WIW: Sunday pale green and black

I'm not sure this works so am posting for your thoughts.
1-5: Worn to church. A pale green thrifted suit ( I wore the jacket too as it was needed for warmth at 7am.), Silky print blouse with greens and black, and tan peep-toe booties. 3 is to show the flounced back of the skirt.
4 is a necklace made by hand at a women's shelter in Denver, 5 is a different jacket, an old EF unlined cotton Keep or Toss?
6: Changed out skirt for old silk slouchy EF pants. Pardon the bare feet. We were walking in the Arboretum and I needed to find good walking shoes that could take some mud. Too much contrast?

I like it all. The pale green with the colors and with the black all look really nice to me.  I'm thinking that maybe a metallic or nude shoe in a similar style would also be a great option.

I have found EF jackets to be so fab that I only got rid of them if they were really worn out...so I'd vote keep that older one except that it's almost an exact match for the new one so maybe do get rid of...

I love all of the ensembles.  I was surprised that you questioned the contrast in number 6, I personally liked it the best.  Hope you had a nice day.

Thankyou, Chris. The jackets are different weights, so I may hang onto both for now. The EF one is great for air conditioning on hot days as it is a light weight cotton. I used to have matching ankle pants but they got too large.
Thank you for commenting, Sterling. It was a beautiful day for being outside. The Arboretum has a Monet garden that had waterlilies and other flowers in bloom.

It all works. The top brings in the dark bottoms to my eye. The Arboretum is beautiful.

I love the new suit, it is gorgeous on you.  I think the black pants are fine with it because the print incorporates black.

  • Anna replied 7 years ago

Love the print with the dark pants. Fabulous!

This reminds me of an upscale look in Florida or Hawaii. A wicker purse would go so well!

Thank you for your comments. Shevia, Sally and Anna, I'm glad that the black in the print pulls in the black pants. The power of a print.
Una, your comment makes me smile. I'm happy the outfit is looking upscale and not dated. I love your idea of a wicker purse and think I have just the one. Thank you for the suggestion.

That green is lovely. It was made for black.

Thrifting = Winning, Love this suit you can wear it as separates or together. I like the subtle pattern mixing on the top and necklace. Look like you get some of your inspiration for the gardens. How lovely. I like the look and the fit of the other jacket.

Wow you have two jackets in the same green tone. It's a really lovely colour and the blouse goes really well. Also beautiful garden photos.

Hi Joy...Work has been really busy.  I've been reading all the posts, but I haven't had as much time to comment as I would like.  Still your outfits looked so spectacular, I had to post.

I love all your outfits… and especially adore the high contrast version in #6 (the darker bottoms work well with the pattern of the blouse). Your pale green suit is gorgeous -- what a find! I love the flounce. I say keep the EF jacket. It may be versatile as a warm weather topper (to use when the AC is cranked up).

Gorgeous Joy - the color works so well on you and the shoes are lovely. I would keep both jackets if they're different weights though I prefer the first one.

  • Tanya replied 7 years ago

Such a lovely shade of pale green, and it looks beautiful on you, Joy!  I like both the low and high contrast outfits, they are all lovely.

  • Sara L. replied 7 years ago

I love your blouse with the pale color of the suit.  Really classy look to my eye.  Teh flounce on the back of the skirt is so cute.

  • L'Abeille replied 7 years ago

You didn't ask but I LOVE the kick pleat. Adds just the right amount of curve to a straight-ish figure.

  • Mochi replied 7 years ago

Just lovely, Joy! You know which colors and silhouettes work for you.

Rachylou, ElCee, and Tanya, I'm glad that the high contrast looks ok.  Thank you for your help.

Ledonna, I was inspired by your great thrifting.  I liked the pattern mixing of top pattern and necklace too.  I have liked the skirt with aqua and want to try the jacket with blush.

Sally, ElCee, and Sihaya, thank you for addressing the jackets.  The EF one is one of the oldest things in my closet.  It is kind of boxy so was neglected in favor of more fitted toppers for a few seasons.

Sterling, thank you for taking time to comment.  You are a sweetheart.

Sara, Rachylou, Tanya, Mochi and all who mentioned the pale green, thank you.  I sometimes wonder if the color washes me out but like it very much.

L'Abeille, that is a helpful observation on the affect of the skirt's kick pleat.  Anything that helps a straight figure is a plus!

I like #6 best. Great on trend combination, Joy.

    You rock!  I'm flattered

  • Joy replied 7 years ago

Angie, that takes away all my high contrast fears. Rock on, Ledonna. I' m the one who is flattered.
