WIW: Summer Brights. ETA: Orange Dress & More Boho

Inspired by Angie’s blog post, some bright coral Chico’s pants came home with me here paired with a Johnny Was top and citron cardi for more brights.  Every thing I am wearing is consignment or thrifted.
Orange consignment dotted dress for Fathers Day (5-7) with EF bone white long silk sleeveless duster, floral scarf and red-orange loafers and bag. Does the scarf look ok? The EF topper? Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated.

22/6/2021:   Consignment BOHO blouse with coal tassels and purplish  blue cardi and tank.  Purple flats from YLF member San. Coral-red Kate Spade bag, turquoise jewelry, coral consignment Chico’s utility pants with lovely deep pockets. It feels right on a chilly morning of what is predicted to be a hot day. (#8-10).

These pants are so cool - I love the whole outfit.

Beautiful top! Adore the embroidery on it. The coral necklace is sublime.

Gorgeous top and fun pants look fantastic together, and with your layered necklaces. Your summer looks are all so delightful.

Gorgeous top and lovely pants, great outfit as usual. Love necklace too.

I really enjoyed wearing this outfit, although  the sleeveless top reveals the massive bruise on my left shoulder.  No idea how I got it. No idea either why print went from Italics to bold.

Your style is so youthful but still appropriate.l really enjoy your looks.

Great outfit!  I love the embroidered top.  Your hair is so long!  It looks great, too.

Love the top and the brights really suit you.

This is the bomb. The zitron or chartreuese open shirt over the otherwise well-behaved, nicely matching outfit puts it over the top. I’m good at picking out colors from patterns to match, but coming up with complementary shades is a different ball game. Sorry for so many metaphors.

Thank you, Cardiff girl, JAileen, Tanya, and Fashintern for your comments.  I’m thrilled that someone thinks brights suit me. I picked the citron green cardi because it was bright.  It was thrifted 2 years ago to wear on St Patrick’s Day over another green top.

Fathers Day bright: an orange and red-orange dot silk dress (consignment) with bone white EF long silk topper and orange floral on white summer scarf, red consignment Talbots loafers and Nicole Miller small bag.

Absolutely brilliant and you look like a million bucks, Joy.  Love the Johnny Was top and I even have a similar necklace. Citron and orange  suit you so well.  I want to go thrift and consignment shopping with you!

Thank you, nuancedream.  I am lucky to have a very well edited consignment shop near-by.  I learned on this site to feel the fabric with my hands and it quickly reveals the best stuff, especially jeans which can look much alike.  I have been shopping for pull-on bottoms and small accessories to round out my wardrobe.  This spring I looked there first for boho style tops since I had decided to add some for a summer refresher.  I have another from that shop that has little coral tassels that match those coral pants.  I used it with , I think, white crops in Sal’s May Challenge.

Love, love your silk dress plus the EF duster and scarf! Absolutely works together. Gorgeous!

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you, Irina, for brightening my day.

I love the brights on you! The Johnny Was top is gorgeous and I really like the citron topper with it. LOVE the orange consignment dress!

  • Jaime replied 2 years ago

The top is amazing on you! The dress is excellent also. Summer brights love you!

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you, Mainelady and Shevia,   I am enjoying these summer brights after a long neutral winter. Brights seem to be a side of my personality that I forget.

Beautiful outfit - sings on you!

  • Mirjana replied 2 years ago

Love orange dress, brilliant outfit. Brights love you,

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you slim cat and Mirjana.  It was exciting to discover that I can wear orange from light peach to rust.

Added  another outfit with the Chico’s coral pants. This Chico’s top has little coral tassels.  It is a pale blue and white narrow vertical stripe and lots of embroidery around the neck and on the sleeves in coral, hot pink, cobalt and aqua.  I bought it because it is a different sleeve length  boho top and looks great with white or even navy pants.it reminds me of the late 60’s early 70’s and the tasseled tops worn then.  Is the cardi too short for this top.  I had hoped for an assemetrical look.  Does it work?

  • Mirjana replied 2 years ago

One more beautiful outfit Joy. This top is very interesting and perfect with great pants, love color. The cardi is good to my mind.

  • slim cat replied 2 years ago

It all works building artistic colorful outfit - very pretty!

  • Jonesy replied 2 years ago

What an amazing wardrobe you have built from consignment finds! I love the print scarf with the dress! I think you wear boho so well.

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you,  Mirjana, I wonder if the same person once owned the top and coral pants as they are the same brand.  I am happy that you feel the cardi works with the top ok.  It goes very well with the silk tank under the top and is a good summer weight.
slim cat, thank you for the word “artistic”. It is a bit different for this area.
Jonesy, one of my goals this year was to shop as much as possible for second hand items.   Normally I would do more thrifting but those shops have been very slow to open and have open changing rooms to try on anything,  I have been very happy with consignment shops that feel open and safe.  There are strange hours as no one seems ready to hire help and the owners are working long days.   My whole outfit is less than $50, probably less than $40.

These are all super fab. I’m all excited now. And the polka dot dress in orange! I’d be jumping around if I were three! :D

  • Joy replied 2 years ago

Thank you, Rachylou. I will definitely think of you whenever I wear that dress. I am visualizing you jumping in puffies, a puffy suit in a Christmas snowman penguin print. In teal and orange.
