WIW: pink in October with burgundy and orange

I have been saving this inspiration for a cooler day. Today the orange blazer will not get much use but I will carry it just in case.
Silk tee: Trouvé
Jeans: H&M
Belt: old one of DH's
Leopard pumps: Banolino
Blazer: Vince Camuto
I will use a large tan ostrich textured tote from Target to carry purse stuff and class stuff.
Is this too wild? Do I need darker or different makeup? I appreciate your comments and suggestions for improvement.

I LOVE pink and orange together. You really can carry these bright colors well.

Thank you, Kim. I don't know that the pink is a good color for me, but the orange helps.

OMG, Joy, you look SENSATIONAL!!! Just killer squared. I am so in love with this colour combo on you!! Especially with those shoes. Please wear this again soon! :)

And how did your reunion go? I haven't seen the posts of what you ended up wearing and how you felt? I may have missed them as I was sparse here on the weekend.

I really love this! The brights go together so well, and the dark denim balances out the top nicely. Orange is definitely your color.

Suz,the reunion was fun. I haven't reconstructed outfits yet but went with some I'd posted or close. Things were pretty casual. I felt great in what I wore.
I'm glad you think these brights are working. No one said a word today but the happiness factor was high.
Dee, I'd never have put this together without Angie's blog post. Thank you for
    your encouragement.

Wow! Spectacular is the word that comes to mind! I do think darker makeup would work well

    Fantastic! You've got the touch!

    Shevia, thank you.

I love analagous colors and this is such a sublime execution.  Love it.

Great look!  I like the pink top and leopard print shoes together and the orange jacket is a great addition.  It's bright but I think everything goes so well that the outfit works.

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Gorgeous! The leo pumps work especially well with this cheerful color combo. I don't think you need darker make up, your hair is a bright saturation along with the colors so your face is not at all lost (if that makes any sense?).

Looks really great!   I tend to be more unsure about these colors worn together, but these items just work so well.  I don't think you need more color on your face as either the pink or orange below is bringing a glow to your cheeks.  I think the leopard shoes are perfect with it.

  • bostonsmama replied 9 years ago

I love it all, especially the heels!!

  • Jules replied 9 years ago

I think Aida is right. Your dark eyes also add definition. A bright orange or pink lip might be fun if you go in for that kind of thing, but is not at all required.

  • E replied 9 years ago

Wow!!! You look stunning! And what a neat colour combo. I'm still looking at your face, not the top or jacket, so you must be pulling off the brights. :)

  • Zibbets replied 9 years ago

So cute. I love the leopard shoe with it! YLF!

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

SO FAB!  I am going to find a way to copy this - I do have hot pink in my closet!

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Oh, wow! I didn't think that there would be much enthusiasm for this outfit on me. Thank you for your comments. I hope to wear the pink tee a bunch this month for pink in October. Jules, an orange or bright coral is my best lip shade and I'm usually wearing it. I'm not sure why it's not on for this photo.
I tried the same tee and orange blazer with tomato jeans, but the colors seemed to fight each other.
Aida, that does make sense. I forget my hair color.

I like this outfit--great colors, and the proportions work so beautifully, too. The heeled pump with the ankle jeans is a super combo on you. I agree a bright lip color would be terrific. I was advised at a makeup counter on a bright warmish pink lipstick shade to wear with my bright coral sweater--not matching, but approaching a similar level of intensity--and I do like it much better than my usual more muted shades.

  • tulle replied 9 years ago

Wow! Brave combo--bold and beautiful with your platinum hair.  You might want to amp up your blush & lipcolor a smidge, but you will get a nice reflected glow from all the color near your face, too. That's one of the things I really appreciate about wearing hot pinks in cold weather.
