My Version of the Easy Neutrals Outfit

I had some things in the closet and the weather was nice today, so here is a take on the outfit in Angie’s blog post outfit today and also a bunch of OBGs.
The blouse ( old Pleionie) is not right but was what I had with its tan and black geometric stripe ( not plaid) And it is not the right shape. The jeans are old EF wide leg. The booties are Blondo suede. I added gold jewelry and a plaid scarf to pull in the plaid and a little tan crossbody with black strap. The jacket is black leather with gold buttons and zippers from YLF member San.
I welcome your comments and suggestions.

Great pattern mixing, Joy. I think this is a fab neutral outfit. I love the bootcuts with the blouse. Fun crossbody too!

I like it a lot - big fan of bootcut jeans and mixed patterns ( the scarf is great add-on ). Nice!

Thank you, Kellygirl and Nemosmom. The outfit was a little fussy to wear because the top kept slipping up to show skin, but the weight was right for the weather. I think the high was in the 70’s... not seen on this day for 11 years!

I love that striped blouse on you! But I can understand how it riding up can be irritating. Do you have a lightweight cami you coudl wear underneath?

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Gigi, I am wearing a silk black cami u dear the blouse, but maybe it is not long enough.

Love it! I like the zippy stripes and they are perfect with your boots and bag.

Thank you, Rachylou, I hope to repeat this outfit this week if the weather stays nice.
Thank you , Star, Lynn. Minaminu and Robin. I am desperate for a haircut but the salons are closed. Oh, well, I needed a new style.

    Looks great!

KILLER pattern mix. Another NAS oldie but goodie, and those sunnies are sublime!

    Ruth, you are AMAZING :)

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Suntiger and Angie. Angie, I love my oldies. The sunnies are newer and from The Rack. They are Ted Baker. I was not sure of that cat eye shape on me, but they fit well (stay on). The high altitude sun is brutal year round and I never go out without sun glasses, even on cloudy days.

I swear, Joy! You get better looking and chicer every day!

  • celia replied 3 years ago

Love this outfit on you, Joy! I really like the Pleione top with this outfit.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you MsMary and celia. MsMary, you make me laugh. If anything. I feel more old lady. I did something to my knee hiking last fall, and it makes going down stairs more difficult.
Celia, I need to wear this top more often. I think the problem is long sleeves. MsMary has a good idea having them shortened. I can always add a topper.

  • Bonnie replied 3 years ago

I really like this outfit. The colors look perfect for you too.

  • Jenn replied 3 years ago

Perfect, Joy. Even better than the inspiration!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Bonnie and Jenn. Bonnie, I had not realized how much better those tan/ taupes look on me rather than black with medium or dark browns or greys, but I see that you are right. The lighter neutrals are better at bookending my hair and each other.

Excellent outfit! Those Pleione crossover tops are still in my closet. They are the best!

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Those Pleione tops must be lovely with your designer finds. I can picture them with a nice tweed.

  • Bijou replied 3 years ago

Those sunglasses are fabulous, you have a great wardrobe, this is a very fun and interesting neutral outfit.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you, Bijou. Any credit for the outfit must go to Angie and her Friday blog ensembles. I will be on the lookout for a top more like the one she featured and will try to wear black and tan / taupe together more often. Both colors are well represented in my winter wardrobe. Maybe January needs a few of these outfits or even a whole week.
