I love these outfits. I especially love the layering in 1. The cardigan is lovely!
You are definitely not too old for the sweater dress and pants combo! In fact, I looked at the pics before reading your writeup, and when I saw no. 2, I thought to myself, "Wow, that is a really nice outfit! She wears that sweater dress really well!"

The sweater dress outfit is excellent and it suits you so well! You are definitely not too old for this outfit. It is polished, chic and elegant! You look beautiful in it, in fact one of my favorites of your lovely outfits.
No 1 is great too!

I love that first outfit- the white/ light colours are so great on you, and it just looks so sumptuous with all the textures. The second is good too- definitely not too old for a sweater dress!

I'm also as honest as they come.
The age factor never even entered my head. Your style transcends any age and THAT style showcases YOU. That style then becomes the age at which a woman can/should wear those combinations.
EVEN if this didn't make sense, I know what I was trying to say.

Echo what Sterling said! I know what you meant, Sterling and you said it so much better than I could have! Beautiful, Joy! I have been waiting to see your sweater dresses and you did not disappoint!

Both are great outfits on you.

I am grateful for your thoughts and will continue to wear sweater dresses if you think the look is ok. They can be warm and are washable.
Sterling , I think I know what you are saying. I wondered about wearing them now as I wore them in my twenties, only short and with tights.

Absolutely not - you look amazing it that outfit. That light palette in outfit number 1 looks AMAZING on you. Stunning in both.

Joy, I don't think you could go wrong with anything you wear. You have such a good sense of what works on you, it's going to look fab no matter what.
Love these two outfits, and what a GREAT job with the textures and layering.

I have never seen you sport anything that didn't look polished and perfect. If I looked that good in an outfit like #2, I would wear it all the time. In fact, you are inspiring me to at least try.
The colors and textures in 1 are amazing. They look wonderful on you. I really appreciate the close ups of both so I can get the full effect.
What boots are those? La Red suggested perforated booties to me and I am keeping an ye lout.

You are not too old to wear sweater dresses and leggings.
And is that a fur trimmed pink cardigan? Whatever it is (one piece or multiple) that creates what's going on there... I love it!
I love the way you play with outfits and fashion. You are adventurous, and I enjoy seeing what you come up with :-)

Nope not too old.You look like a celebrity in #2!something to do with the sunglasses and fur I think , it made me smile (in a good way not in a laughing at you way)so carry on wearing your clothes the way you do it’s all good.

Zibbets replied 6 years ago
You're totally rocking this, Joy! Definitely not too old.
These are both beautiful. I think #2 is my favorite because of the pretty contrast with your hair.

Thank you for your kindness. You gave me the courage to wear another sweater dress today.
Karen, those perforated booties are Aquatalia. I was lucky enough to find them reduced at The Rack. I also got a light grey pair. They feel comfortable and feminine with the small heel. These are a half size bigger than my normal size, but the grey ones are my normal size. Bonus, these are waterproof but very soft leather.
Cindy, the cardigan I am wearing is a faux fur trimmed, Nick and Zoe, an old favorite. The "fur" is removable, which I do in spring when it may look too wintery. I have used just the furry piece over the collar of a jean jacket for a different look.

I love the booties and stockings contrast. It's very fun!

KILLER all round. Both palettes are gorgeous on you, Joy. YOU ARE SO FAB.
-
Joy replied 6 years ago
Thank you so much, Angie.
I am adding yesterday's sweater dress, no jeans. The sweater dress is alpaca, soft and warm. I am wearing a black long-sleeved tee under it on top and EF slim ponte pants under it on the bottom. I added more texture with the furry vest and tall black leather boots with the leather sort of quilted looking in back.

Mainelady replied 6 years ago
Another sweater dress winner, Joy. The texture and color of the vest add big doses of style and cozy.

Lovely, Lovely, both outfits are great on you. Those micro fishnets and booties, are perfect. Go ahead, forget about the ages.

Great job. You are not too old for the sweater/ leggings combination. Wearing layers over clothes can be a challenge to any age group. Sometimes this look can be too baggy or reveal one's "lumps and bumps". You have a very nice figure and your clothing choices reflect this. Keep doing what you do. Looking forward to your future wardrobe
