WIW Christmas

I was so busy that there are no photos of outfits for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They had to stand up to cooking, being on the floor with a toddler, and religious services, so I relectantly opted for jeans and sweater over my planned red suit in photo.
I put the pieces in finds. The jeans, red sequined sweater and scarf, metallic booties and ballet flats were worn Christmas Eve.
Gold jeans with black assymetrical EF sweater ( with long sleeves. I thought I had it in my finds) and gold loafers were Christmas Day. I was still cold and added the furry black and leopard vest part of the day. It looked lux with the gold. I wore the sparkly star earrings both days.

The red suit look stunning on you and hope you get the opportunity to wear it soon.  The two outfits you describe sound awesome and I am sure you looked great!

Love red suit you look fantastic. The outfits you described sound nice and you probably looked wonderful on them.

The way you styled that chic red suit, with the black booties, black hosery, and the wide black ribbon belt - definitely would get a double-take from me! That is a lifetime keeper.

It's funny that I can look at your finds and not feel inspired by them standing alone, but when put together on you, I always get excited and covet your wardrobe! You must possess some magical styling powers!

How do I get some magical styling powers?

The red suit is wonderful and the actual outfit sounds great, too. It sounds like you had a busy, fun holiday.

The red suit is gorgeous on you, Joy! I hope you get to wear it. But I get the need for blinged up denim. That's what I went for, too.

Totally killer: red suit and black bow at the waist!

Wow, the red suit is phenomenal. There are no words to describe how awsome this colour is on you (and in general as well).

Your other outfits are elegant and stylish, as always.
I hope you had a nice Christmas and wish you Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas, everyone.  Thank you for your encouragement.  Bennett, I get so many styling ideas from this site.

I have much to learn. I can't look beyond the items themselves and come up with a cohesive look. And I am beyond hopeless with accessories!

Fantastic suit and your Christmas outfit sounds fab!

Gorgeous red suit, Joy, and perfect festive pieces.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas.

The red suit is amazing! Love the bow.

Thank you. I learned years ago how wonderful it is to have a red suit available in one's holiday collection. It can be warm as this wool one is, or a year round fabric as my last red suit was. Dressed up, it can go to some fancy events. Split up, the jacket can be worn with jeans or a denim skirt and the skirt with simple knit tops or fancy blouses. This one looks very different with a plain leather belt or obi belt.

Love the outfits. Hope you get to show us soon! The red one sounds beautiful.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Thank you, Momofthree. Red is such a festive color for any time.

Your suit is so so pretty. But I get that you had to be practical. I was on the floor, too, playing with little kids on Christmas Day. On top of it, we were in a chilly house. So I wore jeans, boots, turtleneck sweater, and my new Black Watch down vest.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

Thank you, J Aileen. Your outfit sounds perfect. Practical, warm and festive and now want a plaid down vest.

Wow, what a beautiful red suit!

The suit is fab Joy! I can also imagine how your other outfits looked. Love the fur vest and the brocade jeans.

I love how this is strong and feminine at the same time.
