Denim, plaid shirt and a velvet bow

I was inspired by one of the outfits in Angie's ensemble blog post to try this but am not sure that it was very successful. DGS ( grandson) loved pulling on the velvet scarf. The scarf is burn-out velvet in sort of a lacy pattern that does not show up. I ended up wearing my pewter sneakers with this outfit most of the day but did not get a photo. I'd love your thoughts and suggestions for improvement.

They all all look great on you. I'm most partial to the flannel shirt version. You make a flannel shirt so classy!

Love those booties on you. Really "elevates" the outfits but I am sure the pewter sneakers worked great too. Did you get a haircut?

Thank you all for your comments. Shevia, I did get a haircut a few weeks ago but it was quite a bit shorter and has grown out a bit.

Fab recreation of the ensemble idea. The plaid and bow are great together. I declare it successful.

Thank you. This was a fun outfit to wear on a rather ordinary day.

    I live the plaid shirt!
These are fun- I'm interested in creating festive/ holiday outfits where the bing or zing is in accessories, so I like the velvet scarf idea.
I love sparkly tops and sweaters and certain holiday- themed prints but I don't have a good track record of getting enough wears for the investment and storage, so I want more versatile items.

Unfrumped, I know exactly what you mean about using accessories to form holiday outfits. I have been trying to move that direction too the last few years. My sparkly earrings get lots of use. I got the idea of using the old velvet scarf from someone on the Forum and am embarrassed that I don't remember who. I have kept a long black velvet skirt and top for a possible dressy occasion, but they are just taking up room. My red sequined cotton pullover and matching scarf have earned their place because they dress up a pair of jeans and can be layered over a sweater or tank, depending on the level of warmth needed.

I love the plaid shirt version.  I have been using accessories more to change my outfits.  I am partial to the look of casual meets sparkly.
