Tweedy outfit turned upside down

After seeing Angie’s blog post today (29- Jan. 2021) I could not make an outfit to fit my grey theme this week so came as close as I could using a consignment store tweedy Mistook jacket, a skirt that has dark grey circles on pale grey, a sheer black slouchy sweater over a white tank, and big shite sneakers. How does this look? I welcome your thoughts and ideas.

You are ready for NY Fashion Week! :)

I like it, Joy. I really like the idea of the sheer sweater over the white tank, echoed by your sheer black stockings and white sneakers. I like the pattern mix, too. I'm also impressed with your turning Angie's idea "upside down."

What a fun jacket. Looks great!

I knew it very cleverly done

Thank you all. Angie, I am afraid I would be laughed off the street at NY Fashion Week.
Firecracker, you see all the details.
Rachylou, Suz, JAileen, Bonnie and Ledonna, l’m not sure if it was clever or just considering what I have that could make an outfit sort of fitting the ensemble. The jacket is fun and very comfortable. It is lined with a mesh material that is stretchy.
What I discovered is that I need an essential, a knee length white denim skirt or other casual skirt in white. I hope one that will work with my glucose meter will pop up soon.

I like your revesing Angie's suggestions. Also, great pattern mixing - this Is something I so often admire on the ladies in this forum.
    A great, fashion-y outfit.

Thank you, slim cat and Chirico. It was great to wear the jacket more casually.

I like it!  Pieces I would not usually put together and it looks fantastic.

Wow, Joy, sooo beautiful, love, love very much. The jacket is great and you look so modern, fresh and elegant. You inspired me for my tweed jacket, thank you for this lovely outfit.

What a great mix, Joy!  Innovative, with cool final reasons.   I really like the jacket.

FAB as is.. i love the skirt, what is it made of? I’m thinking it will look so cool in the spring with a bright tee and white sneakers...maybe with a denim jacket.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you Star, Mirjana, Tanya and kkards. The skirt is from Stitchfix last year and is made of 73% Nylon, 23% polyester and 4% spandex. It is machine washable and has been washed. It is pull on with a stretchy waist.
Kkards, those are good ideas for spring. I have mostly worn it with a black asymmetrical linen sleeveless top and black espadrilles. I like the idea of paring it with white. It goes well with my EF bone color and I have a quilted bone jacket , also a dressier bone silk jacket and pale grey flats.
I wear and buy lots of jackets as I hate to be cold and run cold. Maybe I need a tweed jacket in different shades of white.

    Super!!!!

This is so gorgeous, Joy.! The combinations of texture and pattern are absolutely SUBLIME!  I always appreciate a fabulous consignment store purchase like your Misook jacket..

  • unfrumped replied 3 years ago

    Love tweedy jackets!
Since it has a lot of texture and “ heft, I like your idea of wearing it with a slightly weightier fabric, though still smooth, like denim- white, black, or blue) for balance. But, I understand that many styles in those fabrics are not pump- compatible.

  • Joy replied 3 years ago

Thank you Minaminu, I’m glad you like it.
Nuancedream and unfrumped, this is probably my favorite jacket. It was a Fab find. I like all the texture it has. It would be fun to dress down with denim jeans. I do have a couple low rise I can still wear if the meter is attached in just the right place higher than my waist band.

Wow, love this upside down outfit, the rich terxture/pattern/color mix, but the most I admire are the so trendy use of sneakes! Very very well done!!
