oh I love the mix of colours. It gives it a feeling of casual chic when worn with the jeans. I also love that you got them from thrift stores as I love thrift store shopping when I get the time. Lovely picture of the snow. Where I live it never snows.

GO AWAY SNOW! :(
Joy, that's a GREAT stripe-floral mix. And two stripes to boot! You are creative and adorable.
Are you fully vaccinated? I hope so!
-
Joy replied 3 years ago
Angie, yes both DH and I are fully vaccinated. I had Phizer. I added this striped top and bag to my cold spring capsule which has been getting a workout lately.

Fun pattern mixing Joy! I can’t imagine thinking spring with all that snow!
Glad you are vaccinated. Got my first Pfizer shot this week. It seemed surreal after all we’ve been through this past year.

Thank you all for your comments. I am very happy that this outfit looks springy in spite of the snow. Angie, very few places are open to get a haircut here. Men seem to have a better chance and some salons are open for outdoor services, but with this cold and snow it sounds more like an ordeal. It is a relief to have going out not be a death sentence anymore but the variants are pushing the numbers in the hospital up as high as it was in spring last year. Stay safe, everyone.

Great stripe floral mix, and lovely color Joy. You look stunning as always. The weather is strange in April here, last week it was snow and on Monday this week daily temperature 24C yesterday rain and about 10C crazy!
Congratulations on your vaccination, I also finished that , the second dose two months ago.

Snow looks beautiful but very unwanted at this time of year especially when we are all trying to stay outside if we go out.
I very much like your happy floral take on mixing stripes. It makes a nice change from the usual nautical vibe that seems to go with a stripe.

Love your knack for pattern mixing - and your bag is SO fun!

Joy, you are dead right to play it safe. Take your time.

Thank you, Mirijana, Cardiff girl, nemosmom and Angie. I am glad that some feel the first outfit is happy and springy. The sun is shining today but it is still cool with a chance for more snow this week. The weather is crazy. Last year we had snow in May and no gardening until after May. Too many frosty nights and chance of cold and snow.
I added a second striped outfit and more pattern mixing. This one involves a black and white striped tee shirt dress, an old Target jacket, AGL sneakers ( old but comfortable) and a new-to-me from consignment little Baggallini bag. Too bumblebee? The dress feels a bit too short. Should it become a top? Be donated?

Snowwwwww :(
I like the first outfit more- since the patterns are just on the top half. Love the scarf!
But I am a Very conservative pattern mixer!

KILLER stripe dress and tweed jacket!
-
Joy replied 3 years ago
Thank you Suntiger and Angie for your comments. Angie, I think the Target jacket was one of your picks years ago.
Suntiger we are expecting 4-6 inches more snow tonight or tomorrow ( or both). And again on Wednesday. Winter is still here.

The stripe dress and tweed jacket is awesome on you. I am inspired and could try with my stripe dress. You are so creative Joy.

Love the striped dress and tweed outfit. Not too short. I am also going to give this mix a try when Spring gets here.

I really like 1 and 2. That is great pattern mixing. The dress and jacket outfit is really fun.
That’s a lot of snow. I’ve have been doing a little yard work and am now on the chaise, in the shade, and barefoot.

Thank you for the reminder that warmer times will come. Right now the sky is cloud-heavy and we have had some rain. The chance of snow later today is 100% as is our chance overnight. There is also a bone-chilling wind. Enjoy your garden and warmth, JAlieen.

Here is another striped outfit inspired by the second one on Angie’s post. I do not have any real chinos but these EF pants may fill in in color and fabric. Everything except the striped top and my sneakers is second hand. The black jean jacket is thrifted. The scarf and bag are consignment. The pants are from EF’s online RENEW shop. I will add photos soon. This outfit will probably not be worn out of the house today. If it is, the sneakers will be exchanged for snow boots and I will have to dry my hair.
Looking at photos, the pants look too dark. They are more of a khaki tan or a light neutral brown.
