Christina’s no Jeans Challenge, Part 2 with scrunching. ETA 1

Two more outfits for the No Jeans challenge. 1/2: culottes in a black grey fine stripe that looks navy, with EF navy silk top and JCrew dark denim jean jacket, black Crocs on my feet.
3. EF olive Ponte pants and black faux sweater set of BR tee and old black cashmere cardi, Bob’s olive sneakers. I find I like a twin set best if there is a mix of textures, so the tee is smooth and silky, the cardi is fluffy and soft.
I plan to add more photos this week to this thread. Sleeves on both Jean jacket and cardigan are scrunched. The small bag is an olive floral fabric from consignment. The bag on the first outfit is a black with grey geometric print Baggiinni also from consignment.
ETA: today’s outfit with burgundy pull on pant (JJill from consignment) EF navy knit jacket, e360 fabric and suede flats, both large and small bags (burgundy with gold hardware) from consignment. Old silk scarf. Top is an old woven tee in a burgundy, navy and white plaid.

    Love your #3 outfit!

Wow, I love the drama of the culottes outfit. The maryjane style crocs go perfectly with the vibe. I just it wasn't so hard to see dark colors in photos. #3 looks good too.

You look like Trinity from ‘The Matrix’ - fierce and seriously sexy.

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you, Murph11, Shevia, and Runcarla. I am sorry the photos are so dark. I need to figure out how to get more light. The culottes in the first outfit are great for hot weather, a linen fabric. They are from Thailand and the purchase helps women there earn some money.

I love the drama of the first outfit and thought of the Matrix too!

Great outfits - love the fab earrings in the first two photos! The small bags are fun additions to the outfits - perfect color/print combos!

Love your cullottes outfit but there is something very special about the vibe of the pic 3.  Very cool and casually chic.

  • Katerina replied 2 years ago

The first outfit is stunning! I love it! Very sophisticated, fierce and fashion forward to my eye. I really like the second outfit too. Relaxed and chic. You have created two fabulous silhouettes.

  • Mirjana replied 2 years ago

OMG, I am fascinating Joy, your culottes in #1 are so wonderful on you , I am speechless. I love that outfit so much. The second outfit is also very nice. Bravo!

Love your outfits Joy.  Relaxed chic?

  • Brooklyn replied 2 years ago

    Love no 1. So dramatic!

  • lyn67 replied 2 years ago

Wow, aren't you looking like an italian celebrity!!!:-)

  • replied 2 years ago

Love the first especially, but both are great! Think I need black culottes now!

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you all so much.. Those culottes are perfect for our summers. So breezy. At this time of year I layer some knlt pants under them for needed warmth. A silk shell with the Jean jacket and I was comfortably warm on a cold rainy day. The Crocs are good for wet pavement and grass.

Very cool outfits! #1 and #2 are artsy and dramatic! You look great in black and the contrast with your hair is stunning. The faux sweater set and sneaks combo is also unique. Love the black and olive mix :)

  • Angie replied 2 years ago

I’m with the others! Yes to the drama of outfit #1. You nailed it! Fun to see you look Matrix-y and ready for NYFW :)

Outfit 2 is fabulous - just like you.

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you, Nikki. I am glad you noticed the faux sweater set. It was one of those days when the wooly cardigan provided needed warmth in the morning and evening and came off for the afternoon.
Angie, thank you. Your comments always make me feel special.

    Super-chic!

  • Bonnie replied 2 years ago

Both outfits looks good and my favorite is #1.

    Ooh! Hollywood!

Thank you all so much for your uplifting comments. I needed those after hearing this morning that a dear friend’s husband had died unexpectedly of a cardiac arrest while she was there. Their apartment was recently ruined by someone above them leaving water on and a root canal that left her sick. Another dear friend has a broken leg and cannot help her daughter who is pregnant and will be in the hospital into August with a problem pregnancy, a small child at home and a husband with cancer and no immunity.
Below is another no-jeans outfit to wear to the library and to pick up other pants that have been shortened from the tailor. Our dog must fast most of the day for a series of tests at the vets. Her crying for food is pitiful. I may try to stay away as long as possible. Gary the Greyhound’s family returned home yesterday evening, so he is no longer here to be a distraction.

  • Jonesy replied 2 years ago

Oh Joy, I'm so sorry to hear about the tragedy several of your dear friends are facing! And I hate it when our pup has to delay eating to go to the vet--he just doesn't understand the fasting and it's so sad.

After all of that, it's hard to segue into talking about your style, but here goes :). I am in agreement with everyone that your first outfit is exceptional and fabulous! The volume looks so chic with your white hair and your sunglasses (those sunglasses suit you so well!). Your other outfits are great too. You look gorgeous and I'm sure you will bring joy to people who see you, out and about.

I hope your pup's health is okay!

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 2 years ago

These outfits are fab, as usual, Joy! I especially love the culottes on you. The jacket reins in the volume of the look by providing structure, and you wear it beautifully. I wouldn't have guessed those shoes were Crocs, but they look great and sound super practical. I do like the other outfits too--of course the olive one, and wow, to the burgundy with the plaid shirt that coordinates so well.
I'm sorry to hear of your friends' heartaches and troubles; I imagine your friendship is a great comfort to them, and I hope that you are able to appreciate the feeling of knowing that you are there for them.

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Honest and Firecracker, thank you so much for posting your thoughts. My heart is heavy with all the troubles and they all live hundreds of miles away. We can’t travel and put an old dog on lots of meds in a kennel either.

  • Christina F. replied 2 years ago

Love the dramatic culottes!!! Other outfits are great too.

    Poor pup!

  • JAileen replied 2 years ago

You have a very cool vibe going on.

  • slim cat replied 2 years ago

Beautiful colors and very sleek look altogether.
Sorry to hear about all the tough times and difficulties/tragedies with friends and close ones. Just reaching out to them would be helpful in some ways ( I'm sure you are staying in contact and trying to counsel them ). Hugs.
