Inspiration from ROG

Most of the outfits that ROG comes up with for me include hot weather pieces, my own fault because I need to create more finds from my winter closet. I decided to use some ROG created outfits and switch warm weather items for something similar for cold weather.
1-3: the sweater and aqua bag were in ROG's plan, but it used my rayon blush blazer which I switched out for a JCrew blush stadium coat, blue denim Bermuda shorts became blue denim jeans, and pewter ballet flats were switched for pewter wedge booties.
4: a warmer long-sleeved winter white EF turtle instead of a silk tank. The rest is ROG's plan.
5: I wore a long sleeved tee under a pale grey open weave pullover instead of a bone tan; and olive skinnies were subbed for olive cropped cargo pants. The rest is ROG.
Do these outfits look ok? It is bitterly cold right now with some snow, so being warm enough is a priority.

More ROG fun :D I adore the soft and pretty color combo in the first outfit. Those dusty pastels are striking with your hair, in a totally different way than a high contrast look. Great coat there. That look could also be fun with flares. I will say, though, that the jeans are making the look feel a little less polished than I'm used to seeing from you. The second outfit is more the polish I'm used to seeing. Big fan of pairing softer pastels with black, and the addition of pewter is quite nice. The last outfit looks good, although I would either roll the hems up OR fold a little bit under so the scrunch is a little more streamlined.

Thank you, Aida. You have a great eye for the details. I agree that the fit of those jeans in the first outfit leave much to be desired. They were thrifted for gardening and I need to store them where they will not be grabbed by mistake.
I see what you mean with the scrunch of the olive jeans. Getting that right may also improve the look of the booties with them. Great suggestions.

I love the first outfit - ROG at its best with the unexpected color combination. I also think the last one is great. The middle one is just a tad bit more conservative - I want to see the same color in a shorter sweater. You are ROG's best advertisement Joy!

Shevia, I did have a shorter sweater of the same color on a good part of the day because it was warmer! I'm sorry that I didn't get a photo. Both are EF in the same shade of blue. The one in the photo was the ROG choice and linen. The other is wool. I thrifted the longer, linen one, so could not resist.

Yes, these look great! I love the blush and aqua color combo, as well as the light and cobalt combo. Good job ROG!

Thank you, Olga. I have very little blue but enjoy wearing it.
Torontogirl, I'm glad that ROG suggested that combination because I would not have thought of it.

I really love the colors in #1 on you Joy - really pretty and interesting too.

I try ROG and get the silliest combos and your tries get you great outfits. I like them all but my favorite it #1.

    You are Queen ROG.

I LOVE the pastel teal bag in #1. It's a fresh and different addition. And what Aida said.

    Thank you, Texstyle.
Bonnie, I do get some silly ROG outfits, especially using my bedroom slippers as footwear, but can still get ideas or change something. ROG is good at finding repeated colors, patterns and even textures in your wardrobe.
Angie, I would not have thought of using that bag with the outfit, but it was perfect and big enough to carry all the stuff I needed. That you and Greg for the ROG feature. It's become my go-to place if I need inspiration.

I think RO #1 is fave. The blush looks fantastic against your skin! Also the ice blue.
