Angie’s Challenge: Day 4: graphic tee on senior citizen

This outfit is me because the dog on the thrifted tee looks like our dog and my favorite way to wear a tee is with a jacket. This jacket is a nice warm thrifted EF felted wool. It has self fabric covered front buttons!
The jeans are Paige Hoxton ankle and almost reach my naval. They feel great on.
Forgive my slippers and wet stringy hair. Later I added a lucite necklace of big rings, gold hoop earrings and gold watch, black booties because it was cold out and they can accommodate thick wool socks. I used a light grey bag with ostrich skin texture.
My day was doing chores at home and teaching a class of children. They liked the necklace and wondered if it was glass.
How did I do? Are the jeans fitting ok? Is the jacket too big? I would have worn a scarf but did not want to cover up the dog.

Cearly, the kids loved the necklace, and I'm sure they were captivated by the dog on the tee as well. You were dressed perfectly for your day! (And, you're one of my style icons for when I'm a senior citizen!)

  • Laura replied 5 years ago

The doggy tee is fabulous on you! I like the high-rise jeans too and anything Lucite always gets a thumbs-up from me.

  • ChristelJ replied 5 years ago

YES! That t is great. Altogether the outfit is super.

  • Cardiff girl replied 5 years ago

Nice t and Looks good with the silver shoes.l was wondering who the senior citizen was then I realised that you meant yourself.l don’t think of you like that Joy so you must be doing something right.

Oh my dog! I love the tee. (I am wearing a furry brooch today so I think we are on the same wavelength.)

I'm tickled by the way the raw hem of the jeans echoes the texture of the dog's fur.

Fit looks great to me all around but I make no claims to expertise there.

  • Helena replied 5 years ago

Polished and perfect; love the tee!

Great outfit, Joy! It's hard to tell about the fit, but both the jacket and jeans look terrific to me. I like your graphic tee, and how you make it your style by wearing it with a jacket. I really like the idea of a graphic tee, but finding the right one(s) can be so hard. Having one that depicts a dog like yours is a fun find.

Thank you, ladies , for your lovely comments. Kathie I am humbled. We do not have to dress like out grandmothers or aunties did.
Laura, I love Lucite as it catches the light and is so light weight. I bought the necklace to match my specs frames but no longer need to wear them. Now I am looking for earrings or a bracelet to blend with it
    You are sweet, Christie.
Cardiff girl, as you get older, as long as you feel good, you are shocked every time you look in a mirror. One does not always feel as old as they are. Thank you for the kind words
Sarah, finding doggie things is hard because there are so many breeds.
I did not think of the raw hem echoing dog fur. Cute.

Torantogirl and Firecracker, thank you. It is hard to find special graphic tees even with so many out there. I have joked that I could wear Little Mermaid or Hello Kitty ironically. A little nephew loves Batman. I am tempted.

Fits look good to me-and love the artistic dog, and of course the silver shoes too!
Now need to see your dog next to the tee :)

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you suntiger. Below are a couple of photos of the dog

  • taylor replied 5 years ago

Awe ... look at your pooch . :)
Of course you love that tee! I do too:)

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

I LOVE that tee, Joy. It's a prized possession. How can this not be fabulous, and in slippers too.

  • JAileen replied 5 years ago

Clothes that look like our dogs - pure awesomeness! You’re a very cool senior citizen, Joy.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Taylor and Angie, thank you for the sweet comments. Mags, the dog is a sweetheart and loves keeping the yard free of squirrels. Right now she is letting me know that it is almost her dinner time. It is fun to wear the tee in her honor

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

JAileen, I just saw white Scottie. Dog cookies at the local bakery. So cute. I had to think of Mr. Skunky.

  • Mainelady replied 5 years ago

Oh I love the doggie tee! I’m thinking that might be a happiness factor for you. I bet the kids loved that as much as they loved your lucite necklace!

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Yes, the doggie tee has a happiness factor off the charts. It makes me smile when I think of the antics of that dog. They did not ask about the tee but had seen some pictures of Mags.

  • Jaime replied 5 years ago

Your outfit works beautifully on you and would work just as well on my teenage daughters. The tee is fantastic and I like the chewed off hem of you jeans to go with the doggy theme!

  • Katerina replied 5 years ago

You look very chic as always, Joy. The tee is great and the whole outfit is a big success indeed. The jeans look good in the picture (the fit). The lucite necklace and gold hoops must have looked perfect with the tee and black jacket,
Now, where is the senior citizen? Is she wearing a graphic tee as well? :-) :-)

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Thank you , Shevia and Katerina. Shevia, what tees are teen daughters wearing these days?
Katerina, I tried to dress up the outfit a bit with the necklace and gold hoops. I should have looked for a brooch or two or three to put on the jacket.

  • Staysfit replied 5 years ago

Joy, your silver shoes make me smile and they look great with your outfit. I giggled when you said the Paige Hoxtons reach your navel, I have a pair, and they barely make it to midrise! I keep them for hiking and doing odd jobs around the house —-like refinishing furniture, etc. I love your puppy pics!

  • lyn67 replied 5 years ago

Oh, such an adorable graphic on that tee(find it ageless!)-and think the kids loved it too! The outfit is  styled spot on and the  metallic loafers are another little detail which help to be different and  more personal of yours- and so pleasing to my eyes! High five, Joy!

  • Brooklyn replied 5 years ago

    You are too cool!

  • cjh replied 5 years ago

Great tee! (Like others, I find the perfect graphic tee very hard to come across. I feel it should be something the wearer can relate to. I’ve seen cute ones with attractive New York City motifs, for example, but not for me, as I’ve never been there and don’t live anywhere close to the east coast.)

  • Bijou replied 5 years ago

Both you and Mags are gorgeous. It sounds like she has a great time keeping your yard squirrel free.

  • replied 5 years ago

    Awww :)

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Staysfit, interesting that your Hoxtons are more midrise. Because these black ones seemed high enough, I bought Paige Hoxtons in white and am wearing them today. They are not the same style but are more midrise on me and require a belt to stay up..
Lyn and Staysfit, my silver shoes in the photo are my house slippers which were worn with the outfit much of the day. To leave the house, I wore black all- weather Aquatilia booties with wool socks for the cold and snow.. I will wear some silver loafers when the weather warms up.
Brooklyn, thank you. I should wear this outfit with a moto jacket to up the coolness factor. That was intended but my black moto was not warm enough.
Cjh, I agree on how hard it is to find good graphic tees. I am still looking for a great one for Colorado to wear away from home but have yet to find it.. I want something that looks good peeking out from under a jacket and not sports related.
Thank you all for looking and your comments..

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

I missed you, Bijou and Suntiger. She loves striking fear into those pesky squirrels. They get fat at our bird feeders in spite of baffles so they can't just climb up. So they climb trees and fling themselves into the air hoping to land on a feeder. One surprised Mags and himself falling at her feet. I think she is hoping that happens again.

  • replied 5 years ago

Aww-funny squirrels :) I have a squirrel circus (a wheel with corn on the cob on it) for cat porn! And we feed the birds on the front porch too.
Sometimes the spoiled squirrels will hop up on the air conditioner and look in :)
