, Joy... You oranger freak, you :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you Shevia and Cee. No one expects to see a senior citizen in orange, so it makes me feel like a rebel in a good way.

    The dress is my favorite!

  • Mainelady replied 3 years ago

Ooh! I ,I’ve the orange! It is so cheerful!  Your dress is gorgeous, but I like the orange and olive best! I hope you don’t mind if I copy your outfit!

WOW, Joy, so beautiful combinations with orange. Orange and olive, fantastic you gave me idea for this beautiful combo. My favorite is orange dress, gorgeous on you, love, love so much.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Suntiger, Mainelady, and Mirjana.. The dress is a brand I did not know before, Philip Decaprio. It is silk chiffon and lined but breathable and rather swishy with the ruffle at the hem.

I only have one orange item in my wardrobe. It's a Woolovers cashmere/merino poloneck I wear when I'm channelling Velma Dinkley !

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Cee, do you have the red skirt and the knee socks too? My orange is sweaters but no polonecks yet.

  • Sal replied 3 years ago

I like all these Joy - the dress is my favourite too.

I hope you can find comfortable replacements for the shoes!!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Sal. I hope I can find a good replacement summer flat.

Good mixing of orange with neutrals!
I am drawn like a magnet to orange and coral as soon as weather gets warm, even though not really in my “ palette “.

  • Cee replied 3 years ago

I'm staying with jeans and trackpants for the timebeing thanks, Joy :D

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, unfrumped. Coral is supposed to be a color that about anyone can wear well...a suggested choice for bridesmaids dresses.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Cee, that sounds like a good solution.

  • taylor replied 3 years ago

Looking fabulous Joy!  Such a bright and cheerful color!  I particularly like your shoes in photo 1.

Orange with olive, chocolate & cream - looks lovely on you & is my go-to non-neutral 'neutral' pick too! :)

Hot pink used to be my 'non-neutral neutral' - the easy shade that I'd throw on when in a rush, because I knew it would 'go' with any of the other colours in my outfit. Ironically I used to think of orange as less versatile & wear it less because, in my mind, it could only go with certain colours (no orange & black unless it's Halloween, no orange & yellow unless you're a traffic cone etc). Glad to see you're not as uptight as I once was! ;)

    So beautiful Joy!

Joy, you are such a style inspiration. What a great collection of cross body bags. I love that you dressed up to watch Church on U-Tube, your orange dress is beautiful on you and such a happy colour.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Taylor, Zaeobi, torantogirl and Bijou. Zaeobi, hot pink is not as good a color on me as orange. Pinks are usually too cool but I enjoy them on others and have one strawberry colored summer dress...more pinkish.
Hot pink and orange can look great together, especially with a bit of red in the mix. I usually like to wear an orange bra with that strawberry dress because it can show sometimes.
