WIW: Rust, Blue and Gold Casual Revisited

Today I tried a slightly different version of the rust/blue/gold ensemble with gold jeans, loafers, belt and bag and rust shell, blue faded denim jacket ( photos 1-3); and same jeans, belt and loafers with rust shell and cardi, blue clutch and scarf with blues and rust.
I'm not as confident about these outfits but got compliments on the bootcut gold jeans. I ended up wearing the first outfit but with the EF blue/rust scarf. Does this look too Mutton-dressed-as-Lamb? Do these old jeans still fit ok? (I need to lose about 5 pounds after the winter).
I welcome your thoughts and styling ideas.

Both iterations work great, but I have to say that the fab bag with the loafers and the faded denim totally wins me over. Not MDAL at all!

I echo Diane. Both are fab renditions. Totally fashionable and appropriate.

I love this version too, Joy.  The jeans look great on you.

    Fabulous Jeans, looking wonderful here!

You look great! I see no lambs nor mutton. No wonder you got compliments.

V cool and stylishly casual. Love them both.

Angie and Diane, I'm thrilled that you think both outfits are working. The gold belt is kind of narrow for jeans and one I found that I had but was using the other side, which is leopard.
Tanya and TraceyLiz, I'm glad that you like the jeans because I wondered if a woman my age might look a little silly in gold boot-cuts.
Aquamarine and Dakotacheryl, thank you for your sweet comments.

I love it all, Joy, and I have never seen you look MDAL in anything I have seen you wear.
By the way, if you need to lose 5 pounds, I must be going around looking like an elephant.

WOW, that first outfit is stellar on you, Joy!! Gorgeous!!

Let's lose that 5 pounds together, okay? Not that you look like you need it. But I know about how things are feeling. I gained when I was sick/ recovering from surgery late last fall and it hasn't come off yet. Time for me to get moving.

No sheep of any age in these photos, Joy!  :)  You look especially savvy and pulled-together in the first outfit with the great denim jacket.  That style really suits you.  In the latter group of photos, I preferred the look with the scarf best.
I like the gold shoes with gold jeans - and are the jeans sort of metallic, or are they regular fabric in a gold color?

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

LOL, Summer. My weight goes right to my midsection. Believe me, it's there.
Suz, I gained it without the regular exercise I was used to and hope getting back at it will do the trick eventually. I would love to be weight loss buddies.
Jeweled, these jeans have a sort of metallic gold finish. It is like it has been sprayed over cream denim. I also have a much more metallic pair that seem to be metallic gold thread woven with black. They were packed away after New Years.
It sounds like look 1 is the best.

    Love both outfits on you!

Both look great, Joy! I love the distressed denim jacket on you, especially.

Is it natural that you always look so well put together or were you once and average pedestrian. Where is your superhero fashion cool cape hidden.

Thank you, Shevia and Jackiec. That denim jacket is from Target last spring. All my others are more fitted and cropped. I wanted something longer and bigger. This jacket is a Large and I usually get an XS at Target.
Ladywone, you made my day:). I was once exceptionally clueless about dressing myself, having had hand-me-downs all my life. I am still not very sure of myself with styles and that's why I post my outfits. I need help.
