WIW: Easy Quiet Layers, #1 ETA: #3 & #2

Pulled this out from the closet today. Bonus: K/R new EF metallic espadrilles in silver. These are 1/2 size bigger than I usually get but stay on my feet. They are very flat so can take a stick on softer sole and have the room for it. These are really more for summer and warmer weather.
This outfit would look better with a tank under this tee or a different top. I may change into a long grey or black cardigan for more warmth. Rain is moving in with cold winds. Shall I keep the espadrilles? The black duster ( thrifted Chico’s )? I plan to wear these white ( bone) pants a lot for summer instead of white jeans, so their days are probably numbered.
ETA: my version of #3 from the closet. Long black skirt and black tank are older EF. Gold toned belt is Italian via thrift store. Espadrilles in a god tone are another K/R EF recent online purchase for summer. The sweater is an older 360 Cashmere . The loose weave makes it almost year round. I will add photos from my phone . The gold bag is an old repurposed clutch for carrying my medical supplies. You are seeing my bed head hair.
Your comments and suggestions are welcomed. Should I kept the shoes? These are actually in my regular size. Are there any tweaks you would make to the outfit? The skirt is stretchy enough that walking and striding is not a problem. Is the bag too big?
Photos 13-16 show my version of outfit #2 although I did not notice until later that the model is just wearing the denim jacket on her shoulders.
Wide crops and mules are EF from last year. Tee is old one given to me and looks like Maggie, our dog, origami earrings were bought last year at a Farmers Market. Bag is a locally made Maruca, sold in Boulder but I found this one in a consignment shop. It holds my meter and phone and glucose tablets all day.. what would improve this outfit?

The shoes look great and will work with a lot of different outfits, so definitely keep if they work for you. The pants look good rolled and will also work with many tops and toppers. I love your easy, quiet layers.

I like the metallic shoes and fun accessories - bracelets, necklace and pretty bag. Hope insoles make shoes more comfortable for long walks.

I like the shoes on you and say keep. Some days just call out for nice, easy dressing.

If the shoes don't slip off - keep! Super cute, and the perfect shade of pewter that rocks your boat :)

You are lovely as always, sweet Ruth

The shoes are staying. Thank you for your validation. I am wearing easy quiet layers of olive and black today but am not sure if I will get a picture. The sweater is an open knit in black worn with a black tank under it. Over all I like it better than the one pictured. I hope to get a photo of this outfit yet.

Love the shoes! I think you'll get a lot of warm weather wear out of them, as long as they keep your feet happy.

Cute shoes to bookend your hair!

  • Jenni NZ replied 3 years ago

Oh such pretty shoes! I have never owned any espadrilles, might try some next summer. These are a gorgeous colour.
    I like the outfit too.

Thank you, Becky, Laura, and Jenni for the shoe enabling. Jenni, espadrilles have no arch support but are a good summer shoe if they breathe. Only expect them to last one season but the EF ones I have had tend to last longer. The cutest are wedges with ankle straps but they are no longer stable enough for me.. The extra coverage is protective yet cool for summer and keep feet softer and cleaner than sandals do.

I added a second outfit...my version of #3 from the closet. The long skirt and loose knit sweater. Is the length of the skirt ok ? I can position the length at various places depending on how far I pull up the top part. Right now it is pulled up pretty high it it could go higher or lower.

Wow !  The long skirt with the knotted belt and sweater is fantastic!  So chic!  And I'd definitely keep both pair of shoes - they will be super useful.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

That you Lisa. I a. Leaning toward keeping both pairs of shoes although they may be used as house shoes for awhile. For dog walking I plan to change into gold loafers and add a long black cardi inspired by the last quiet neutral outfit or a black trench for more warmth plus a mask.

Elegant. Love your new metallic espadrilles.

  • Jenni NZ replied 3 years ago

Both pairs of shoes are beautiful. They are so similar it does give me some pause... but then you probably don’t have as many as me with my 41 plus others I tried to sell and failed to do brought home again...

I really like the metallic accents in your outfits and love the long skirt on you. So keep whatever is making this all work so well!

  • slim cat replied 3 years ago

I love your use of gold accessories - fab bracelets, earrings and especially belt ( #6-12 )! Black sunglasses are nice finishing touch.
I have slight preference for silver sandals - easier to put on and off, but both look great in your outfits.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Bonnie, Jenni, Shevia and slim cat, thank you for the helpful comments. Slim cat, you are correct that the silver espadrilles are a bit easier to take off and on, but I almost prefer the thin straps to hold the shoe securely. There are no fasteners or ties or buckles to mess with. We will see as time goes by. If shoes are too easy to take off I am always looking for them as I kick them off in weird places. I did enjoy wearing the gold accessories. Jenni the shoes are similar but I knew I liked the style and it it so hard to find flat summer shoes that are not sandals or wedges.

  • Helena replied 3 years ago

Definitely keep! These are so fab. Love both outfits, but the knotted belt is SO chic!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Torontogirl, I liked the belt on Angie’s example. It seemed to make the outfit.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

I added my version of outfit 2 from the blog post. I will wear a black and white bandana for dog walking.

Beautiful outfits as always, Joy.  I have a sweet spot for espadrilles so I would keep both pairs.  My favourite outfit is the one in #13, 14, 15.  Lovely.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Style Fan. I am glad you like that outfit and the espadrilles.
